My mother-in-law was in Oaks Meadows for a year. It's a really nice place. They got kitchens in their apartments. It's family friendly. Everybody was real friendly. It was nice that they lock the doors. For the evening hours, you can only get in by calling the individual you wanted to visit there because they lock the door. It's a nice secure area and we like that. They were real nice and real friendly. They even remember my name.

This is a multi-story senior housing facility for independent living that's owned and managed by a non-profit organization. I was given a tour by a maintenance man, very nice. He told me that they are in the process of replacing carpet in the hallways. There are laundry facilities located throughout. This is located next door to the Visalia Senior Center for easy access to meals, dances, and resources. Downtown is within an easy walking distance, as are restaurants, and the public library is across the street. The activity room has a small kitchenette for social gatherings. This room leads to an outdoor patio with a big water fountain and benches for sitting safely behind security gates. The apartments were clean and well maintained; no obnoxious odors. Residents decorate their doorsteps which include a shelf (so personal, lots of nice plants). The lobby has a small media room with computers.
