I found a place for my friend, and he is now at Aasta Assisted Living. The staff members are very caring and attentive. My friend's room is clean. It has an attached bathroom, a single hospital bed, and a huge sliding glass door so that he can look outside. They have a common dining area. It's one huge area. They also have recliner chairs and couches for them to sit and watch a big- screen TV. They play old, old TV shows that these people can relate to. During dinner, they play old music like Frank Sinatra and things like that. The food is very good. My friend can almost order whatever he wants. He likes hamburgers, so he just tells one of the nurses if he wants a hamburger for lunch, and she tells the kitchen. I have not tasted the food, but it looks good.

What you can do with Caring
About Aasta Assisted Living in Camarillo, California
Hello and thank you for your interest in Aasta Assisted Living!
Aasta Assisted Living would be honored to provide care to those important to you should the need arise. We are located in the heart of Camarillo and are licensed for 130 residents.
We strive to provide life enrichment daily and while we are not a medical model like a skilled nursing facility, we have a clinical team to support those in need of care services. Our care team includes:
- Community Physician
- Full-Time LVNs
- Med Techs
- 24 Hour Caregivers
We utilize an EHR system called Eldermark to ensure timely delivery of care and documentation for all of our residents. I am attaching our brochure which details our services and accommodations.
One of the most unique features of Aasta Assisted Living is that we are a one-story community on more than four acres with most rooms having outdoor access. Some rooms face our popular courtyard area where we recently rebuilt our bird aviary. We encourage engagement in community activities, meals and outings.
We have a new wheelchair accessible van to transport residents to appointments. And of course, we are here to help with all activities of daily living. This is the home of our residents' and the Aasta team works diligently to make their home comfortable and relaxing.
We are also excited about our new partnership with the Center for Applied Research in Dementia which utilizes the Montessori approach to resident care and focuses on a person-centered approach. Over the next 12 months, we will continue to see improvements in resident outcomes and employee culture. As of today, we are the only community in Camarillo utilizing the Montessori approach.
Monthly rates are competitive and all inclusive, meaning we won’t nickel and dime families with points and monthly add-ons. Final pricing is set after an initial evaluation with our Wellness Director. Our rates are rising and now is a good time to consider Aasta while space exists.
We appreciate your consideration and can be reached daily in our community.

Aasta Assisted Living seemed nice. It just didn't have any type of kitchenette at all for people that aren't able to get out and go to the dining room. Like they don't allow a refrigerator or a microwave in the unit. So, that didn't work. The unit was pretty nice though, as well as their dining room. It wasn't open when I went, but it seemed OK. The staff was friendly.

My husband moved in before he passed. I'd give them the highest recommendation. They were wonderful. It was nice, they were patient, the staff was always there for him, and for me. It was just a wonderful experience. The food was good, and he was able to get what he wanted to eat. Activities were offered on a daily basis, but he was quite ill, so he couldn't participate.

My mother has been here for a week. So far, it's been pretty good, and my mom is getting used to being there. It's clean and the staff is helpful. My mom's enjoying the food and the meals are good. They take care of her and change her, and the rooms are nice. They do church and they bring in people that entertain by singing and playing piano. They also have Bingo, chair yoga, take residents out to doctors' appointments, shopping, and the bank if they need that. My mom has her own room, which is just a bedroom with a walk-in closet and built-in drawers. She also has her own bathroom and a back door leads to a big patio area with chairs. They have a big bird display with a bunch of parakeets and they have a big waterfall out there. They have a side menu that you can order off of, which is good because they have lots of things to eat.

I liked a lot of things here. We liked the security, there’s a large area where someone could walk around, but there’s a big enclosure. What I didn’t like about it is that it’s in Camarillo, and we live in Ventura. The rooms were very small for both of us. We saw the dining area, it looked nice enough, the staff seemed very courteous, and the one who showed us around was very open.

It looked like you would be super comfortable there. I was impressed with it. The apartments were very good and big enough. The staff was really nice, and the residents looked comfortable.

My father has only been here for just a week now, so far so good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. So far the administration is easy to work with. I just liked what they had to offer. It was a good match for my dad. His room is quite large with an enormous closet, which is really a blessing, a very large bathroom, large counter space, and lots of drawers. It’s a 1-story building so there’s a door into the hallway and then a sliding door to the outside. He is happy with the food. It’s not very fussy and it’s more of what he is in-tune with. They have a rotating menu everyday where they can get two choices along with just regular listed standards. They do all kinds of things, like outings, they do walks, exercise classes, and van outings. They have a huge activity room and every afternoon there’s something going on whether it’s bingo or musicians to listen to, sing-along, and they have memory games.
