New Haven Care Home

My stepmother moved into New Haven. She liked it, and she decided that's where she wanted to go. So far, it has been very good. Last week, we drove up to see her in that facility, and we were very impressed. They serve home-cooked meals, and she said it's very good. The staff is very good. She can go out to a very nice backyard. They have a resident dog there that is very friendly to the residents. It's a house and it is very clean. It looks very homey. The bathroom is nice, spacious, and clean. Everything is nice.

I had put my father originally in New Haven Care Home and I liked it very much, but he was adamant, he wanted to go home, so we didn't stay there very long, but I was very pleased with their facility. They made him get up, get dressed, go to the dining room table, be a part of humanity, and I thought that was very good. It was very nice. Everyone got him involved in getting up and getting dressed and sitting at the dining room table and eating a meal with everyone and I felt that was very good. I liked it a lot. The staff was very caring. It's a very nice home. He liked the variety of food; it was very good. Pricing was right up there with everybody else. They had the front room, the family room, and the TV.

My mother was in New Haven Care Home for maybe six weeks. Residents walked when they could and go off-site. They had a garden, colored, and watched TV; that’s about it as far as activities go. New Haven seemed to celebrate in big ways, like inviting the families over and decorating for that. We had dinner out on the patio with our loved ones, which was very, very nice.
