I feel that Manteca Care and Rehabilitation Center is a great place because the staff tries their best to provide the best care possible. My friend stays there and she loves the activities that the center provides. She enjoys sitting with her friends at bingo each week because she wins nice prizes. The food looks very yummy in comparison to other centers that I have visited. The place looks very clean. The nurses and CNAs work hard to provide the best possible care. The rehabilitation department provides daily rehabilitation services to the residents. After visiting other long term care centers, I have come to the conclusion that this center is one of the best in cleanliness, professionalism, and great care. I believe that the care of our loved ones should be a team oriented experience, and that the team members are inclusive of all of the staff and the residents' family members working together towards the ultimate goal of providing the maximum quality of care for the resident.

My mother was admitted to this facility on a Friday late afternoon, with a fractured vertebrae. Within 8 hours she was in the ER-her pain couldn’t be controlled. We were not allowed to visit on the week end, and during the week we were told we had to have an appointment and could only stay 30 minutes. Due to COVID they said. Really we are in the Orange tier now- restaurants are open, etc??????? My mother was treated with little regard and disrespect. The lack of professionalism is astonishing!! I am appalled at the treatment my mother received at this facility. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I would not suggest anyone go to Manteca Care and Rehab. I was not happy with the care. Some of the CNAs were very good, but some you need to go after to get them to do things. Unless there's a family member there prodding them, things didn't get done. They said they were going to do things like helping with using the bathroom, showering, and some physical therapy, but none of that happened with my friend. Twice a week when she needed a shower I would need to get on the phone with their nurse first thing in the morning or she wouldn't get her shower. I wouldn't recommend Manteca Care and Rehab to anybody. They didn't take the residents on outings; they didn't do anything really. They just left them lying in bed and they didn't get them up at all. The residents were just laying there getting weaker and weaker. There were three beds in the room. The room was clean; however, they kept my friend basically in a cubicle with curtains. They wouldn't open the curtains until we came in so that she couldn't even see the outside.

My husband has been at Manteca Care and Rehabilitation Center a couple of times. I like the facility myself. I think the cleanliness was good. The rooms and bathrooms were big and spacious. He’s in a wheelchair, so that makes a difference. I think they were a little bit short staffed because a couple of times, some of the nurses mentioned that they didn’t work for Manteca Care Rehab. Staffing needs to be better. They had lots of activities and places to sit outside. The issue there was there were a lot of long term ill people, and they would be up and down the hallways at night making a lot of noise; he didn’t like that.

My dad was a difficult patient came in with a bedsore from his assisted living facility. My first experience was getting snapped at by the nurse for not caring for him. After that the business office refused to speak with me and finally the Social worker(s) mainly Nicole but also Gina were difficult, unwilling to help and in my completely opinion unethical. Not only was she not an advocate for my dad, she was rude and combative and definitely not a paten advocate.

My mother was in rehab at Manteca Care for about three weeks. I think they did a good job with her. I had heard some horror stories and was a little reluctant, but overall, they gave her very good care. My dad and I were down there every day, so that might have made a difference, but for the most part, she was taken care of well. The food was excellent; so good, in fact, that I ended up giving them a card and bought the manager something just because I was so impressed with the food. My mother had not been eating really well, but she looked forward to lunch, dinner, and breakfast and was always told me what she was having and how good it was. I just thought that was really neat because the only joy some of the people in there get is from having a good meal, and they really provided that. The staff was very kind. I would recommend them for people that need rehabilitation. I think it is a wonderful place.

Manteca Care is very clean. The food is very good. The staff is very caring and nice. I really do not have anything bad to say about it. So far, my experience there with my mom has been very good. They have recreational activities, like music time. Everything is nice and clean. It does not smell like old people, like some places do. That in itself is very nice.

My mom has been at Manteca Care and Rehabilitation Center at least 3 times. I like it; it’s clean. They tried their best to accommodate the food that she wanted. The physical therapist didn’t let my mom just say no and give up. My mom would tell her that she doesn’t feel like doing it today, and the physical therapist would say that they got to do it. Then she would come back in an hour and get her up. They did very well in that aspect.

Seeing my great grandmother no longer able to care for herself was hard. My personal experience was not the best. The nurses seemed too busy to ever help. The facility appeared clean but it also depended on the staff. At the time there were not many nursing homes available so we did what we could to help her as her health quickly deteriorated.

I feel the level of care given is very low. They say my mom is tired and put her to bed in the afternoon, but then don't get her up for dinner. She was eating breakfast and lunch in the dinning room, but dinner in her room. I had to tell them I wanted her in the dinning room for dinner too. I had my mom at other places that knew her name and used it all the time, they don't seem to; the other places would come to the rooms and visit with them or when she was in hall in her wheelchair, they would always say "Hi", the caregivers here don't even seem to see the residents as they sit in their chairs in the hall. This type of care would mean all the difference.
