"Sylvan House was close to where my mother used to live, so that is why she wanted to go there. The staff were very good. They had all kinds of activities there. They had movie nights and they also went on walks, played games, listened to music, and they had someone playing the piano in the evenings and stuff like that. The food was okay. She had a really nice room. They didn't have any transportation that took them places -- that would be my only complaint. "

"It has been a pleasure of mine working in healthcare, while going to college for nursing. Working at a few of our local facilities in the area, two being assisted living and the other being a skilled nursing facility, has given me a great understanding of what it takes to provide quality care for our seniors. Coeur d'Alene Homes has not been one of the facilities in my career, but it has been an incredible place to visit. The staff that I have dealt with so far (mainly marketing and front desk) has left me feeling pleased and respected. The facility itself is beautiful and though I have not had the chance to see the entire place, the lobby, dining area and Alzheimer's unit are gorgeous places for the seniors to live their lives and feel comfortable. Negatively, the only thing I can say is that when information on possible admittance for a resident we had at the facility I work at. It took a long time to get a response and we eventually had the resident move to different facility. It is in my opinion however, that if Coeur d'Alene Homes had accepted her, she would have been happy and the future check up visits would have been a pleasure. They are a non-profit from what I found which is an added bonus in 'my' book and you can easily look them up on the web. It has been great having a chance to tour the local facilities in the area. There is no 'one' best place for 'everyone', but Coeur d'Alene Homes has a great facility for 'most'. "

"When the time came to place my parents in an assisted living facility over two years ago, I knew that the quality of care and staff were the most important considerations. Based on my interactions with staff and my actual observations, I am convinced that my parents are in good hands. The pandemic caused unusual challenges but I was able to stay in frequent contact with staff so I could get updates about my parents. I feel comfortable that my parents are in a safe facility with caring people and I am glad they reside at the Courtyard."

"Fields Senior Living at Spokane Valley is a beautiful place, but it's a little too formal for my parents. It felt more like a four-story hotel than it did a senior living place. It was very beautiful inside. They are a fairly new building and the smells were good. The gal there was wonderful to talk with. I really enjoyed her a lot. There were lots of dark colors, browns and grays, things that don't show the dirt, which makes sense. The rooms were much smaller than the place that my parents are currently at, so it would not have been a good fit. The hallways were large and wonderful. I saw people sitting around playing games and putting puzzles together. They were very pleasant and seemed very happy. They have a bistro area that has ice, water, and coffee available all day long. No offer of food. They have nice elevators that move between the floors. It was a good experience. The one thing they don't do is they don't help with transitioning them to Medicaid at all once they run out of money."

"I can honestly say the environment, staff, and the healthcare provided to residents at Trustwell Living is excellent. Mrs. Barndollar is an exceptional director and such a wholesome person to be around. Also Melissa goes above and beyond her duties. Trustwell Living is blessed to have them both. This is an amazing Assisted Living Facility."

"I chose the facility because partly it's near my sisters and it's also a very nice and clean place. It has a good layout. It's all one level and it has a courtyard. The scenery is pleasant. Most of the views are facing green grass and trees in the courtyard. The apartments are nice. My mom's room is good. It's got a kitchenette and full size refrigerator. It also has a wide bathroom with walk-in shower. Their amenities are favorable, so overall I feel good about this place. Also one important thing is that they take medicaid assistance, so they're quite affordable as far as being able to use my mom's social security and medicaid. I think my mom will be happy and comfortable here. The staff seems to be good and they have a nursing assistant or a nurse on duty. So far it's been really nice so I would recommend this facility. "

"We visited and the intake staff was very pleasant, knowledgeable, very caring, and helpful. They continue to help me even though we're not ready for that level of care yet. Once we had determined that my aunt is not ready for that level of care, we didn't go far into the amenities. I didn't want to take up too much of their time, but they have been helpful to me via the phone for just general information (even after my tour, and even after we decided she wasn't ready for that facility yet). It's been very helpful."

"This facility has recently come under new ownership about 2 years ago. The rooms have recently been remodeled and the atmosphere is a great change from when we visited the first time in 2013. The staff are bright, cheerful and care about those they assist, the food was great, they have a great activities program and overall our experience was above par. I would definitely send my loved one here when the time comes. "

"We are leaning towards the Gallery at Spokane because of its price. While it was high, it had much better amenities compared to other places. We also liked the fact that it was a true age in place. If Dad potentially needed to move from independent living to assisted living, he would not have to move to a different room or a different building. They could provide either of those services in the apartment that he would rent. The apartment was impeccable. It's brand new, so it's clean and bright. It's very well laid out. It is updated and modern. We looked at their menu offerings and it exceeded the others. As opposed to the others, which had set eating times, or were limited to one meal or two meals per day, you can go down at the Gallery at Spokane Assisted & Senior Living at 3:00 in the afternoon and get a sandwich if you want from the bistro. You are not restricted to any particular dining area or any particular dining time. You get three meals and I liked that the dinner has a selection of entrees. We saw the gym, the hair salon, the common areas, and the outdoor spaces, and they were all lovely, well-designed, open, bright, and airy. We really liked having the nice concierge up front. It felt like an upscale condo/apartment or hotel that I would gladly stay in. The only thing that made it seem like it was for senior citizens is the handicapped accessible bathroom. Otherwise, it wasn't like some place my grandmother decorated. They were also very informative and easy to talk to."

"I toured Avista Spokane. The other residents in the community were extremely happy. We dropped in unannounced several times and they were more than willing to meet with us. We had a meal there. It's good food. They have studios and a couple of one-bedroom apartments. So they have a little kitchenette, which would be the microwave. The person who gave the tour was kind, considerate, and encouraging."

"My mother is in Guardian Angel Homes for a couple of months. It's very nice. They've done an excellent job for us; they've been very helpful. They call or e-mail quite often to keep us updated. She seems to enjoy it. We have never been able to go in there, just because of the Covid rules at this point. She seems to be very comfortable in it. They seem to have activities in the afternoon, and couple times they've taken a few people out for like a little drive. So, seems to be good. I think that they do a good job. After talking to some other places that were a lot more money, I think this one is pretty reasonable. She's in the assisted living, but she does have her own apartment, just by the community the house that she lived in. I thought it was very, very nice. People are very nice to work with, and she seems quite happy there."

"We toured Garden Plaza of Post Falls for my parents. Everyone was friendly and the residents were all saying, "You want to move here" as we were going on the tour. We were just a walk-in, we didn't schedule an appointment, but they took us right away. And then when we were able to do a more thorough tour, they took us on everything. We loved the garden. My dad wants to be able to go outside, but we can't have him outside, and they have an inner courtyard that you can go to, and it's just beautifully cared for. And so, they can do that. They have the meals that are there that meet my mom's needs. They've got a variety of sizes of apartments that supports what my mom's looking for. They have, not only a doctor but a dentist on-site as well, along with the rest of the amenities that are there. And they do a lot of extracurricular-type things. When we were there, people were coming back from horseback riding. I thought that's good because you need to stay active, and especially with my dad being active. So, it was just a lot of those little things. Val and Tamara were wonderful. And what made them that is the fact that even though we were just walk-ins, they immediately took us on a tour. They made time for us, and they get back to us. And they were also kind. On the second time that we took the tour because we had a little more time, they took us up into a little conference room area where we could sit down and have a good conversation about what we were looking for. They took the time to understand what it was we wanted so that they made sure they showed us exactly all the things that we wanted. And then a few other things, like they said, "Well, you didn't mention this, but based on what we're hearing and seeing from you, we think you would find this good," and they were right. Everything is way better than in some of the places we toured. I wouldn't have even thought of some of the stuff that they've got."

"My mother is in the Life Care Center of Post Falls. The care there is excellent. She has been there for four weeks now. The staff is very caring. I haven't seen anything I didn't like. It's big. It's clean. It doesn't feel like a nursing home. They have physical therapy. After she was not in quarantine for her infection, she was taken out of her room and gone to one or two different places for physical activity, mostly in the form of games, but also in exercise equipment. She has no complaints at all about anything."

"I was referred by a friend to look at Living Springs because I was looking a place for mom. When I first walked in, it felt very homey. I was looking for a place with a fireplace and that was the first thing I saw. It felt very comfortable. The people all looked very happy. The residents that were already there looked very happy so I was really taken by that atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and caring. They were very willing to show me around and to tell me what they could provide. They seemed very happy with their work. The rooms are very clean and decorated the way that my mother would have liked and its comfortable. They have a very big library. They had a sun room where they have exercise equipment for the residents to use. They have TVs and card tables setup. They also have a calendar of activities posted for the residents. "

"We chose the Lodge at Riverside Harbor because they have an area where the residents can go outside. They can’t get away, but they can go outside and be in the sunshine. Almost everything has been great, and the staff has been great. They have lots of activities, and they have my mom involved in those. They had to take her to the doctor for us a couple times; they did that, and things were smooth. The food has been fine as far as I know. I really haven’t eaten any of it, but she seems to be doing OK. Her apartment is really nice. It is not elaborate, not huge, but it is pretty big for her to have a bed, a desk, and a chest of drawers. It is a beautiful place. "

"My mother has already moved to The Renaissance at Coeur d'Alene. It's really nice. They have food and she's getting 24-hour care right now. They have activities every morning, they also have a schedule. They provide three meals a day. I haven't eaten it, but it looks pretty good. They have good staff. It's pretty expensive, but it's pretty good."
