The food is unappetizing. The cnas sit around on their phones instead of interacting with the residents. I waited a month for a dental appt to remove an infected tooth. They sent me to the wrong dentist and the infected tooth still sits in my gums. If you are leaving your loved ones here,.buyer beware.

My brother is at Aperion Care Lakeshore. They seem to be very attentive. I had a chance to talk to the social worker, and they seem very invested in helping my brother. They seem to care. I like the fact that they communicate and that they are trying to work with my brother. This area appears to be very nice. I didn't find it to be threatening or create any concern about my well-being in that area. It's also a couple of blocks away from the lake.

I’m not thrilled about Lake Shore Healthcare & Rehab Centre. There are just some things I should not have to bring to their attention. I don’t think that the care that dad gets is adequate. They should be more proactive about making sure that he is bathed, that his teeth are brushed, and that his clothes are changed. He has dementia -- that’s why he’s there. It’s relatively clean, but the atmosphere is not particularly appealing.

My grandmother was here in her latter stages of Alzheimer's Disease from 2007-2009. She fell and broke her hip and the last yr she couldn't walk. The demands this provided forced my mother to find a home on the North side of Chicago with easy public transit access. There were some nurses I didn't care for and the food left much to be desired, but her facility doctor, the receptionist and the home director bent over backwards on several occasions when it came to her care, and the accomendations. They came with high marks from her primary doctor. The difference from ordinary homes was the homey decor. They had a library, computer lab, hair salon, and a common lobby with jukebox of oldies. This made the environment less sterile than a hospital. The facility is situated 1block from Lake Michigan, so for the access residents get to the lakefront on summer days made it more comforting. My grandmother lost her battle Feb 16, 2009. 3 yrs ago this week, and I'll never forget the tearful embrace the admissions director gave me (I lost my mother only 6 mo earlier) b/c the staff became very close with both women. The hardest part of submitting a love one to a home is finding pple who will genuinely give a damn in your absence. For a temporary time, we found that there!

This facility is located on the north side of chicago. The grounds of the facility are fair. The residents appear to be well connected to the staff. The adminstration are very personal with residents, and while I was there I noticed how caring staff were to the residents. The residents greeted myself in a friendly manner. I would give this facility a 4 out of 5 stars.
