My grandmother is at Avante At Mt Dora. She has been there for three weeks now. It has been fine. They have been treating her very well. There have been no concerns. The staff are really good. We usually call them to check in, if we're not able to make it up there. They are very responsive. They do good. It is a clean and warm environment. It seems very comfortable and quiet.

Avante At Mt Dora, Inc. is real good. They're on top of their residents and everything. I would recommend them to someone else. I have visited my brother there and they do everything by the book. They even go further beyond some of the stuff that they do for the residents. The place is very well kept up. Right now, he is in a three-man room. Everybody has their own space, their own telephone, and they have two bathrooms there. So, it's pretty good. They have a lady who comes every day to do/cut their hair. They also have a library and bingo every Thursday night. From my experience of me going there to see my brother, I would choose to go there myself if I have to. However money-wise, the cost you have to pay is just high.

My father is in Avante at Mt Dora, Inc., and the layout was fine; the appearance outside was fine. I've not been inside. The staff members during the move-in, the transition, and everything, were very nice and cooperative. They always tell me that he's eating good, and he's doing okay. The staff has been really good in talking to you, and informing you about things that are going on in the facility.

The office staff are very interactive with the families of the residents. They are always available for questions wither by phone or meetings. There are "Pan of Care" meetings with family members and Avante personnel, a representative of each dept, to discuss the care and needs of the resident. They are strict to follow the state and Federal laws and put above all else the care, comfort and well being of the residents. There are activities every day which are posted by each bed in every room so residents know the dates, times and location they take place. My mother has been in Wing 2 for over a year, so I can only tell you about that staff. Most of the CNA's take great care in their patients and are friendly as well as knowledgeable. I love all the nurses! They are a stellar team! I always recommend Avante of Mt Dora whenever the subject comes up in conversation.

My cousin has been in Avante at Mt. Dora, Inc for therapy for two months or so. Its low key and not fancy, but they have activities that you can get involved in, so he has been doing that. He gets along very well with everybody there. They all like him. Its a good fit and two blocks from where we work. Its very convenient for us to see him at least once a day, if not twice a day. They have a rather fancy dining room if you want to go down with two sides, one for long-term care, and one for physical therapy. Each side has a common area with TV, a sitting area with couches, and dining. Each day they come and ask what he wants for food, give him his choices, and he picks from those. He seems to be doing just fine. The staff are all very nice and very helpful. We have very good communication there. Its nice, clean, and doesnt smell when you walk around, and they seem attentive. They have bingo, chess, checkers, Wheel of Fortune, and constantly doing stuff.

Great therapy team and the best place to go for 7 day a week therapy! Don't be hesitant that facility is a little dated on the outside as they are currently renovating but you have to get IN the door to meet the staff and therapists. They offer more aggressive therapy than the other places!

This place doesn't even deserve half of a star, let alone 1. My dad was recovering little by little at the hospital but he still needed some therapy. He was placed at this rat hole avante where he got worse and was always sleeping! Where my daughter ran out the room my dad was in because there was a huge water bug in the room. This place needs to be investigated and shut down asap before they harm anymore love ones. Please... if you're reading this review, DO NOT place your love one here. God bless us all.

Avante at Mt. Dora is definitely off my list. It was a rehabilitation place and wasn’t very nice at all. I just didn’t care for the atmosphere. As far as I know, they were trying to improve. They are in the process of fixing it up a bit. There were people all over the place with no designated people telling anybody what to do and was pretty much just an open area.

This place is terrible! It smells so bad you gag. Looks dirty. My partner was not allowed to get out of bed and it took forever for someone to answer him when he needed to go to the bathroom. The food was served cold, not even warm. There were spiders climbing up the wall. All in all, not a good experience.

Avante at Mount Dora was fine. The food and service were good. The people took good care of me. Everyone was nice. I was there for a rehab. Everything was nice and clean. I was in a large room for two with closets, bathroom, TV, and air conditioner. It was a great room that was quiet and peaceful.

This place really needs to be shut down if I could get my dad out I would!!!!!! I have not one nice thing to say my dad broke his hip and is in here for rehab , he has to sit in the bed and wait for me to come 30 min to get him up to go to the bathroom because they will not answer the call lights he has been on the same meds for years but for 4 days they have not given him the same meds any time they give them some which he needs. then for supper they give him a bologna sandwich and a banana maybe for lunch but not for supper. I am so wanting to get state involved . there is this weekend night nurse that does meds she is the meanest person I have ever met. and buy the way i'm a nurse myself and this is uncalled for!

Avante at Mount Dora is a very nice facility. The general air is one of cleanliness and the employees seemed quite capable. When my aunt broke her shoulder she went there to recover and having alztimers she was a very difficult patient, but they dealt with her exceptionally. She had had some difficulty at her last care facility, but she settled down considerably once she was moved to Avante. They had a beautiful piano in the foyer which she got to play and that made her quite happy. The service she received was excellent and the food was good too. The only thing that really bothered me about the experience was that the nurses referred to her by her first name. I felt that using her last name would have been a little more appropriate, but it was really no big deal. Overall I was very satisfied with the service they provided my aunt and so I give them four stars for their performance.

I visited avante many times. My mother used to work there for 7 years before she quit. About 3 years after that we had to put my great grandmam there.During her stay My expeirence there was good and bad.THE GOOD I have to say that most of the stuff nice and kind to my great grandmam.THey took her outside when she wanted to go out. Some of the stuff word play games and talk to her. When mom and i couldn't make it and i think she really liked that.THE BAD The bad things i saw made me nervous to have he staying at times. there are some stuff members that really needed to find a new job because they did not respect the ones living in the facility. Last but not lease great grammy alway told the food awful.
