The Best Senior Living Communities in Napa, CA

"Diana was the one we worked with us here and she was phenomenal and so helpful. She gave great insights on how to help mom in the best way. Their amenities were outstanding. They had two 5-star restaurants and then another nice restaurant. They had snacks out that people could come and get at any time. So it wasn't just three routine meals. They were open all the time with snacks and if you wanted something extra, you could get it. You could either have the food taken to your room, like room service, or you could go to the restaurant. They had a happy hour in their general area so it was just phenomenal. It was luxury resort living. Diana showed us two studios and a one-bedroom. The studios were very nice with had very different layouts that would work well for anybody. On the first one that we walked down, I noticed that the kitchenette was a little bit further from the bedroom and the living area, which in our instance was a little bit of a walk, but for a regular person, it was just right there. The next studio was more of an all-inclusive. It was very clean. They had one that looked onto the courtyard in the center with all of its fountains and flowers, while the other one was secluded, like a parking lot kind of view that looked over the tennis courts and things like that. The one-bedroom was very spacious and very nice. They had very short hallways, so there was not a ton of walking and it's soundproof. You could be in the hallway and not hear any of the other residents' televisions or anything. It was well done."

"I toured the Nazareth Rose Garden of Napa for my mom. We chose it because it's close to home. She's closer to her family. The director is a caring person. I liked the facility, it was intimate. It's not a really big facility. Something that my mom can grow older in. Their dining room is exceptional, the food preparation is exceptional, and the quality of food is exceptional."

"My mother has lived here for several years. Her apartment is quite nice and the staff and caregivers are very loving and kind to her. She enjoys activities and they do a great job even though the past couple years have been more difficult with having to cut back some of the group outings and rides, they have still made my mother's life so much better than it would have been if she was home alone and isolated. The friendships and opportunities to enjoy good conversations with friends has helped keep her in good spirits. I would highly recommend Cogir of Napa Road to anyone who doesn't want to be lonely at home anymore."

"I will move into Cogir of Sonoma Senior Living. There was a wide-open common room, and some women were playing a card game, but for the most part, there was nobody in there, and that was fine because they were mostly out doing stuff, so that was one of the things that impressed me, that people were still very active. The common area was very nicely appointed and looked very comfortable. It would be a place where I would want to bring people or go in and sit by myself and relax. I went to a couple of places, and you were only allowed to put something on your door, like a wreath. I noticed that at Cogir of Sonoma, there are entry decorations on the floor, which is fine, going in the entry, and going towards your door. Somebody put out one of those butler statues and that kind of thing, and I like that. There's a little bit of flexibility. We were not there during the regular lunchtime serving time. So, it was around two o'clock, and the food was delicious. It was very good. Everybody around my table, kids and adults, ate it right up. The staff was over the top. She was good."

"While we were there on the tour, Hannah knew every resident we walked by, and she took the time to help them out while she was touring us around. She just had a lot of compassion. They gave us a couple of cannoli, and they were pretty good. They offered all kinds of activities throughout the day for the folks there. They have a salon, a movie theater, and an ice cream bar."

"My visit to Vista Prado was very good. The facility was clean and it had friendly staff. I liked that the residents were active during the day. They had activities going through the day and they were in a big common area to do those activities. They had wide hallways. The thing that stood out to me was that they try to keep the residents active and not just sitting in their rooms. The rooms were of ample size and very clean. The facility was nice. It had an outdoor area and a deck area, which was very nice. They had physical activities and creative activities. They also had music and arts."

"My dad moved into Cogir of North Bay Senior Living. We've had a positive experience. We're happy with the place. They're taking care of my dad really well. They have all the meals, medicine, take care of medicine, and all the nursing. Everybody is really nice. They do housekeeping, laundry, everything. They have restaurant-style dining with different options every day. We haven't done any of them, but they have a big list of activities, quite a bit of activities every day, and they change often. They do movies, games, and trips to like a casino and to a museum, and things like that. They also take you to your doctors' appointments."

"I want to recognize the exceptional service at Cogir Vallejo Hills under Susan's leadership. After a measurement mistake with my storage shelving, Denice from management immediately assured me, "Misako, don't worry. We will take care of it." She coordinated with Albert from maintenance to re-measure, return incorrect shelves, and install proper ones. Having moved to Cogir Vallejo Hills five months ago, this experience confirmed I made the right choice. In any organization, mistakes happen—we're all human. What truly matters is how those issues are handled. Susan's team demonstrated exceptional care, compassion, and efficiency throughout this situation. I'm grateful to Susan, Denice, Albert, and the entire team for their dedication to resident satisfaction. This attentive service creates a community where residents feel valued and heard. m.m."

"I'm at The Lodge at Glen Cove right now. I went to three communities, and The Lodge is the most modern, the most caring, has the most money invested in it, and it's the newest. And in addition to that, it's right on the water in Vallejo whereas the others are stuck in the woods somewhere, and there is no scenery whatsoever. In addition, the food is very good; I just came from breakfast. The waiters are very good. The front desk is very helpful. The security is very good. I could go on and on and on. I like it. They have a full activity calendar with music, games, and puzzles. Amanda, who is the activity director, and Tina, the assistant activity director, have been very helpful. That's something else that's important. They don't just have one activity director. They have an activity director and an assistant activity director so that it's available seven days a week. The same applies to maintenance. They have the head of maintenance (he's also in charge of the housekeeping) and then they have the assistant of the maintenance. Therefore, they're covering it for seven days, and they have to pay two employees, which is not cheap. Also, the parking is very good. There's a big parking lot. Even more than that, there are two buses that the community owns for outside activities, and in addition, a local public bus comes. The Lodge is very lively. In the other two places, the people were kind of sleepy. And I think that reflects on what's going on here. The value for money is better here than in the other two places but more expensive."

"Benicia Angel's Home I was amazing. I felt that it was exactly what I wanted my mother-in-law to be. The grounds were lovely and the house inside was lovely. Each bedroom had its own bathroom or a shared bathroom. It was very nice and very clean. The workers there were very kind. The owner took us on a tour and she was lovely as well. They had a backyard where they encouraged people to go out daily to get some fresh air and stuff. I had no complaints about it, except for the price."

"Paramount House Senior Living was well-maintained and updated. It had more of a hotel feel to it versus a convalescent home. Jennifer gave me the tour and she was very helpful and seemed to know all of the residents by name and said hello to them. She was very aware of the place and even gave me the pros and cons of it. Although she gave me a lot of information, it felt a lot like she was trying to sell me her product. The memory care was coded and secured so no one could just walk away. The facility is laid out well. Every resident has their own room with their own half bath. I was introduced to the staff (someone that did just medicine and then a coordinator that was there on-site at the time for my tour). They answered my questions and were very pleasant. They seemed to be interacting with the residents and speaking with them directly or helping them."

"AI took us on a tour with my mother-in-law and husband. Very nicely decorated, clean freshly remodeled rooms. We looked at both 1 and 2 BR apartments. The room chosen has a nice balcony with courtyard views. The food was delicious ordering off the menu. The Dining room staff were very friendly and considerate to my MIL requests for dietary restrictions. We could see they were interacting with other residents the same way. They offered extra help with move in needs. AJ was very helpful with the admission process and is great with follow up with any need or request we have. Thank you AJ."

"I liked MuirWoods Memory Care. It was excellent. It was just too far. If it had been closer, I would have picked them. Sean, the sales director, was so good at what he did. They were so helpful and kind. They gave me some cookies, and that almost sold me. It's beautiful, so clean, so quiet, and so professional. The size of the rooms was good. There was a courtyard, and the rooms go all around the courtyard on the perimeter. It's very convenient."

"I toured Windsong of Sonoma. It was very nicely appointed. It was newly upgraded and it seemed like a very nice community. The people that I saw there were friendly. The rooms are quite spacious. They were newly painted and newly carpeted, and they looked very clean and nice, and very comfortable. During the tour, the staff were very nice and personable. The manager that we spoke to was very knowledgeable and had some good suggestions, and it seemed like the few that we were introduced to knew what they were doing. I liked the fact that they were all in the same type of uniforms and that sort of thing. It was very good."
