Dubbed the Spanish Village by the Sea, San Clemente, California is home to beautiful architecture, award-winning golf courses, numerous parks and an extensive network of hiking and biking trails. Retirees interested in experiencing the area’s mild weather and famous beaches for themselves can use the free local trolley service to visit the San Clemente Pier or take a tour of the local dining and shopping opportunities along its route. To help the more than 10,000 citizens aged 65 and over who call the city home, the nonprofit organization Age Well Senior Services provides free meals and transportation assistance. The agency also operates the city’s Dorothy Visser Senior Center.
To help seniors discover the most senior-friendly locations around the country, Caring.com conducted a new study, “The Best and Worst Places for Senior Living.” The Caring Senior Living Report analyzes and ranks 300 cities and 50 states on the quality of senior living in that area. The cities were graded using 46 metrics across five categories: Health Care, Senior Living & Housing, Affordability, Quality of life, and Transportation.
