My mom is at Sunabella of Towne Lake. We are enjoying it very much. She has a studio apartment with a very nice large handicapped bathroom. She has a little microwave and a little refrigerator. She also has a door that accesses a little porch out to the courtyard, so it's very nice. She's in a wheelchair, so it's enough room for her to get around. It also has nice windows so that she can see outside in the gardens and stuff. I have not tried the food but only their iced tea and cookies. My mom can't eat gluten or dairy, but all that I've seen look good. They have a very nice activity director; Katie is wonderful. They have a nice activity room. She does exercises, and they have people come in from outside to do singing and things. She does games and manicures, and they have a movie day. It's a smaller community. There are only like 35 in the community, so there's no swimming pool, but they have a beautiful outside garden with raised beds. They also have a screened-in porch for barbecues and stuff like that. They're pretty up-to-date. My mom's room was recently painted. It has new flooring and new countertops. From the ones that I've seen in there, they're all maintained to that level, which is nice. The staff has been super kind to my mother. They're very friendly and very nice. They do every two hours check on the individuals like if they need a restroom or if they need anything. And they provide a pendant that's a call button. When my mom pushes it, someone comes almost immediately. There's no real wait time. It's an old building. I think recently with the freeze, they had pipes burst, so they had to do a whole lot of new construction for that. But from what I can tell, at least from my mom's room and the areas I've been to, it's well-maintained and it's clean. For us, it's a good cost. My mom has extra-tiered service. Their meals and room are one price, and then depending on their needs, they have extra tiered service, so you don't have to pay over and above what your person needs. If somebody is more independent, then your charges are less.

My in-laws (both are 93 y.o.)are staying here. They have been dealing with air conditioning problems since April 19, 2024(text messages to support). Today is June 19th and they still do not have functional central air conditioning. The facility has provided a small window unit that is rated for 250 square feet. The unit is approximately 580 square feet. Both of my in-laws are on oxygen and the room temperature for the last several days has been above 80. The family keeps getting excuses from management about fixing the problem. These people do not need anymore excuses they need solutions. The hottest days of summer are yet to come.

The lady at Sunabella of Towne Lake explained everything. She's knowledgeable. She showed me around. I saw a cook there. They do activities there for the residents. The upkeep was good. I got to see a couple of rooms. The facility was clean.

Sunabella of Towne Lake was very nice. I especially liked that they had a center courtyard that had plants, and all of the units opened out onto that with a little patio area. I thought that was very nice, and the lady that showed me around was very nice, too. It's a smaller community, so there's personalized service there. The dining area looked just like a regular dining area, so it wasn't anything special. They have everything socially distanced with the tables and the way that they had the seating set up. The facility itself looked very clean and very well kept, and I actually saw somebody cleaning while I was there. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. It seemed like she was really there to help me, and was really interested in my parents and what she could do for us. It sounded like she would really try to look at their needs and the things that they like to do, and it sounded like she would plan activities based on what they like for the community.

HIGHLY IMPRESSED I visited a few weeks ago, the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable they all greeted me with a smile. The residents were very well taken care of and looked very happy. The rooms were large and at a great price! I was impressed that there is not a lot of turnover in staff. And that courtyard is beautiful! We are not ready to move yet but when we do this is the place we will go to!

Insignia of Towne Lake is very nice and quiet. It is in a good location. It is also clean. The residents seemed content. However, it didn't have all the amenities that the other community did. The place was very traditional-looking in their decorations. There were a few people in the recreation hall. They were making jewelry; they were having a good time. It was fine if you weren't interested in the same activities. There was no pool, but it was a smaller place. It's probably easier to navigate for some people. It might be an easier place to be acquainted with other people, so it did have its own advantages. The person who helped me was very nice, friendly, personable, helpful, and informative. She took me on a nice tour, and she answered all my questions.

I didn't care for Insignia of Towne Lake. I didn't taste the food, but it smelled bad and didn't look that good. The residents didn't seem happy, didn't want to talk, and seemed grumpy. One of the hallways smelled like urine. The staff was amazing, and the lady who did the tour was very nice and sweet. The prices were a little bit less.

Savannah Grand is very nice and very clean. They have smaller dining rooms, but they have two, and they have screened-in porches. You can sit right outside on the porch. They have 2-bedrooms, a large living room, and a bath. For the bath you can go in either from the bedroom or the living room. I went unannounced, they showed me around, and I enjoyed it. They even sent me a card thanking me for coming. They have a lot of activities, and they sent me a brochure.

We really like Savannah Grand for my brother. My brother likes this facility too. He was really impressed with it. We're very happy with that one but right now, there are some things that we're trying to deal with first. The place was very clean. Their courtyard was just fantastic! The facility itself was conveniently located as it was very close to my brother's children. They all live in the same area. The staff was very nice. The residents were happy and they're smiling all the time. They have a lot of good programs for them and that's great! They have bingo, wine-tasting night, parties, and once a month they go out to eat. They also have church there on Sunday and that's a good thing. There are a lot of different things there that we're very impressed with. We had lunch with them and food was very nice. We enjoyed it. Fish was the main thing for that day, but there were other things you can order. Then they have short-order menus like hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, etc. The dining area was really nice. They have all-white tablecloth and silverware and they would wait on them. It was just like walking into an upscale restaurant. Overall, this facility was the best one that I looked at and also the people there is what's going to get me because, if you're a resident there, and they are all smiles when they greet you, then everything must be okay.

My sister lived here and every time the family and i visited she had a smile on her face clean clothes shoes and just as happy as she could be. Whenever we would come she would always introduce me into that same CNA and tell me how the CNA was her bestfriend there and was always helping her look her best.

This facility is easy to get to"”in a more upscale area of Woodstock. The building is designed in a square with a walking and sitting area in the center. And as you go through the interior, there are pictures of residents scattered throughout the common areas, which is a nice touch. The rooms are very spacious, although a bit small if two residents share. Every room has a private bath. As for food, few variations are offered. Residents generally have the same menu unless there is dietary some restriction. The activities offered are basic, although there are many offsite outings. The staff also encourages residents to go out into the community as appropriate. There is no specialized memory care at Savannah Grand, but those who need more care are allowed to hire in-home workers for help. One nice feature is an online newsletter that allows family members and others who are interested to keep in touch with the residents' happenings. Another huge advantage here is the executive director, who is very particular about matching residents with the specific care they need. She also is very hands-on in running the place"”making sure that visitors sign in at the desk to ensure security. The nurse's stations throughout the facility are not enclosed, so there is eye contact with residents and their comings and goings at all times. The executive director also requires staff to take ongoing training"”and there is very little turnover in their ranks. In fact, although the staff is mostly very young, you can see the love in their eyes when they care for residents, which is a huge plus. The cost is $2,200 per month and up.
