Home Sweet Home is a board and care. It's a very quiet neighborhood. The home is very well constructed as far as individuals having their own private bedroom. Two of the staff members are there 24 hours a day, so it's a very one-on-one type of care. They don't have a separate memory care type of structure of activities. It's more of a home one-on-one type of environment. The surroundings were very nice. The backyard was very nice. Families can come in. They have a side gate and shaded covered tables and chairs, and it was really nice in that sitting area. Hercules has a nice weather, but it wasn't enough structure or enough activity that I would like for my husband (even though with the dementia, he's still very engaging in his conversation and that type of thing). They don't have that type of structure. There's one shared room and the others were private.

Care Home Sweet Home is ten minutes away from here. I like that It is a private home. It is very orderly and well organized. I think it is licensed to have five residents and takes ambulatory, non-ambulatory, and memory care residents. The staff is great. The owner/operator is very patient. She's there all the time. Her husband also is there part time. Her daughter is a second full time caregiver, and then she has another one that is part time. My mother's room is in the master bedroom. It is bright, sunny, really nice, and a very good size. It has access to the backyard right next to the bathroom. It is very convenient. It is spotlessly clean. The food and the dining area are excellent. They have activities, but my mother doesn't really engage and neither do the other ladies. However, the owner tries to make them do exercises every day. They have a TV. The other day, the owner surprised everybody with a cute little tea party out in the backyard. I absolutely recommend them to others. I like everything about it. It is very calm, restful, and homey.
