A friend and I visit for dinner with a friend who is in memory care. The food is wonderful and you can tell that the manager (chef) takes care and pride in what is served to the patient community. The staff that I have seen is caring and compassionate. It hard to see a friend slowly lose their memory but it is comforting to know that he is in a compassionate environment. Again the chef is spectacular- his meals fabulous and worthy of 5 stars. And he cares that the patients love the meals. Truly a treasure. The facility itself is clean and the rooms, while not large are not cramped. And the staff that I have met are all cheery and kind. For what is a sad time ( memory loss is no walk in the park) I believe this a wonderful place for my friend.

My friend is in Artis Senior Living of Lakeview. He's in memory care. They were very, very helpful in doing the initial assessment. It's immaculately clean. The people are all very professional and more importantly, very friendly and kind. They made my friend feel welcome. They were very helpful for me in arranging for the occupational, speech, and physical therapy, which he needs as a part of his disease process. They have been very responsive. They keep me in the loop. I was there the other day for a Halloween party and all of the residents seemed very pleased. They have regular entertainment for the people there. They've been extremely attentive. I would highly recommend it to anyone who was considering this. It is expensive because it's a private facility. The staff is very warm, friendly and professional. The food is excellent. The first day I was there, they brought lunch out to me and another friend along with my friend who's a resident there now and the food was better than many restaurants. The chef came out and talked with us. It's very, very upscale. I did say no cocktail party for my friend because he can't have alcohol, but they have regular cocktail parties. I attended the Halloween party that they had with entertainers. They had a blackjack night in the monthly update that they send. They had pictures. I saw my friend was at the blackjack game. They've arranged his Covid shot forms for me to fill out. They're giving him the flu shot. They helped to set up occupational, speech, and physical therapy for me. They helped me with all of that because that's paid for by Medicare. That's not private pay. They've just been exceptional. A lot of the people there gave me their cell numbers. If I have any questions or concerns, they tell me to call them and when I have called or left messages or emailed them, they've immediately responded. It's exceptional. They're also the only one in Chicago that is applying for certification by SAGE, which is a big statement. I'm just very happy. It is expensive, but I've looked into private care in his home, which is even more expensive. Artis is a Godsend to me because if they had not accepted my friend and listened to me, he would've ended up in a lockdown facility or some state mental hospital, which would've been disastrous.

I visisted the Artis Senior Living of Lakeview two years ago, before they opened. It was a brand-new facility then, nobody was in there, and it looked beautiful. They have good rooms; very adequate. The location is fantastic and right in the city. The guide there was very very good. It is a beautiful facility and they have four or five buildings that connect with each other.
