My mom moved into ComfortCare Homes. Besides two other providers that responded, ComfortCare Homes was the first to respond. They were just very thorough, and they were the first to set an appointment. They have actual homes that have been converted, so the homey feeling is what I was looking for. Each home offers a different level of memory care. The other thing that attracted me was that my mom is getting a brand-new room. The construction is in process, and when the new rooms are done she gets to choose her room. The staff members are very personable. The nurse sat with me, and we went through all the medications. The fact that they staff their people with CNAs and nurses and not the general public is very important to me. I was very pleased with that. All of them that I've encountered have been extremely thorough and helpful. They'd call me during the day and at night to let me know what was going on. It's been such a big relief. The facility is very clean. It's impressive to see how they're able to manage taking care of six people, having the construction go on, and still maintain the cleanliness that they have. I am very impressed by that. When I went there yesterday to take my mom to the doctor, there was a fellow there entertaining them. The residents sang along with some songs that they were familiar with. They have puzzles and a lot of socialization. On Mondays they do manicures for the ladies. They try to encourage the residents to socialize in the family room where they have TVs. All their homes have pets.
