What ongoing training does the staff receive in dementia care?
4 hours of ADRD training annually, plus on-going in-services.
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
2 staff during the day 1 staff during the night
What programs or activities does Generations Senior Living at Lake Miona offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
Individualized activity plans on each Resident's personal history. For example, if Mary had a green thumb, we would create gardening activities for her. Being small communities, we are able to spend one-on-one time with each Resident, as well as offering group activities, such a music therapy, "Remember When" discussions, etc.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
Our staff Physician and ARNP see Residents monthly, as well as on an as-needed basis. We also have a Neuro Psychiatrist who will come as needed to evaluate Residents.
How does Generations Senior Living at Lake Miona keep residents' families informed about their loved ones' health?
Families and friends are welcome to call any time. We also have Resident Advocate who keeps families updated via phone calls, texts and e-mails. In addition, we have an active Facebook page, Generations Memory Care, that provides pictures and information about our day to day life.
