"I toured Belmont Village Aliso Viejo. I like that they had a pool. It was a large facility. I did an unscheduled tour, and they were happy to accommodate me, but it was not during mealtime. The apartments seem to be a reasonable size. They had a nice-sized theater there. They have 24 daily choices on their menu for dining, so a large selection of different things. They had a heated saltwater pool that was kept at 82 degrees. They made me want to go in their pool. They seemed to have plenty of parking. They have short stays like respite care, so that looked nice. Everything was clean. The staff was very friendly. Everyone spoke to me as I came through and said hello. It seemed like a very welcoming place."

"My mom will have lived at Heritage Pointe for 8 years now. She started in Assisted Living and has transitioned to Memory Care. The staff, many of whom have been there for many years, are all caring, professional and attentive. My mom loves Heritage Pointe, and we feel grateful that she’s so well taken care of. Heritage Pointe welcomes those of all faiths, but they do have a synagogue in the building and a wonderful Rabbi."

"None of us wants to be looking at Assisted Living facilities…but the need, too often, is unavoidable. As I looked at several in this area, I was most impressed with Ivy Park at Mission Viejo. From the first meeting, we were impressed. JP gave us the ultimate tour. He was patient with our kabillion questions and easily answered all. Everyone we met, from the Receptionist to the Director, the Activity Director and the Nurse, had a smile for us. Meeting up with caregivers along the way was also a positive experience. The Dining Room was very impressive - the food looked amazing with 3 specials daily, including a Vegetarian, as well as breakfast all day, sandwiches, salads, special diet offers - and great hamburgers and sweet potato fries! When you’re in the DR, you also observe how staff interacts with residents - respectful, light hearted, helping people find an open table, etc. The Wait Staff knows people by name and are very patient, as residents try and decide what they want to eat… The Facility, as a whole, is beautiful, clean and very well maintained - both inside and outside (Outside just got a new coat of paint). The rooms are a good size and prepared with a fresh coat of paint, etc for each new arrival. There’s an Activity list of the Day, which people have a choice of participating in or not. There are well-stocked additional rooms that include a library, art room, etc. etc. There are so many amenities. I am a frequent visitor and have never seen a negative interaction or situation. Staff is genuinely kind and compassionate. We have been very very pleased with the care. Assisted Living facilities are definitely expensive and you need to choose the one that works best for you and your family member. We would highly recommend Ivy Park at Mission Viejo. We definitely made the right choice for my husband."

"My husband moved to MorningStar of Mission Viejo. The interior organization there, they communicate well with each other. The management style is excellent. They communicate well between each department, so it's a very soft touch, but they pay attention to the information about their clients. The facility is great. It's interesting. It's a small building. It's not one of the biggest, most extravagant buildings that I've seen, but the staff is great. The food is amazing. The food is excellent. They do a good job there. My husband is a little reserved. He's not quite interested in that part of things, but it looks like they have a lot going on. They have an outreach program where they're working with the Saddleback Emeritus programming, and they're introducing some classes at their facility through Emeritus."

"We toured Crestavilla three different times. We like all of the different activities. My cousin wanted a two-bedroom apartment, and they had two-bedroom apartments available. That was very important. We like the restaurant. There was nothing about it really that we did not like. We liked everything about it. The staff seemed very friendly and attentive. The first time we were there, we had an omelet at breakfast time, and it was a very good omelet. It was very well prepared, exactly as we ordered. It was delicious. The building seemed to be very clean. It did not look like it needed any work like refurbishment or anything. It was in very good shape. It seemed to be well laid out. They had very large rooms. Some of the two-bedroom rooms are almost 1300 square feet. It's laid out nicely. When you go in, you feel like you're in a very nice apartment. It doesn't feel like a hospital room or a studio apartment or anything like that. It felt very spacious. The one that my cousin will get has two nice views out of her apartment. The bedroom overlooks the pool, and the living room overlooks Crown Valley Parkway."

"Woodbridge Terrace of Irvine is a beautiful facility. They are renovating it. So you get a newer feeling to it. You can tell there's new paint and new carpet. Even though they are still working in some areas, it's a very nice-looking place. It's clean and the garden is nice. They have things that are pretty much all that a person could ask for. They have a dining room, a library, and several lounge areas on each floor. They have a cafe but you could tell that the garden was the best selling point. The rooms I saw were nice big sizes, both with the terrace. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable."

"We toured Atria Golden Creek's memory care facility. I liked the facility very much. People seemed caring and willing to take care of the problems that present themselves in people with dementia, so that was a good place to be. The staff who assisted us was very good, open and friendly, cooperative, and answered all our questions. The memory care area was open and well-maintained. There were quite a variety of places. There were some indoor lounges, some outdoor seating, and walking areas. It was all very good. When we get to it, that would be one of the places that we'd be considering."

"I have toured Park Terrace and I liked everything about it. The rooms, the cleanliness, the atmosphere, it was a wonderful place. The staff was friendly, informative, and caring. They have a variety of things that they offer, and they have activities outside of the facility that you can take advantage of. Each apartment either had a patio or balcony, depending on the floor that they were on. The upkeep and cleanliness were excellent. They had a gym and salon, and they also had transportation and housekeeping. They offered everything that you want."

"Serra Sol Memory Care didn't look like an institution. It was modern looking. The staff was so attentive. They showed me the rooms. I like the room. We already picked out a room for my husband, and I liked the amenities that they offered. It's memory care. It's new, it's only about a year old. We did meet the chef, and he seems to want to cater -- in fact, my husband's Hungarian. And he asked my husband, What kind of food do you like? And my husband says, Hungarian. And he says, " Oh, I'll have to get some recipes." So I was impressed with the chef. It was so clean with no smells, no odors at all. They had large outdoor living spaces for visiting. You can visit anytime, day or night. Another thing I loved about the place, at least five days a week. They take the residents out in the van and they'll either go to the beach or go somewhere, or even if they just drive around. So in the afternoons they get them out, they just don't let them stay there, not just have to stay there all day long. I put a deposit on a room and they hold that particular room for 30 days. So now I have to go to the doctor. He has to have the doctor fill out forms. They're going to send a nurse out to the house to evaluate him. And they haven't made that appointment yet, but they'll be doing that shortly. He doesn't have to go there. They'll come to our house and evaluate his condition."

"My mother has lived at Aegis for three years. The staff is caring and attentive. During this time of a global pandemic, Aegis Living of Laguna Niguel has ZERO suspected or confirmed virus cases. The General Manager, Eric M., runs a tight ship - carpets regularly cleaned, walls painted, furniture & decor updated. The staff is exemplary. My mother would have been overwhelmed in a large residence - Aegis provides a family environment & personalizes care plans depending on your loved ones needs. I'm so grateful to have found such a great place - my mother is safe, happy, and healthy. My mother has just moved from memory care to assisted living and is enjoying her larger closet, kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator and sink. The building is circular with a protected courtyard - my mother loves doing her puzzle books in the courtyard while getting fresh air & sunshine. I can't say enough good about this place."

"What I like about Capistrano Senior Living is how friendly the staff are with one another. They have someone who was conducting happy hour where they had snacks laid out. This person runs some of the groups. He was very friendly. When he was introduced to me, he started singing to me. He had a great voice and then on the way out, he was conducting a group and he introduced me to the group. Also, my friend, who was with me, just thought that the ambiance was not a place where you just go to die. It was friendly and it was very clean. The one bedroom was not 100% of the space that I would have liked, but it was certainly a place where I could put my things and feel comfortable. I didn't taste the food but I was impressed with how clean the facility was and it smelled good. I liked the way the room was laid out. I always preferred to be on the first floor, but they had two elevators: one in front and one in back. The place they showed me was across the way from the back elevator. So, it would have taken me right down to the dining room, the meeting room, and every place that I would have needed to go. They take the mail to the person in their room. It was decorated very nicely for Halloween, but also for the fall in the lobby. My friend and I both liked it. Everybody seemed very friendly and willing to help. I was introduced to the nurse who told us that she had two teams: one that gave out medication if that was necessary and another one did procedures that needed to be done like changing, dressing, or something like that. I've been to other places that had nonrefundable deposits anywhere from $3500 to $6000. At Capistrano Senior Living, it was $2000. They explained to me that they would hold it for 30 days for $500. Then if I moved in, they would apply that $500 to that $2,000 and I would only owe $1500. So, it sounded like they were reasonable in their rates and it was a place close to where my grandchildren's school was, where they went. It was across the street from a shopping center that had one of the restaurants I ordered Doordash from."
