"Aegis looked like a mansion, a bowling green and like a southern plantation house. It was very expensive but it was like a hotel. They had a beautiful dining room where the patients would eat if they wanted to. Sometimes they just wanted to eat in their rooms but most of the people were taken to the dining room and they had a living room with a fireplace for when people came to visit. We went down there on Mother's Day and they had sausage and eggs. The administrator there was very nice and the grounds were gorgeous. It was really pretty, just beautiful. "

"One of the things that I liked at Crestavilla was that their two-person units for memory care had a vestibule that was probably eight by eight. The bathroom was off of that, and each bedroom had its own separate door. You're sharing a bathroom, but you could go into your room and close your door. So if your roommate had friends, they would be in their own bedroom. One unit was larger and one was smaller than the A and B units. But it looked like for someone in memory care the B unit would be plenty large. The one thing that I did not like was that they had a roll-in shower but there was no built-in shower chair. And that seemed sort of unusual for assisted living memory care to me. They had a gorgeous aquarium in the lobby area. They had valet parking that was complimentary, and then a doorman opened the door when I arrived. This was a walk-in visit unannounced. You have to sign in and out of the desk on a computer screen instead of just signing your name on a tablet when you come in. The staff seemed wonderful. Jeff, the sales manager who gave me the tour, was very friendly and answered all my questions. After we toured, he sent me a video of the two-bedroom unit that was vacant, so I could send it off to my sisters so they could take a look at it. I also liked that Myra called for follow-up and she was very fun and cheerful and seemed like she was very good with everyone. Everyone there seemed to know the names of all their residents. The facilities were very nice. They were rehabbing the unit that I toured. They just put in new lights in the bedrooms and painted everything. I was impressed with the level that they were using for upkeep and improvements as apartments became vacant. I like that they have a bistro and a grill so you can get hamburgers or sandwiches and things. It was a different dining menu option than just sitting in the dining room."

"My husband moved to MorningStar of Mission Viejo. The interior organization there, they communicate well with each other. The management style is excellent. They communicate well between each department, so it's a very soft touch, but they pay attention to the information about their clients. The facility is great. It's interesting. It's a small building. It's not one of the biggest, most extravagant buildings that I've seen, but the staff is great. The food is amazing. The food is excellent. They do a good job there. My husband is a little reserved. He's not quite interested in that part of things, but it looks like they have a lot going on. They have an outreach program where they're working with the Saddleback Emeritus programming, and they're introducing some classes at their facility through Emeritus."

"I toured Ivy Park at Mission Viejo. It was beautiful. I wouldn't say they don't have the care. We just really liked the designated caretaker that the other facility has, and they don't have that. But they had plenty of care, and the staff who gave the tour was great."

"We found Sunrise for my aunt. It was most homey and very clean. The staff was very nice and very friendly. We haven't had any problems so far. "

"My friend was in Belmont Village Senior Aliso Viejo. It was a fantastic place. I ate there. There was a psychiatry hospital right next door. It's a big complex. They gave really good care, they had excellent staff, and everything was topnotch. She paid a lot too. I give everything there a five: the food, their amenities, everything. I saw a movie over there with my friend. They have a theater room. She had some friends there and they were really nice people. The staff was very attentive. The residents have a lot of needs and they were there for them. The place was very clean. They had a lot of activities. My friend played bingo regularly over there. Her room was really nice and very clean. They cleaned it really nicely. It was a good-sized one-bedroom. Everything was good there. I don't think there was anything that wasn't topnotch."

"We liked everything about Ivy Park of Wellington - Laguna Woods, CA. My godmother was very happy and she liked it a lot. She would have chosen this facility had the price been within her budget. The staff was very nice and friendly, and they even offered us to stay for lunch, but we had another appointment. Their dining room was nice and clean. The front of the building and the lobby were very nice, and it was very conveniently located close to a hospital."

"Mom has her own apartment in Park Terrace. I can visit her anytime I want. I think the area is very safe. I would say she's definitely eating a balanced diet. But I think they could be a little more exotic with their food, a little more varied. The residents appear to be active and happy, has a lot of activities, they do a lot of brain games, and there's a park nearby, a lot of things you can walk around. The facility have a very warm and fuzzy feeling. It appealed to me because it seem to be more intimate. "

"If we decided to go somewhere, I think it would be here. It's five miles from the house, so we wouldn't have to take all our clothes. Plus, it's a beautiful place, and you're sitting there looking at the ocean. The staff were very nice. We stayed in touch by email also. They showed us a one-bedroom apartment. It was pretty nice. They had a bunch of activities. They had a library, social gatherings, movies, and all kinds of stuff. Everything was just nice. We had a wonderful meal, too."

Nice rooms, plenty of planned activities and events, and additional "common rooms" on the various floors with puzzles, games, computers, etc. Dining hall is very nice and the food is quite good.
