"My mom used to live at The Meadows for several years and she really liked it there. Everything seemed to be good. She had a little apartment and it was very clean and kept very well. Every time she needed something done in the apartment, it was always taken care of. There was always something for them to do in the recreation room. They could walk out and it was safe. She really enjoyed her stay there. "

"I'm in Sierra Village. It's been a very good experience. The price is significantly better than other places and from beginning to end there, they make you feel like you're worth something. They do everything they can to make the transition as easy as possible. I have nothing negative to say about them. I'm very pleased with them. The staff is friendly and helpful to a tee. Anytime you need something, they're as quick as they can be. You could either rent a unit with a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom. I'm in independent living, so I cook my own food. They have various activities during the week that you can partake in, and they have special activities as well. They are smart enough that when they built that place, no one has to go to a second floor. Everybody lives on one-floor ground level. Each of those housing has its own special arrangement. They are built next to a school because they hope to have the students interact with the older folks. Considering that the cost of living is in the General Bay Area, this is an excellent cost."

"I'm in Manor House. I don't have to participate in activities, but I can if I wish. The food is excellent and I don't have to do anything. They do everything for me. This is a big adjustment, and I did not expect to be so content right away, but it's as close to a home situation as they can make it. And I'm very comfortable, and just really happy here. The staff treats me like they're related to me like they're my children. They're very kind and again, they do everything for me. They keep the place spotless. We go to the dining room, have food served family-style, and it's all been delicious. There's an exercise class, the church is a few feet away from the front door, so we can go to the church for bible study, we can play bingo. There are all kinds of things we can do if we wish."

"We went to Palm Village Retirement Community, but because of COVID, and because it's a nursing facility, the restrictions are a little different. And so we could only go into an empty part of the facility just to see the rooms, and the rooms are glorious and huge. It was a double bedroom, but there's plenty of room and built-in cupboards, and the bathroom is spacious. But it's a skilled nursing facility, so the shower room is separate. But it's lovely. The staff that we met were very pleasant and knowledgeable, we also met the activities director. The room that we saw was exceedingly spacious and well-appointed, with built-in cupboards and closets. There's a bedside stand near the bed, and there wasn't an independent dresser because it's all built-in. And the bathrooms were lovely, and they're big with grab bars. They're a 3-level of care village, so they have a salon, a library, and a chapel. The place was clean, large, and spacious. "

"What I like about Sierra View Homes Retirement is that they have apartments where I could go and my husband would be right across the wing. Their memory care unit was excellent. The door locked to go in, but all the doors inside did not lock. The rooms were off of this big oval, so that Alzheimer’s patients would not get very confused when they hit a wall. There, you would never hit a wall, just walk this oval. In the center of this oval, they had four glass doors leading out that to this garden area. Sierra View Homes was my favorite but there wasn't an opening for my husband at that time. They were very kind and friendly. The lady who showed us around knew everyone’s names. "
