"The Fountains is very clean, and the caregivers are all nice. They sit 24 hours at night, and you don't have to worry because if somebody gets up, they have the censors in the room. That was one of the problems I had because my husband would get up at night, so this was the solution. They keep them active during the day, so you're tired and sleeping better. They don't keep them in their rooms; they keep them in the front part doing things. They have exercises and a lot of music, people that come in and sing, and outings to the harbor. Every day, they give you a calendar, and it changes all the time. They have a lot of things because they try to keep the residents active. Their dining room is nice where they have small tables of four. It isn't like a big table with real table cloth and all the plastic and stuff; it is classy, and the place is nice. They have a one-bedroom, which are more expensive, with individual rooms and bathrooms. He has one that is like a little apartment, and then there is going to be another fellow in this room, but he has his own room, and they share a bathroom and a closet. For me, it was a little less expensive, so I decided on that, but you can have different types of accommodations. It was recommended by my daughters, and as a matter of fact, my sister said, "The only place you can put him in is the Fountains." I know people that had their husbands there, and they are given very good care. "

"After my father passed away, my brother and I started looking for a facility for my mother to spend her remaining years. After visiting several places, we found Walnut Village in Anaheim, Ca. Our mother has been a resident now for 5 years. It is a first class facility....that is no exaggeration. It is truly the quality of Celebrity Cruise Line on land. From the staff, the cleanliness, the dining room which looks like a 5 star restaurant that has menu items like Filet, Scampi, and beautiful salads and even a salad bar. To the piano lounge with "Happy Hour" every night. Residents can bring their own drinks or use "wine lockers" there. They offer various types of assisted living services including an entire memory care unit. The facility has a very unique way in determining the monthly fee you pay. The facility even has church services on site for various denominations as well a full exercise programs, library, arts and crafts room and even on-site hair salon. An underground parking garage is there for residents who drive. They have a shuttle that takes residents to appointments, shopping and even a day trip monthly to Pechanga Casino and wine country. Everything is included so no money is ever exchanged. 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms are offered and cleaning and daily nurse visits are provided. It is right near Disneyland so the residents can enjoy the nightly fireworks. If you want your loved one(s) in a first class living facility, Walnut Village is it!!"

"My mom is in Rowntree Gardens. It's beautiful, one of the nicest places in that area. They have a huge garden area. They have a library, a fitness room, a TV area, and a big, huge dining area. Rowntree Gardens is very big. They have a schedule of activities that you can go to. She has a list of things that she can go to. When she first started, she enjoyed the different activities. They have different areas, when she goes to see the doctor, they have a whole wing for PT, doctor visits, and things like that."

"What I liked the most about Oakmont of Capriana was probably the activities. They play Bridge (I am a big Bridge player). I love dogs, and they have places that overlook the dog park. They allow pets. I was also impressed with the menu in the dining room. It looked pretty high scale. They pretty much have the same stuff as the other facilities like housekeeping and everything. They have a washer dryer in the unit itself if you wanted to do your own laundry or you could have somebody do it for you. The two-bedroom that I looked at was like a house. I was blown away by the size of the apartment. It was huge. The one-bedroom was fairly good sized, too. Everyone was very friendly. There were more people up and visible when I visited. The only problem was the entrance fee. It's $50,000, and that's a lot of money. They actually wanted a $500,000 deposit and you get 90%of that back. It is still $50,000 that you're paying just to live there, and that doesn't cover your monthly fees or anything. That's just the entrance fee. I thought that was a little high."

"Everything at Oakmont of Chino Hills looked wonderful. The environment was fine, and the staff members were very helpful and knowledgeable about the place. It is just that they don’t do the care that I am looking for for my mom. I was there at lunchtime, and we were invited to stay, but we had another appointment to keep. The food looked very inviting."

"We went to Artesia Christian Home. Everybody there was very nice. I, personally, would recommend it. It was a little bit out of my price range, but she still might end up there. The staff was very knowledgeable and very understanding. They helped me because I did not really know what I needed. They had an activity rooms. It was an older facility, but they had a new part. They had small rooms, but in the newer section, the rooms were bigger and a lot nicer. The older section was old. They now had memory care, which they were building. They also had duplexes there. I thought they were great. "
