"Westmont of Riverside was a very nice, very friendly, well-maintained facility, and that would be a possibility when we're ready. We went to the big multistory building, not the individual homes. It had beautiful grounds. It was a very attractive building. Everybody was very, very nice. In the dining room, there might have been 35 or 40 people getting a mid-morning snack or something, waiting for perhaps the lunch to begin. Everybody was very, very courteous and accommodating. Robin took quite a bit of time to explain everything and do the tour. We saw the two-bedroom unit and the one-bedroom unit and they're very attractive and very lovable. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and accommodating. We had a cup of coffee and a glass of water. We saw the dining room and the menu. She explained how the menus work, and the different choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was great. They had a big covered pool, an exercise room, and a woodshop. They do various activities. They have bus service several times a week to doctor's offices, to a local grocery store, or to local shopping. They show a movie. They have large screen TVs on various walls in the facility, which tell what's going on in there. It keeps everybody up-to-date. We saw the calendar for December showing what they were doing all month long on a daily basis, which was nice because then you could choose what you wanted to do or just go down and sit in the chair and enjoy the sunshine. It's very, very nice. I was very impressed. There were lots of grassy areas and big trees. There was hardly any traffic on the various streets and roads that we drove. We drove through quite a bit of the complex just to see what was there. There were lots of walking paths. They have a dog park because when we do go to a senior living facility, we plan to take our dog and our cat."

"The Covington was clean and beautiful. We ate there and the food was extraordinarily good. The young people they had in the dining room were gracious and kind. They rooms were well planned. In the two units that we visited, the space was utilized very well. It had everything that a person could wish for, if they could afford it. "

"Regents Point had a park-like setting because it was adjacent to a park. The rooms were inside the compound. It was a little more modern than the others I've seen. I liked the location most of all because it seemed like when you step into the compound, you were going to a safe area; it just looked very safe and relaxing. The staff was very friendly. I ate in a snack bar, not in the main cafeteria, but I liked it. Several of the residents approached us and told us how much they liked being there. There was a huge ground crew there, which means there was another set of eyes watching the residents and looking out for them. "

"I visited The Tower on 19th's senior apartments. It is 18 stories, but every time I've gone in there, it's very clean and very quiet. I never heard a lot of noise, and I didn't see a lot of people. The senior community and the people that you meet there seem to be friendly. It's not an assisted living facility, and you have to be independent to be there. They have laundry in the building, and whatever floor you're on, they have a trash chute that goes down to the basement. They have a library and a place where they have a piano. The staff members are pretty good and very helpful. They tried to help me as much as they could. The apartments have kitchens in them, so they don't have food provided at the place."

"At Town & Country Manor, the physical therapy was very professional. They got a good range of therapists, and they were able to help make some progress with my father's condition. "

"Currently, my mom is at Merrill Gardens at Huntington Beach. She is in a large, beautiful one-bedroom apartment with a mini kitchen and a patio. The staff and services are excellent. They have great attitude and good spirit there. My mom chooses not to participate, but they do have lots of activities, like bingo, crafts, board games, and cards. The dining is excellent. It is like a three-star restaurant, beyond acceptable. It is very nice. "

"My sister stayed in Inland Christian Home, Inc. for rehab. It was very good. The lady who helped us is a sociologist. She's the one who operates the transition in and out and communicates with the doctors. She was really, really thorough. Everything is so nice and clean. Their equipment and people's ability are good. They were able to get her up on a lift and give her a shower, which she hadn't had for years. She had been getting sponge baths, and she began to look really good in her legs where she had lymphedema. They took care of that. She didn't really like the food, but she had to be on a puréed diet for a while because she would choke. Everybody was so nice; I would recommend it to anybody. We talked with them, and we didn't have any problems. Everything went smoothly; I couldn't have asked for a better place. The dietician only comes in once a week, so on the second week, we went and talked with her, and she got a change because she had improved. The physical therapy was good. They had two people working with her because she did not want to do anything."
