"I toured Timbers of Shorewood. I was impressed. It was very nice. They had a very nice kitchen with a regular-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, and cabinets. I checked their dining area yesterday. I didn't write any food, but they gave me a Halloween treat bag to take. The dining area was large. The place had a homey feel to it. The staff was very nice and very informative. She worked there for 15 years. They had a large game room. They had a one-bedroom. They have on-staff 24 hours, two nurses, and they showed me where their offices were."

"I toured American House Cedarlake. The units are the same. They're different sizes, but they're the same. It's the level of care that you get that makes a difference. My kids think I should go to assisted living, and that sounds reasonable. I like the unit they showed me. It's very clean and pleasant. The assisted and independent living people mix, and they have two dining rooms, but they often eat together. It's a very pleasant place. The staff during the tour was very nice. The woman who showed us around had been in touch with my daughter until they could schedule an appointment. And then any others we met going around the building were very pleasant, and the people who lived there were too. It was confusing the first time I went through it, but it's reasonable."

"The tour I had at Franciscan Village was very good. It was organized, and caring and had an overarching feeling of a faith community, which was very attractive to both my mom and myself. It just so happens that we're practicing Catholics so that was a connection. They have a chapel and they have mass every day and things like that that my mom liked. We saw an assisted living room and we thought it was very spacious and well thought out, especially the roll-in shower setup. The shower was very spacious and safe so there were no safety concerns for the individual going from a walker right into a standing or seated shower position. It was all flat. The room was very nice. Christine was my tour guide and she was very good. She deserves a good review. She knows her product. She knows the facility. She's been there for at least seven years and she did a great job. The product kind of speaks for itself. It's a very nice facility and it has a faith-based add-on that not all other assisted living and nursing care facilities have. So, the extra thing speaks for itself. She deserves a good review. She earned it and the place earned it, too. She's not selling anything. She's just showing you what it is."

"We visited Evergreen Senior Living - Orland Park and toured their assisted living for my mother-in-law. The community is excellent. I like everything about it, but the price. The room was very nice. It had a TV, refrigerator, and a microwave. The person who gave the tour was excellent. The dining area was very nice, but I didn't taste the food. The upkeep and maintenance were also excellent."

"We liked Clarendale of Mokena, but they had no availability. It was clean and friendly. They had a theater, an exercise room, libraries, and nice areas to sit down and relax."

"I've been a resident of StoryPoint Bolingbrook for over a year now. I'm very pleased with it. I like where it's placed. They allow me to have my little dog here and it's surrounded on one side by a park. I feel comfortable here. It's not like a city. Across the street is a church and there are stores. I can still go and get the things I need without having to have somebody come and take me in a car. I don't feel like I'm in the middle of a great big area that's just full of cars. It's a very comfortable place to live. I take my dog for a walk and it's nice to be able to get outside. I have a little garden club here and they let me do that. I have flowers and that's nice, too. I have a big bedroom and another room, which is twice as big as the bedroom because it's a kitchen and then a TV room. It's got a sofa and a TV and then there's a divider with a sink in it, and then a stove and a refrigerator. It's almost like three rooms. I love the staff. The staff is very, very nice. I can't walk, but I also have a lot of pain and I have to take a lot a medicine, and I have never had such caring people take care of me. They come whenever you ask. They take care of my medicine. Everybody has a call button on that they can wear. It opens your door and it also calls for help and they come immediately. I really, really like the girl that's in charge of all the nurses and people that help. She's an amazing person. She does a wonderful job of having this coordinated. They have a very good staff here. They have this man who is in charge of the bistro and he makes all these wonderful recipes for great food. It's not just cafeteria food. It's beautiful, it's good, and it's so different. You would pay a lot of money if you went into a restaurant and bought this kind of food. They do little things like that, and for different holidays, they do a lot of things. It's a nice place. There's a lot of food that I can't eat and they have a lot of choices. I don't have to eat everything. You don't just have one thing to pick from. The food is really good because you've got an option. The personnel are the most important thing about this place. The people that are taking care of the housecleaning know your name. I was so amazed. They know my dog's name. They call you by your name and they make you feel very wanted. They make you very comfortable from the day you walk in the door. I've never seen anything like that. They take good care of you and if you have something that is bothering you, you can go and ask them about it without thinking that it's gonna make people upset. You know that they will understand what you're talking about. It's very nice and very clean. There's a lot of activities going on. People can come and go in and play games. I'm going to go and play poker tonight. I've been doing artwork here, like oil painting, and it's really nice. There's a variety of different things that you can do. You don't have to do everything. You can choose what you want to do. It costs a lot of money for anything that you do. However, it isn't more than what I would have paid to live in my home."

"We toured Brookdale Orland Park and toured the assisted living for my mother-in-law. We liked everything, but it was the price that sold it for us. The rooms were nice. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. The activities and amenities were also good. Cable is included, the landline would be your own, there's no TV or a microwave, but there's a refrigerator."

"My mom was released from a rehab facility before having the medical equipment in place to continue her quality of life. The staff went above and beyond to work with other companies to get my mom the tests and medical equipment she needed. Mom is in the process of recovering but would have ended up back in the hospital, if it was not for the quick response and resources of Bickford. Thank you for all your help."

"It has apartments where the residents could bring in a caretaker, and they can actually live in there. Then they have a nurse and staff, but it's totally different than the other facilities that are memory care. They had a lot of activities, and it was a very clean place. They had a professional gourmet chef on staff. So, the food looks a little more than just generic meals. The whole facility is brand new. The staff member who gave me the tour, she was very knowledgeable. They have a little theater in there, and the activities were just basic activities. I didn't see anything extraordinary for memory care there that she explained. It just looked like there were more gourmet meals versus family style meals, I would say; there was nothing cooking at that time. The facility is very clean."

"My mom moved into Sunrise of Naperville. I liked the people that were there. We liked the space and the sense of security. We liked its location because it was very close to me. We just had a good feeling about it when we went, talked to them, and saw the place. We also had recommendations from other people who had loved ones there. The staff members are super friendly, very communicative, helpful, and flexible. The food is very good. It's a very nice building. They keep it clean and well-maintained. They have an entire calendar of activities that they publish."

"A wonderful concept of providing care. Instead of being an institutional environment, it is a comfortable single-family home that has been designed for this purpose. My grandmother loved the fact that she lived in a single family home, with three other residents, while getting all the help that she needed. I would recommend Golden Age to anyone who is looking for a place that offers assisted living. Like they claim...at Golden Age you don't live in a home, you live at home."

"Sunrise of Willowbrook was very friendly, nice, and clean. It was all good. I only met the director and a couple of people passing by, but everyone seemed very friendly. They had a nice little dining area and a little library. Everything looked very nice. The only thing is the room that they had, my mom would have looked down a dumpster, and that would be my main negative for that. They were very good. They were right up there. It was very good and very nice. The staff were great. The place could be a little more updated, but their population doesn't care as much about all that either."
