Horrible place!!! My loved one had bed sores, ignored most of the time, possessions stolen!!! The worst ever!!

I am at Continental Care Center. I am in a shared room, which is big enough for two people. The food is okay. They have activities like movies, bingo, and I know they have something in the morning

This past April my uncle in terminal condition due to Prostate Cancer was in nursing care counting down the days until death. At first a week out from him expiring, he was left bedridden fast asleep with the television blaring at full volume with nobody bothering lowering the volume or simply turning it off. The meals left for him or somebody else to spoon-feed him were nothing more but corner store peel-top processed items, such as apple sauce and milk. When he slightly woke up uncomfortable needing flipping over, the nurse needed to be paged well over five times before anybody showed up. The page came after being asked that many times to repetitively page over and over again. On his second to last day, his corpse of a body was found lying on a reclined bed facing the 42" flat panel with some random cooking show on air. With only a blanket slightly covering one of his sides, the nurses were in the back counting down the minutes before their smoke break.

This facility located is located on the north west side of chicago. The grounds are fair, and the common areas are the dinning area. This facility serves a population of mentally and medically challenged individuals. The meals are prepared and served by staff. While there, I witnessed residents smoking in the front area. I would rank this facility 3 out of 5 stars.

I am very pleased with The Continental Nursing Home. My sister had been diagnosed with paranoid szchizophrinia and she has been through sooo many different facilities that couldn't help her. The Continental is very clean, they have very friendly and courteous staff who actually care about the needs of their residents. Since she has been a resident she has gotten the help and medication she needs.She also has a social worker who is helping her to ecome more independant and helping her to get her life back. I highly recommend The Continental.
