"This is a decent, comfortable facility. It has a hotel feel to it. The individual rooms come fully furnished. There are different floorplan options depending on a residents need for space.The one that my grandparent chose is a one bedroom. They have their own privacy, but they can host guests if they want. The living room is spacious; it easily fits a couch set, a coffee table, and a TV. There is also an emergency button that gets access to 24-hour staff, just in case an emergency happens. There are also regularly scheduled times where staff will come and clean the place. Additional services (i.e. changing clothes, medication regulation, etc.) can also be arranged. There is a nice community feel. Most residents are retirement age. There is a wellness center, where residents can exercise by themselves or join classes. There is also an on-site physician and an exercise center. There is also a pool. If my grandparents don't want to swim, they can also visit the library. There is a range of books to choose from. There are also gardens and nice walkways, where my grandparents can go outside and take a walk. If they get hungry, there is a cafeteria that serves customized meals. For my grandparents, who both have dietary restrictions because of their diabetes and high blood pressure, this is a very helpful service. If they need to visit the surrounding areas, there is free public transportation to the nearby grocery stores, hospitals, banks, etc. It could't be any more convenient. "

"White Sands La Jolla was gorgeous. It was just expensive, but I could see why it was beautiful. They had stunning viewpoints from their patios and their rooms on the beach right there. The staff was nice. The building was beautiful. The events that they had were amazing and their dining area was like a retirement facility. It was huge. They had different levels and buildings for the type of care that would accommodate the residents. One thing that was different about the room there was that my friend would not have had his own room. He would have been sharing with somebody and we needed him to have his own room."

"Redwood Terrace has very good ratings, and from what I can tell, they deserve them. They watch their assisted living folks very nicely and check on them every couple of hours. For the most part, they have it together. Their assisted living doesn't matter how much or how little assistance you need, unlike other places. Plus, they have a full-care nursing facility available. With all those things combined, they're the obvious choice."

"We went to Covenant Living at Mount Miguel for activities, people in our organization lived there, and we've been out there to do cookouts. It has pleasant surroundings and it's a nice facility. It looked like something that would appeal to us. As a guest, and for the things that I saw, I was impressed with it. It was clean, well appointed, and the lady's room we visited was a one-bedroom apartment. We also visited a house outside the perimeter, but it belonged to them."

"My Mom was not ready to go into an assisted living facility.......but since she has been there we find that we have to work around her schedule to visit. The activities are endless as well as the friendships that she has made. It is a family environment from the General Manager to the staff and care givers. You can't go wrong leaving your loved ones in their hands."
