"We really like Savannah Grand for my brother. My brother likes this facility too. He was really impressed with it. We're very happy with that one but right now, there are some things that we're trying to deal with first. The place was very clean. Their courtyard was just fantastic! The facility itself was conveniently located as it was very close to my brother's children. They all live in the same area. The staff was very nice. The residents were happy and they're smiling all the time. They have a lot of good programs for them and that's great! They have bingo, wine-tasting night, parties, and once a month they go out to eat. They also have church there on Sunday and that's a good thing. There are a lot of different things there that we're very impressed with. We had lunch with them and food was very nice. We enjoyed it. Fish was the main thing for that day, but there were other things you can order. Then they have short-order menus like hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, etc. The dining area was really nice. They have all-white tablecloth and silverware and they would wait on them. It was just like walking into an upscale restaurant. Overall, this facility was the best one that I looked at and also the people there is what's going to get me because, if you're a resident there, and they are all smiles when they greet you, then everything must be okay. "

"I have only seen the cottages at The Holbrook of Woodstock because the building wasn't open yet. They have 16 cottages, and of their private cottages there are only 2 large 3-bedrooms. They're beautiful, very well-equipped, and the whole place is very nice. It's fairly expensive as well, it's around $6,000 a month for a couple but everything is included. They're going to have many things, and you get 700 for food at their restaurant. They have 3-bedrooms, 2-bedrooms and 1-bedroom apartments, and the price would depend on the apartment that you have. It's very nice. Everything was discussed during the tour, and we asked questions. The place itself was very attractive."

"I moved a family member to Canterfield several months ago. She is very happy there and is receiving excellent care. The facility is clean and bright and all of the staff is very friendly and nurturing with the residents. The dining staff has taken great pains to ensure that my aunt (who currently is the only resident who is a vegetarian) has a balanced diet with plenty of food choices. I'm very pleased with the selection of Canterfield as my aunt's residence and would recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, caring environment with various activities available to the residents."

"I thought the tour I had at Golden Rose Personal Care Home was very pleasant. The director was excellent with the information that she provided and how they operate. The facility was very clean, and it gave a very homey feeling. I enjoyed it. The dining area was inviting and cozy at the same time. The rooms just looked like the most comfortable place to be. The director was informative with the tour. She actually provided me some information, as far as what to look for in trying to make a decision with my father and what to expect. She was telling me about the price range, and she was really patient with me. She even asked if I had any other questions or concerns about anything because she had been in the field for so long. She was happy to help out. I like the setup. The residents were in the entertainment areas, and they were all engaged. They had an outdoor area and several of the residents were outside and talking to each other."

"Green Park Senior Care Home offered both assisted living and memory care, but I talked to them about assisted living. They don't have a separate part for memory care. The place was new and clean. The lady that greeted me was knowledgeable. She's been at that business for a long time. I was looking at some of the residents. They were sitting in the lounge area watching the TV, and it made me depressed. It didn't seem like they were active. I don't know what they do to make them active. They were just sitting in their wheelchairs, just quiet watching the TV. There was not a lot of stuff going on to make it a lively place. The rooms were nice. She showed me a single room, and it was pretty nice and a nice size. I also saw a double room. I didn't really go in because there were two people in there. The double room looked like just a regular room. To me, it wasn't a big room. It was like a hospital double room. It looked very clean. It's right off of a major road, Highway 41. It's set back from Jiles Road, so they would have the peace and quiet. Behind it has a lot of nice tall trees. When springtime comes, the seniors could sit in the sunroom and watch the birds."

"This is an extremely wonderful place from the staff to the great living arrangemens. I spent most of my days enjoying karoke, and enjoying the wonderful field trips to places such as zoo atlanta and fernbank "

"We went to visit The Oaks at Alpharetta but they didn't have space available. They were at the top of our list. I liked the accommodations, I liked the cleanliness, and I like how welcoming the staff was. It's a huge facility, it's well-kept and it's secure. The staff who gave the tour was very pleasant and very understanding. The overall facility was excellent. For those who could go out, they would take them out on outings. The rooms that I saw there were excellent."

"My mom stayed for respite at Bright Rose Personal Care Home's assisted living in Marietta. They loved her and wanted to welcome her back. She had a really good stay, and everybody really loved her personality. She got along well with everyone. She really enjoyed herself, and they enjoyed having her. It's a good place. The only thing is that they have one person there who smokes, and my mom is a non-smoker now. That's the only thing I saw that I didn't agree with. Other than that, they're really kind and very nice. They attend to the residents who live there. It's not overcrowded, so you can still get individual attention, which is really good. It's a home-based facility, and very neat, very organized, and very stationary. There's a lot of room in there for the residents to move around and watch TV. They have a sitting area if they want to go outside and sit and relax. The bedroom where my mom slept was very nice and neat. The comforter, the bedspread, and everything about it were nice. For activities, I know they have somebody who comes in and does exercises with them. They have activities that kind of get their mind refreshed."

"The Oaks at Post Road is a very nice community. The tour was wonderful and the staff was very accommodating. We looked at their independent living and they transition to memory care. They also transition to hospice. I looked at a one-bedroom apartment. You get your own furniture, and it was very nice and accommodating. They have so many activities for the residents. I was very impressed with all of their activities. I was very impressed with the place.The staff who accommodated me during the tour was amazing. They couldn't have been any nicer. I met with people beforehand. She took my dad up there and the staff suggested that we have lunch. We had lunch and a tour, and it was very nice. The layout of the place was wonderful; it was beautiful. I have visited many other places but this one is reasonable in terms of price."

"Atria North Point was fabulous. The food was superb. The men that served us were like butlers. It's older, but it's very nice. You can eat either lunch or dinner, your choice. It was the best food that we've tasted at any place. They have a swimming pool. We would have liked a one-bedroom apartment, but that would be too small for us. The pool, the downstairs, and the weight room were older. It wasn't on par with some of the newer facilities, but the staff was superb."

"I toured here, it was smaller and a little more quaint and personable. We walked in the front door and we talked with the lady, and she showed us around. There were two main hallways of rooms, and she told us the difference. There was a studio, a one-bedroom, and a two-bedroom. We went down each hall and she did show us a couple of examples of the ones that she could. We did see the dining area, which was just one dining area, and there was a memory care unit. They had several different courtyards, and they did have a few amenities. One thing she did say they do, which I liked, is that on the 4th of July, Labor Day, and probably because it's a smaller facility and more personable, they have cookouts for the assisted living people and tell them to invite their family. I did see some other caregivers, but the few caregivers that we did see were pretty friendly. I just heard them talking to other people and calling them by name. They just seemed very accommodating."
