What ongoing training does the staff receive in dementia care?

All staff receive an initial 8 hours of classroom general orientation, which includes 5 hours of specific training on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, followed by 40 hours of one-on-one mentoring on the unit. All staff will receive 12-14 hours of continuing education annually.

How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?

We have at least 2 staffers (Caregivers and/or CMTs) on duty at all times.

Our Delegating Nurse will assess the resident's condition prior to admission. The Delegating Nurse is on-site every week. Residents are seen whenever there is a change in condition, or at-least every 45 days.

Residents are cooked home-style meals with fresh fruits and vegetables available every day. Snacks and drinks are available 24/7. We can accommodate those with a special diet (diabetic, puree, etc.).

Families may voice or video call our facility at any time to speak with their loved one. We ensure constant communication to our families. Our monthly newsletter is posted on our web page.
