Legacy at Highwoods Preserve was beautiful. The guy was very accommodating. They'll take pets up to 35 pounds or two cats totaling 35 pounds. They have a covered smoking area down by the front door, and if it rains, they have a covered smoking area on the second floor. That's all well and good, but my friend is not going to go down by the front door and smoke. Every hallway had a mini kitchen, a game room, a place with soft chairs, and a place with a table out in the open for the residents. There were two on the first floor and there were two on the second floor, so there was plenty of space. They had all kinds of really cool activities, like happy hour with a live piano player and a poker night for the men. They had a sports room where they played ESPN and football games. There were game tables so the guys could play cards up there. They had 35 men in that facility, which I thought was a lot. So, they were catering to the men as well as the women because most of those places were all old ladies. When we got there, it was after lunch, and they were having a cornhole championship game and it was a hit. They were having a great time, and men were playing, too. There were probably 20 people in this big horseshoe playing this game. They were having a grand time. I was very impressed that there were that many people. Then we passed by a couple of people doing puzzles and a couple of people just meandering around who were saying hello to everybody. It was great. That's my first choice. They were just really nice people there. That place only had one elevator, which I thought was cool because everybody wouldn't be lost all the time. They had a courtyard in the middle, and then it was sort of laid out like a spider. It was laid out very nicely. One of the guys there had taken up making a flower garden in the courtyard. He had all these plants out there that he tended to every day. They were very proud of that.

My mom passed away a week ago. She lived at the Legacy for 2/1/2 years. The Legacy was amazing to my mom. They treated us like their family. I visited my mom every day I saw that all the residents were treated with the most respect and care anyone can ask for. The staff was so helpful no matter what you needed. There were lots of activities for everyone. The director there is amazing very involved in everything. My mom was 101 and they gave her a big party when she turned 100 just like family. I made lots of friends with the residents since I was there a lot. I will be going back to visit that is how much it was like a home away from home... I cannot say more positive comments about THE LEGACY.... I will miss my mom, but I know she was well taken care of.

The Legacy at Highwoods Preserve was good. It was nice. They are only about half capacity, so there weren't very many people out. The rooms were nice. The person who toured us was not a salesperson. He was a senior VP. He is higher up, but he was brand new. He didn't know the whole way around the find things, but he did fine. It was good. We toured a 1-bedroom and will deal with more like a studio, we're told. They called it the open floor plan for two people. I don't think the open floor plan works because the bed is literally behind; it's just all in one space. There's no division to build up. One person goes to bed, and one person stays up and watch TV or whatever. They were clean and nice, but a little small. They had a movie room, card room, craft room, and game room. They have an outside porch kind of area. Then where the rooms are, they have living space with TVs, kitchen spaces, and things like that. They didn't have a nice outside space, which was kind of sad. They have beautiful grounds because they're out there in the preserve. At the back where they have a sidewalk and some chairs, the chairs are sitting right next to the dumpster. They don't really have a good outside space. The dining area looked nice, and it was clean.

We toured Legacy at Highwoods Preserve. It was OK. The rooms were small, and it was expensive for the size of the room. That was the very first tour I did. The staff was very good; we got a lot of information from her. They did have a lot of activities.

I visited this facility

Legacy at Highwoods Preserve was in a country club golf course like setting. It was amazing-looking. From the outside, it looked like an expensive resort and it's beautiful. It was right off the interstate and I was trying to make it beneficial for my other family member in Florida to go visit, but traffic is everything in Tampa. They had a studio, so we're talking less square footage for just a little bit more. It's high-end as far as assisted living. The staff was very nice and very lovely. She had to find out if their care staff could facilitate my mother's colostomy bag, so that ruled her out as a candidate to be there because it was too much care. It was very nice though. I would like to go some place like that when I need assisted living. It was that beautiful, and everything looked very nice. They had a movie place to go watch movies with gorgeous recliner chairs. It's like everything you could possibly ask for out of a luxury assisted living. They had everything. They had private rooms for dining during family gatherings. Their dining room and the lobby were beautiful. It was the nicest place. It looked like a chef was preparing their food because when I saw the plates coming out, it was very high end.

Legacy at Highwoods Preserve seemed very nice. The studios were an adequate size. They had activities, and we saw residents sitting around visiting with family. It was kept up and maintained.

The Legacy is a more upscale home for seniors. It is very well-appointed, the architecture is nice, and everything is still fairly new. It’s got good views around the facility as well, so we were quite impressed with it. They have a doctor on-board, an exercise program, church in the building on Sundays and so forth; they have a lot going on. They got a great billiards room and a snack bar kind of thing,;they got nice amenities.

Legacy at Highwoods Preserve was very good. They gave us a great tour and really took the time to show us the different rooms that could be available and everything. They had a number of people in the lobby doing different activities. It was very good. The lady was very helpful and has called me twice to check up and see how things are doing. Their rooms were more like studios.

We have moved my mother into the Legacy at Highwoods Preserve. So far, so good. She is having some issues adjusting right now, so it has been challenging. The Legacy is a beautiful, clean place with wonderful people. I have nothing but good things to say about it right now. My mother has a one-bedroom apartment, with a walk-in closet, which is wonderful. She gets three meals a day, and they do laundry and cleaning once a week. There are lots of activities andtake them to different places. She has all kinds of different things going on. They have only been open since September of last year, so they’re not full yet. The staff is very attentive, and everyone knows everyone’s names. So far, it has been wonderful.

My dad is staying at Legacy at Highwoods Preserve, and it's very good. The staff members are very nice, professional, and attentive. They take them on field trips, and he likes it. The dining area and the food are good. People are moving all around the place, and the staff is taking care of the patients, so the place is alive. It feels more like family.
