"My grandmother was a patient in this facility for skilled nursing for 2 months for a fractured hip. Her therapy staff was outstanding and had a lot of patience convincing my 85 year old stubborn grandmother to participate daily in her therapy. The nursing staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. The care was very good. The building itself is very old and dated! The owner needs to invest in some new paint and updating the patients rooms with some cheerful bedding and wall hanging. Overall my family and my grandmother was treated very well by all staff members and the care was very good. "

"My mom recently stayed at English Oaks following surgery. She was very well cared for and recovered quickly. Her room was very pleasant and just outside the nurses' station. She was extremely happy with the meals - the food was well prepared, plentiful, and at the right temperature. She had a choice of what to eat at every meal. Every day she was helped to bathe and dress. She was encouraged to do as much as possible on her own, and she did do a little bit more each day. The family was kept well informed of what was going on with her. She received physical therapy and went to several activities. We would have been allowed to bring her cat to visit, but the cat refused! "

"Vintage Faire seemed to work out pretty well for her before she passed away. My cousin told me that my aunt was happy, and they seemed to give very good care. The dining room was nice and roomy. The place seemed very clean and well-kept, and the staff was very nice. "

"The facility smelled clean, but appeared understaffed. Some elderly were unassisted as they roamed the halls, apparently unaware of their surroundings. My grandma's roommate, in her state of dimentia, would intrude on our conversations as often as she felt pleased to from behind her curtain. The nurses were fairly nice while I visited, but I didn't feel that they were as attentive to the patients as they could have been. I also felt that some of their kindness was afforded on account of our visit. My grandma felt very lonely and often complained about it. On the other hand my grandma said the food was very good and I think because she herself used to be a certified nursing assistant she probably keeps a very favorable rapport in the first place. Overall the facility could use brighter lights in the halls, and the warmth of the staff could use some added assurance for some of the elderly that have been placed there. "

"I went to Bethany Home because I had a friend’s mom and dad there, and I know they have a wonderful reputation. They have a very loving and caring staff. The place is beautiful, very clean, smelled good, and felt homey. My friend’s mom is very happy to be living in the community. They had a lot of activities. "

"Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center seemed adequate and pretty clean, but I wasn't as impressed with it as the other facilities I've seen in the past. The staff seemed friendly and helpful, but it wasn't real homey."

"My mom is at Turlock Residential Assisted Living. My mom is very happy with the people that are there, and some of her friends are there. It seems like a good location because she knows more about it than we can find out about other places. She is very happy with the food. She gained her weight back when we put her there, and it is very good. My mom does a lot of walking. She walks around the building, and she has several other people who walk with her. They have movies. I know they just hired a new activities director, so I think there will be more activities to come. I know they have dancers and singers come. She watches those kinds of things. It is a very caring place. "

"Covenant Village of Turlock was alright except they wanted $40,000 to move in. The facility was fine, and their program was good. They had their own physical fitness person there. It looked like it would be a good place to stay. "

"My husband is in Elness Convalescent Hospital. The rooms to me are brighter. I think it gives the patients a more positive outlook. The hallways are wide enough for the wheelchairs and the nursing staff and visitors to negotiate without about having to bump each other. The nurses were wonderful. They are in and out of there all the time and if he is sleeping, they just make sure that he is sleeping comfortably. It seems like they are doing it more on a regular basis. The food and the presentation of the food are better. "

"My husband has been at St Jude Care Center. It was not a good place. The quality of care and the response time weren’t good. They always seemed to be short handed and the turnover of the staff seemed to be ongoing. They need to be full staffed. These people need constant care, and I don’t think you should cheat people out of what they deserve or what usually Medicare is paying for. The cleanliness wasn’t there, and it just didn’t feel right. I wouldn’t recommend it at all unless you went to it because it was in town. One thing they did have good there was the rehab department. The therapists there were very good; that part, we had no problem with. It might be OK for short term but not for very long term. "

"Manteca Care is very clean. The food is very good. The staff is very caring and nice. I really do not have anything bad to say about it. So far, my experience there with my mom has been very good. They have recreational activities, like music time. Everything is nice and clean. It does not smell like old people, like some places do. That in itself is very nice. "

"Vicente and I have a grandma staying at this facility currently, she's been there for three years now. I live close by the facility, so I get to visit her often. Every time, I go there the staff is very nice and helpful. The facility is always kept up. The facility is surrounded by farmland. The atmosphere is very inviting and friendly. My grandma is very active in her age and the facility provides lots of activities. My grandma has nothing but good things to say about where she's at. I am at peace with her being there. The staff takes good care of their patients. The thing I love most about the place is the visiting hours and the schedule they have for their patients at the facility, I also love the food they give them, and the few medical staff taking care of certain patients that need medical treatment. In overall I would recommend this retirement center to any family with elders that are looking to retire. "

"Grandma is in a rehab called New Hope Post Acute Care. The rehab people come in to get her to exercise, but she refuses to do them and if they push her at all, she slaps them. They kicked her out because she's been violent with the staff. Most of the staff was great, but the only thing I didn't like is that it was really hard to get the nurse to come to her room. Several times I had to go out into the hall and say we need their help. She didn't like their food. I tried it, and their food wasn't the best. Her room was pretty nice. It was a shared room that was more spacious than a hospital room. It's a clean facility. When the residents hit their button, they didn't come right away. Some people had to wait hours."
