I stayed at Complete Care recently. I want thank a few of the geriatric nurses aids (GNA) that have gone above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. Sophia is extraordinary, she's absolutely wonderful so are Wanda, Nikki, Ashley, Liz, Fred and Samiya. These GNAs deserve a hefty raise for their hard work.

Complete Care at La Plata Center didn't take very good care of my husband. He'd be in the same clothes for a couple of days and he would be wet when I was there. Because he's in a wheelchair and he can't get to the bathroom, he asked for help, and when he asked for help, they would say he doesn't have to go to the bathroom. It was just not a good place. When you walk in the front door, it doesn't even work. The facility was not well-maintained. Medication was a big deal and that was not always right. Although the physical therapy part was good (the food was good, too), the general care of the facility was not. There were a few wonderful people. There was one girl who was really good. She was there for six weeks or so and she got my husband to go down to play bingo, that sort of thing. On the recreation part (as far as getting involved), they tried and they were good about that, but the staff and the caring aspect were not so much.

This place was horrible. The management gets defensive when you ask questions regarding the care your loved one is receiving. my family member made very little progress in his rehab and was prematurely discharged despite having more Medicare days available. I would stay away from this place at all costs. additionally, when I reported my concerns to the ombudsman for LTC I the county they very next week Laplata Complete wanted to discharge which I felt was retribution. my advice is you mind another facility.

This place is horrible! The staff yells at the patients or ignores them, often leaving them unattended in unsafe situations. They are non-responsive when you complain. My Mom has been given food that is prohibited due to her medication, left without her oxygen and out of reach of a call button, given the wrong medicine when leaving. At night they turn off the ringers on the phones and put them on the dresser out of reach. Every morning, we would call the main desk to get them to bring her phone to her to use. I would check for the call button on the woman in the next bed because the staff would "knock it" under the bed especially when they bathe her, leaving her naked, wet and exposed for all to see.

We have put my fiance in Genesis in La Plata. The nurses are good. If something happens, they let us know right away. They take good care of his wounds. The speech therapist and physical therapist work with him, so all in all I think they're very good. I have not seen his room, but he is in a shared room. Before you couldn't go in, but now you can see him but you have to make an appointment. I have only been there once and you can only stay for half an hour. I think it is in pretty good shape for an older place, and the building is pretty good.

My mother was in La Plata Center for rehab. The building was not old, but it was not kept-up as well as it could have been. She was left in her bed, and left to sit in her room too often. The nursing assistants were not good, they had her in pajamas all the time, and if they did not need her to get out of bed, then they did not change her into fresh clothes that day. I think they had a lot of long-term residents there. It's not a horrible place, it's clean, but it needs updating, and it felt more institutional.

When he got admitted to the hospital because he fell, they sent him to Genesis HealthCare afterward. I did not choose this facility. The place was fine. The nurses were good and they got him to dance and made him feel good. One of the nurse took him to a mall every Thursday. However, it came to a point when I had to hold my breath because there was a lot of odor. It would be better if they paid attention if they had to be in the room with somebody and stop anything that smelled offensive. They also should make sure the rooms were clean.

Considering the location and price, my expectations upon first visiting were low. Everyone I interacted with seemed friendly and my mom got along well with the staff from what she told me. Many of the residents were in very bad shape though and it would be a stretch to call this an active retirement home. They did appear to offer plenty of activities and interaction for the residents. There was also a separate wing for the more ill patients, and it was less active and mostly limited to nurses and staff. I would recommend this facility.
