I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I love this facility. My mom has been in at least three different ones over the last two years. This is the only one that shows genuine care and compassion towards her and her needs. She's really loved by the staff. Everyone knows everyone and everyone cares. Her room is perfect size for her needs and is kept in excellent care by the housekeeping and maintenance team. She's kept engaged by their activities department and well fed by the kitchen staff- I've shared a meal or two with her. The food was wonderful, I'm jealous.

I'm happy with Heartsong Memory Care. They are providing excellent care to my wife. They have nurses on staff, and they have enough for the amount of residents there. They seem to care about their people. My wife was in another memory care facility before, but they couldn't do the things that Heartsong Memory Care can do, as far as crushing pills. They take their care a step further being in this final stage of Alzheimer's. The care they provide is between a regular memory care and a nursing home. You still have your own apartment, your own furniture, and your own bed. The facilities are nice. They are very clean. They have a garden patio. Every time I've been in there, her room has been clean and nice.

Heartsong is a community for people with Alzheimer's; it's a memory care. The owner of the place has been very helpful in helping me find different solutions and things that could help. It seems like a very nice place, and it's very clean too. My mom's room is a private room. We took our own furniture and decorated it ourselves, so it's her things in there. Everyone has been very open to me calling during the day to check on her. I know they have bingo and crafts. They sent me pictures of her doing crafts. She likes Elvis so I made a point to put in Elvis movies for them all to watch. They have two courtyards; one has chickens in it because they said that older people like chickens. They have a salon, but currently they don't have anyone on duty. Right now with COVID, we could just make an appointment and go visit her in a room, not her room. They've been open to me calling whenever to check on her, though.

My husband is doing fine at Heartsong Memory Care. The place is beautiful. The staff is good to them. They love him, and they take good care of him. Most of the residents lay in their room, and they just sit and watch TV. The dining area is fine, and it has three different sections to it. They give them three meals a day and snacks, they play music, they have therapy that comes in, they play games with them, and they interact with them.

Provider Response

Thanks for your kind feedback, Pamela! I'm happy that you are satisfied with his care at Heartsong. We do have some residents who do not enjoy participating in activities, and prefer to watch TV. Having the TV parlors at least has them out of their rooms to maximize socialization. And even residents who prefer to stay in bed are up and out at least 3 times a day to meals in the dining room, and most are out of their rooms more than that. There's that core group of course, that attend every activity and love to get competitive with games, etc. It's a diverse group, right? Be sure to contact me or the Director of Resident Care if you have any concerns at any time.

I visited this facility

Heartsong Memory Care was very nice. The room was smaller and a bit more expensive, but it was very nice. The staff was very friendly. They had an activity going on that the residents were very engaged in. Some were just sitting in wheelchairs not doing anything, but there were those who were engaged in the activities. It depends on the level of their disease and how much they could understand.

Heartsong isn't big and fancy but homey and caring. The residents all feel free to move around. The care givers are very caring and treat each resident respectfully. I have visited many personal care facilities and found many have an institutionalize feeling. Heartsong has a feeling like you are at home.

I visited this facility

We visited Heartsong Memory Care, but they were unable to provide the care that my mother needed. They were basically on the same level as where she was in. It was very affordable, very nice, and it didn't have a nursing home feel. It's an apartment for seniors who might need some assistance. It had the same level of food, same level of activities for the seniors to do, and everything was very enjoyable. They had very nice rooms, and it was a fairly new facility.
