My mom lasted eight days at your facility. The staff was very kind, and made my mom so peaceful and she seemed comfortable. Mom was at the point where she was sleeping all the time, and had stopped eating, so it was just a matter of time, but the staff was there for her 24/7. They changed her, they positioned her so she wasn't slumped over, and gave her pain meds as needed, they kept her hydrated, and advised us on every step what was happening, they made this process of dying so much more bearable. I highly, highly advise people who have loved ones that need assisted living or memory care, this is the place, and this was so much cheaper then all the other places we researched, by about 3-5k, and when your talking per month that is a huge savings. Also she had her own room, and they cleaned it every day, also left snacks for visitors. I can't say enough about this place.

My mother was a resident of Bethel for 20+ years. Overall she had a great experience during that time. On 10/24/2024 my mother was under Hospice Care and the nurse changed mom's status to imminent, her Pastor was coming over to give her last rights. My family and I were arriving to be present. My youngest daughter Gabrielle went into my mother's apartment and witnessed Lidia (a care giver) at my mother's bedside video recording/live streaming her to someone. She noticed my daughter and clumsily put her phone away and said she was sharing the video with a former employee who was a prior caregiver for mom. My daughter is still haunted by this experience; my mother was on oxygen, unable to communicate and fighting for her last breaths; and this is the last memory my daughter has of her grandmother. Difficult already but add the callous actions of Lidia; my daughter says she feels traumatized still. When I found out I was pretty angry. On Monday 10/28/2024 we were cleaning out my mom's apartment and I asked the receptionist if she could ask the facility Director (Melissa) to meet us in mom's apartment. I told her I wanted to file a formal complaint and asked my daughter to share what she saw. Melissa said that she was sorry and that this behavior was not acceptable. She said that Lidia's conduct would be addressed. Liz (a senior executive) came to the room to express her condolences and apologized for Lidia's actions, she said the facility had zero tolerance for this kind of offense and Lidia would be terminated. The incident was so hurtful to the family that we have wondered if they did terminate Lidia. I do not mean harm to people, but this was such a unconscionable act that Lidia should face adverse action. My daughter found out today (12/12/2024) that Lidia was still employed by Bethel. We were appalled and very disappointed. I called Bethel and asked to talk with Melissa, but she was unavailable, so I spoke with Liz. I explained to her how much this hurt us and how we expected a different outcome. She said she would call me back within 10 minutes and apologized again. She did call me back and indicated that the management company (North Star Senior Living) had personnel policies in place. She said she appreciated that I reached out and expressed my disappointment calmly and that that she had called the owner directly and he was now aware and that new actions would go into effect.

The tour I had at Bethel Retirement Community was really good. The staff was phenomenal. They showed me that they had different buildings and different facilities, depending on the amount of care the individual needed. Their rates were very competitive. I think they had the best rates of the places that I looked at. They had some activities going on while I was there and everybody was involved in them, so that was good to see. And they were enjoying themselves in the exercise classes and other things. They had a nice area for walking around. They had a library and they had a game room where people were playing games and Scrabble. The selection of food was surprisingly widespread. You could have 3 different choices at a given meal. They had different room floor plans. I was looking specifically at a studio because that's all they had available at the time. But there were different floor plans that they had for the studios. Some of them had a little mini kitchen in it. Some of them came furnished, other ones were unfurnished. The ones that came furnished were a little bit larger than the unfurnished ones.

The tour I had at Bethel Retirement Community was good. The facility was nice. It's a Christian community and my parents seemed to be interested in a faith-based community. The price was the best one we found. The rooms were larger. They're not as modern and not as polished, but they're very nice. They got a large bathroom with a walk-in shower and all the amenities. Their menu looked nice, too. They had a large activities room and a nice outdoor garden area with a pool, an area where they can walk around outside with nice trees, and a tiny vineyard. The outdoor area was awesome.

My mother has moved into Bethel Retirement Community. It's a nice assisted living, and she's pretty happy there. She's doing well there, and they take care of her pretty good. She has a studio. It might be a little small, but she doesn't need a lot. She's got a bed, a chair, a desk, and a television. It's a pretty nice community. They always have a caretaker on the floor. She's on the third floor, but there's always somebody nearby. There might be 20 or 30 residents on the floor. It's very clean, and they do the laundry every day for the sheets and clothes. It's a separate person that does the cleaning. They have nurses on duty, and they take care of her medication throughout the day. Even the grounds are well kept. The food is kind of bland, but that's for a lot of elderly taste buds. Food was offered, but I haven't personally tasted it. They have a movie they show every day. Most of the people in the building has Alzheimer's. My mom doesn't, but there's only a handful of them that don't have Alzheimer's. They have a swimming pool. They have a rose garden and some grass and trees. They have a patio off of the dining area. The staff is very friendly. They come in and check on her throughout the day. They call me personally at home and let me know if there's anything wrong. Everything's pretty good. They've got a beauty salon, where they can get their hair cut and is pretty reasonably priced. I think she gets what she pays for.

This past year during the Covid-19 Pandemic, I had the most wonderful experience of being a pen pal to several residents of the Bethel Retirement Community in Modesto. What a rewarding and delightful experience it was to get to know these two seniors through our weekly letters back and forth. It became apparent to me early on – that this place they called “home” was a wonderful community of loving people – both residents and staff. Both of my pen pals knew each of the staff by name, and when they described their daily activities and events, it was clear that everyone who worked there was involved and truly interested in their residents. One of my pen pals was a bit of a foodie – and she described many of the delicious meals they enjoyed, and it sounded like a gourmet restaurant! If you are looking for a senior community for a loved one where they will be loved and treated like family, you should really check out Bethel!

My father had been a resident of Bethel Assisted Living. It was very nice and clean, and the nurses were very friendly. They changed hands after he passed, which I was happy that he did not have to go through that because it was a lot nicer before he passed. The food went downhill because that is the way they are going to save money. When he was there, they had bowling and horseshoe, and they always celebrated their birthdays upstairs with a cake, and had entertainment come in. He likes the movies; they had great movies of places you travel to, and he enjoyed that. He had a tv and watched baseball on his ownpretty much. He was content. They had enough to keep him busy. They had a nice salad bar at first, but they took that out, and then it went to all these yuck food. They had a lot of issues with the elevator, otherwise they kept it up very well. If you have problem with your room, somebody will attend to it right away that day. It is one of the better ones in Modesto.

The tour I had at Bethel Assisted Living in Modesto seemed very good. I thought it was fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the cleanliness and how everybody was very nice. The apartments were very nice too. I think it's a good place. The location is perfect for us because it's near my mom's home. It's close to restaurants and stores too. They have rooms with kitchens and those that are just rooms. That's fine, you have your choices. They had a game room and community dining. The dining looked very nice and neat. I was not able to try their food, but they said they have special diet needs available. I didn't look at the outdoor area a lot, but it looked nice and neat. I liked the facility. I thought it was very homey and clean and nice.

We love Bethel Retirement Community, but it's out of our budget. The staff was really nice, open, and answered all our questions. Their dining area looked very nice, open and comfortable. They had a salon, workout room, and a pool.

When I visited Bethel Retirement Community, they were under staffed that particular day. I went in the facility, and I liked what I saw, but I did not see any room in particular. The place was very nice and very accommodating. The staff was very helpful for my particular situation; however, they did not have any opening. I had seen some residents, and they were enjoying a music seminar at that time.

The price at Bethel Retirement Community was more reasonable. I really like this facility. I like its location. I like the information that was given me by the staff who gave me the tour. People come in once a week to entertain the residents. They have activities that they do during the day to keep them busy.

The dining area was nice and big, and was right behind the lobby, and so it was easy to access. Bethel is a pretty large community, but there is a couple of elevators right in the front near the lobby and near the dining area where you can go upstairs. There are three stories of rooms, and I think the bottom story is for people that need more care, then the second story is for lesser care, and then the third story is pretty much independent. The room is about average from what I visited before. The one my grandparents ended up in is a one-bedroom with a living room and a kitchenette. There is a small swimming pool out behind the facility, and on the second floor is an activity room, a library, and a computer room. The activity room is where they do exercises every day before lunch. I hadn't called ahead and told my grandparents that I was coming, but when you call ahead then you are able to dine with them too. It seemed a good fit, so far, for my grandparents. My grandmother has hurt her back, and so they take their meals to their room since they can't make it down to the dining room.

We found a place called Bethel Assisted Living, and we will be moving soon. We chose it because the price looked good to us. The facility looked very nice, and we actually knew three people who are there already. It's beautifully landscaped, and it has a swimming pool; we liked that. It has the things that we want as well. The staff that we met was very nice and enthusiastic about taking care of people.

At Bethel Retirement Community, the staff is very competent. I'm incredibly impressed with them. It is actually very pretty, and they have a very nice courtyard. It is actually two separate buildings. They have a large retirement community building with a beautiful courtyard. It is kind of like a U-shaped building, and the courtyard has a swimming pool and lots of gardens that are very pretty. Separately across the parking lot just a short walk is their memory care facility. It is actually the place we need for my dad because he has quite an advanced Alzheimer's. It is very clean. They have lots of activities, and they put out a schedule every week with all of the activities. It is actually different for the memory care facility than for the rest of the facility. They have about 70 memory care apartments in the separate building. They do bingo, and they have people who play instruments. They do a lot of different things. The one thing that I won't forget is when we arrived, one of my dad's medication only had nine days left. The place we left at Washington did not give us the doctor's order that they need to tell them. They really took that on, they called that place, and they did everything they could to get that fixed. They were like on it the whole time, and they just struck me as incredibly professional. I was just totally impressed with the extent of their care and how professional they were. I was just blown away.

My parents haven't been at Bethel Retirement Community that long. It has nice grounds. It's a very clean facility. The staff is very good and the transition was very easy for my parents. They felt very welcome. They love the staff. They just have all kinds of activities. They have crafts, and then they have little get-togethers every month. Every day of the week, there are different activities. They take them shopping or whatever they need to do. The other people who live there are very nice, and as a whole, it has made them feel good about leaving their homes.
