"The Fountains at Sea Bluffs was top notch. The staff was good. The units were beautiful and had high ceilings and high-end tiles. They had plenty of activities for senior people to keep them motivated and active. The weather was perfect since it doesn’t get that hot there within a mile to the beach. The only thing is it’s very pricey for what my grandma is looking for. "

"Walnut Village was fantastic. The people I met were really nice and very informative. The place and the layout were beautiful. You couldn't want for anything more. The person who accommodated me was brilliant. I had so much fun talking with her. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made you want to be best friends with her. The dining area and cafe looked great. I was able to see the skilled nursing facility as well as the memory care facility and both of them looked great."

"My parents are at Rowntree Gardens. They're very good. The staff is very nice and kind. They have pretty gardens and nice lunch area and there are several of them. There's one in their little building and there's a really big dining area. Their big courtyard is all gardens. They have some outside shuffleboard. They have little outside activities and music. They have a very nice suite that I got to stay in and it was 75 dollars, but that's not too bad. That was a plus. I think they like the food personally, but I didn't get to eat there. Value for money is pretty good."

"This was one of the better assisted living facilities I've ever visited as a student volunteer. The institution is divided into two wards: those who need constant medical attention and supervision and those who can care for themselves. Every week, I visited the later ward to provide some recreational activities. Each of the residents gets their own room and bathroom, which they decorated with their personal touch. The overall atmosphere is a gentile and friendly one. A few of the residents gets upset or depressed because they haven't seen their family in a while. But some of the residents who have lived there longer try to cheer them up by inviting them to tea or some recreational game. The supervisors always make sure that the residents have something to do most of the time. They have an aviary with some of the most charming singing birds, and a rec room with musical instruments and books. I understand that to upkeep a facility like this one comes at a considerable costs, which is the main compliant I've heard from other families. But, their loved ones receive the care that they should be receiving from home."

"Westmont of Riverside was a very nice, very friendly, well-maintained facility, and that would be a possibility when we're ready. We went to the big multistory building, not the individual homes. It had beautiful grounds. It was a very attractive building. Everybody was very, very nice. In the dining room, there might have been 35 or 40 people getting a mid-morning snack or something, waiting for perhaps the lunch to begin. Everybody was very, very courteous and accommodating. Robin took quite a bit of time to explain everything and do the tour. We saw the two-bedroom unit and the one-bedroom unit and they're very attractive and very lovable. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and accommodating. We had a cup of coffee and a glass of water. We saw the dining room and the menu. She explained how the menus work, and the different choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was great. They had a big covered pool, an exercise room, and a woodshop. They do various activities. They have bus service several times a week to doctor's offices, to a local grocery store, or to local shopping. They show a movie. They have large screen TVs on various walls in the facility, which tell what's going on in there. It keeps everybody up-to-date. We saw the calendar for December showing what they were doing all month long on a daily basis, which was nice because then you could choose what you wanted to do or just go down and sit in the chair and enjoy the sunshine. It's very, very nice. I was very impressed. There were lots of grassy areas and big trees. There was hardly any traffic on the various streets and roads that we drove. We drove through quite a bit of the complex just to see what was there. There were lots of walking paths. They have a dog park because when we do go to a senior living facility, we plan to take our dog and our cat."

"The Covington was clean and beautiful. We ate there and the food was extraordinarily good. The young people they had in the dining room were gracious and kind. They rooms were well planned. In the two units that we visited, the space was utilized very well. It had everything that a person could wish for, if they could afford it. "
