I toured Rose Garden Court. When you go in, it's like a home, not so much a facility. I talked to Michael, the husband of the administrator, and he said he has been there for 12 years and maybe even longer. He seemed very knowledgeable about the different diseases. My husband has Parkinson's, and Michael had patients with Parkinson's, and he seemed very knowledgeable about their treatments. He seemed like he was ready to take care of just about anyone. When I described my husband's condition with Parkinson's, he showed me the equipment that would help transfer him from bed to a chair. I looked at one of the rooms. It has a patio door. It has a nice view, and it's sunny. I like that appearance. The one thing that decided me against it was a 40- to 45-minute drive from where I live to the location where it is at. Right now, I spend an hour and a half to two hours with my husband every day at lunchtime, so it's just too far for me to drive. I didn't want to pursue it any further, and I told them that. It was very quiet when I visited at the time. One of the residents was snoozing on the couch and there was one in the TV room. I didn't see the other residents, but Michael said there were 12 at the time. He was very caring, and he answered all my questions. He was excellent. It was just like a family home. It didn't have the kind of upscale-ness that other places have. It looked comfortable and clean.

Food is run of the mill, and less when substitute cooks are on board. No visible activities to keep clients busy, and no evidence of physical activities. One big dreary room with a TV. Individual rooms are...bring your own amenities.

The tour I had at Rose Garden Court was good. The rooms were pretty decent and looked like they had enough room for one person. They have a nice backyard, where they can do things when the weather is nice. Michael was a real informative guy. You could tell he really cared about the people that were there.

Rose Garden Court is only one tiny place. There's no independent living there. It's surprisingly well run, and the director is very nice. It's very clean. I didn't see as many amenities though. It's like a family run place, so they will be very attentive to my aunt's needs.

I went to see Rose Garden Court in San Jose. The assisted and memory care were all in one facility. It was a family environment and they had a very solid schedule. They had a lot of hygiene routines for the residents too. They had some exercise classes in the morning and a TV room for them. Their shower is a community shower so the individual rooms do not have a shower inside. They just have a toilet and sink, and there's this shower that all the residents use.

I went to see Rose Garden Court. It's very nice and very quiet. The man who owns the facility is very, very nice and the people there seemed very content. I saw their assisted living and the design of it was good.

Rose Garden Court was a very comforting environment. The family who owned it gave me the tour, and they were very thorough and very caring. It felt homey, and it felt like it was more about personal care. The food was homemade, and unlike the places that were super fancy, this felt like being in a home kitchen.

Rose Garden Court is a nice facility and my husband is being treated well. The environment is very good and I like that my husband can go outside. So far, everything has gone smoothly. If we need help, the staff is very gracious about helping us. They take my husband to the meals in the dining room and they have him outside or in the living room. My husband's room is very nice, bright, pleasant, and has a sliding glass door so they're able to take him outside with a wheelchair. The facility is nice, small, and it's what my husband needs.

Rose Garden Court is the one that I liked the best. It is quite a small community. It is older, but it is kept up. They have two people to a room. They have a very nice garden. All the rooms have sliding glass doors that go to the garden, so that residents can go outside anytime they want. They have bathrooms in the rooms, but they don't have showers. The lady that I talked to was very nice. She seemed very knowledgeable and quite honest with us as far the shortcomings of their facilities. They have a good security system. They have certain activities on certain days. For the women, they have a beautician that comes in.

My Uncle is presently living here.. and I'm very happy with his care. I wanted a place where that had a homey atmosphere and caregivers who gave time to each resident. This center is caring and does all it can for the residents. I looked at many places that were "sterile" and "boring".. I visit my uncle several days a week. I see some folks in there that get no visitors. Rose Garden loves it when pets come and visit.. it's not a "spectacular" place but it's homey and that is what works for my uncle

Staff does not seem to understand instruction in English. After being told to give my husband thickened food and drink, I found them about to give him water - more than once - which would make him cough. The hospice nurse reviewed all instructions more than once because the staff didn't follow them. My husband had been bed-ridden for more than a year and had no pressure sores when he entered Rose Garden Court. Within a month there, he developed a pressure sore. After a holiday, I came in to find his sheet half covered in dried urine. Upon his death, in the middle of the month, hospice removed all furniture they provided. I was moving and busy with funeral planning and dropped by some days later to pick up a 5x7 framed photo and a small wall plaque - his only remaining articles. I now find out that not picking up these two articles constituted not vacating the room and was denied the partial refund to which I was otherwise entitled.. Pretty cold.
