My mother's room continually smells like urine. It has been an on-going battle with the staff about keeping my mother clean. Most recently, I walked into my mother's room, and she smelled like urine and feces while a CNA was sitting next to her on the phone. Our loved ones deserve good care. For the past several weeks, I have been very frustrated that the staff's care has not shown any improvement in keeping my mother clean. I even reported this facility to the state, but it has not made a difference because my mother smelled like urine today.

I went to look at Harcourt Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation. The outside of the grounds had trash and litter. The parking lot needed to be repaved. The landscaping was poor. The building looked like it needed painting, and it was falling. Once I got inside the building, it had a distinct odor of urine. The men and women were separate. But once we got into the unit, the odor was awful, so I didn't feel comfortable being there, let alone having my relative there. The room was very sparse, dark, and not clean. It looked like it had not been remodeled in at least three decades. It was just pathetic.
