My cousin moved into Astoria Senior Living - Oakdale. I liked the caring personnel that was there, not only dealing with me before he got there, but then after he got there too, and how helpful they are with everything. He's still going through an adjustment period, but they have numerous activities for him. They have live music come in and play. They have art, and he was a graphic artist. He's interacting with other people now whereas before he was a recluse practically in his house because he didn't drive. His apartment is adequate for where he's at, at the moment. He has a nice window that overlooks the courtyard. He has a private bath and a closet. I haven't tried the food, but I saw it because I've been in and it looks wonderful. They have a chef there that cooks, they have access to snacks during the day. I can't say enough about the place. One of the residents that was there, she's there temporarily in the assisted living part, and when I was touring the place, she reached out to me and told me that the place was wonderful. She said, when they say they treat you like family, they do. And so that was very encouraging to have one of the people that is staying there tell me how great it was.

My mom has been in Memory Care at Astoria since July 2021. Our family loves everything about the facility - especially the great staff. They take such good care of the residents, and we take comfort in knowing she’s in good hands. It’s a smaller facility so you really feel like you’re part of the family.

My father is moving into Astoria Senior Living - Oakdale. He is being evaluated on Friday. I've been there three times. It's a very nice place. It's smaller and it's not so like a hospital environment. It's more like a home-type environment. It has everything that the others have but it's smaller. He's gonna go into assisted living because they do a lot of the care for the assisted living as well. He doesn't qualify for memory care, so he's going into assisted living. They're doing some updates and when they get done, they'll be beautiful. They were all friendly and very informative. I saw some of the dishes and they looked really good, but I didn't have time. They have everything everybody else has. They're excellent. No gym, but they have outdoor courtyards and they have activities every day. They go outside, and they give them rides quite often. They have something going on every day for them. It's in a neighborhood. It's in town so it's close to everything.

Room was large and we were allowed to personalize it and make it homey. The staff took very good care of my mom and the facility was clean and inviting. Up until the pandemic they had bus trips, bingo, musicians, etc fir the residents. Their food is excellent. They have 3-4 family luncheon events where family members can join in with the residents. They are an integral part of the Oakdale community. I would highly recommend this place fir long term senior memory care.

My dad was in Astoria Senior Living Oakdale. Everything seemed OK, and the price was decent. The staff seemed very nice, they were there when needed, and the room was a good size. They decorated it, and it seemed kind of personal. They had a bus that would take the group out on day trips, but they've been on hold.

Astoria Senior Living Oakdale is a wonderful place. The staff is wonderful, very caring, and friendly. They pay a lot of attention to the residents. The place is very clean and has a very homey feeling. All the residents seem to be very happy. It's a good place. The food is excellent and they have a lot of homemade food, not just food out of the freezer.

My mom is in Oakdale at Astoria. So far, so good. My mom was pretty bad when she got there, but she seems to be coming around now. Astoria has a family atmosphere. It is bright and clean, and there are lots of windows. They have plenty of things for the residents to do. They have games, gardening, and field trips. Once a week they go for picnics in the park or to a casino for a buffet. Everything seems to be good; however, they need to improve on getting the laundry back to the right person.

I have never thought that I would want to be in an assisted living facility but Astoria has changed my mind. The staff is very caring and never too busy to stop and chat or give a hug. The food is wonderful and the outings are always fun. Today, we went to Chicken Ranch in Jamestown for a a lovely ride and lunch. There is always something going on at Astoria. Bingo, Happy Hour, musical entertainment and much more. It's a nice place to be . . . safe, comfortable and you couldn't ask for nicer people running it. I am very glad that I am here.

My mother has been a resident for about 6 weeks and we are very pleased with the staff. They are caring and kind. Even members of the housekeeping staff have stopped and helped cheerfully. My only complaint would be their providing a hot dog or tuna muffin as a meal. It would be fine if someone requested it but it is not something I would consider tasty or healthy . . . All over, I would give them an A minus.
