Our parents were relatively happy there until the facility was sold to Human Good who were actually pretty bad. When our father passed away we made a point of clearing out his apartment by the end of the month (December). Our father had paid for a month in advance (January) to the tune of over $5,000 and the facility refused to return this money to us. Contacting Human Good was fruitless. They never even bothered to reply or return calls.

I love Rosewood. When I first moved in, my husband was deathly ill. I just couldn't take care of him at home anymore. I was very appreciative of living here. We could get exercise and get all kinds of help. I didn't have to cook anymore, which was absolutely awesome. It lightened my load extremely well. I love the apartment. My husband is deceased now, but he was very happy here. Rosewood has all kinds of activities. They have the swimming pool and exercises every morning. There is yoga and regular exercises run by our physical therapists. Rosewood is a three-tier residence. We have independent living, assisted living, and full care. I had physical therapy here as well. We have movies, travelogues, and parties here. They also help us with our computers, phone, or whatever. We have a store we can go and buy stuff, so we don't have to leave to buy necessities. The pandemic has just done horrible things to our staff, and we are not full right now. Sometimes, if we don't have enough staff in our dining room, we do grab-and-go. If there's enough staff, we can go in the dining room again. It's really been very difficult. Overall, our staff is very good. This is a buy-in, and it's a nonprofit. If I ran out of money, they're still gonna take care of me the rest of my life.

We enjoyed touring Rosewood. It was a larger community and they had many senior services available, like beauticians, barbers, and a pool that a family could go visit. That was nice. The person in charge gave us some advice on other places to look at. He was informative and he gave us a lot of time to talk about our concerns there. The place looked clean, as well as the common areas. They were organized and the residents that we've seen looked happy.

We went to see Rosewood in Bakersfield and I would not recommend them to anybody. It was a horrible thing. The person who gave us the tour told us that this was a bad neighborhood. My mother lived in that neighborhood for 54 years and that's not something you tell people. That was really, really bad that he said that because it's not. They have this system where you pay, for example $110,000 or a certain amount of money, and then you don't really have to worry about much of anything after you do that. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. They were very rude when we went inside, both the way of their system signing in and the receptionist. It was just a rude experience and I was totally turned off by that. He didn't even show us into the main building. I guess he didn't have any rooms available and just didn't show us anything, but we did go into their independent living. It was kind of a cottage and it was pretty much the same type of thing that we had seen at the other two facilities that we visited but more expensive. I think the main thing I'd like to stress is their mode of payment. It's not like a monthly fee to have all these wonderful things that you can do. It was more of you giving them $110,000 and you have some kind of security from that. He couldn't even explain it. There are steps to go upstairs into the units on top and that makes no sense to me at all. Why would you do that when you have elderly people who can't walk upstairs? This was in the independent section.

Rosewood is a very good place. I've been there, and I listened to their presentation. They were trying to provide some lunch for us and talked to us about deciding on where to live. It was very clean. They provide you with privacy. There were different levels of residency. I saw three different kinds of rooms. One is like a studio one room, and then you have two rooms, and then like a regular rent at home. They are convenient. You furnish it the way you want. They provide two meals a day. They can do one meal themselves, do it in the room, they can have a microwave in the room. They have a dining room, and they have group activities. The staff members were very nice and very, very friendly. They gave me a tour and showed me they had a swimming pool, facilities for exercising, a ground you can walk around. They have a little clinic; if you have a problem, you can see a physician or a medical provider. It was a good place. They have a parking space for each resident. The food was very good. They have their chef prepare food for us. They did a baby kale prepared in three different ways. He gave us the recipes so we can do it at home if we want to try. It was very good.

Rosewood Bakersfield had a very good level of care. It's a very clean and very comprehensive facility. The staff members were all very friendly and very knowledgeable. They had out temperature check and gave out questionnaires as part of their COVID protocols.

I visited Rosewood in Bakersfield. It was great and if I have to go somewhere, that's probably the place I would want to go to. I actually know somebody that is going there, that's the reason why I decided I'd rather go there myself too. I love the setup that they have for everybody's needs. Whoever needs their services, they have it set up so that they provide the services that each person requires. I really like the way they set up their services according to what your age is, what care you need and things like that. They have a lot of activities like painting classes for my mother, they have a lot of memory classes too, just little things to get her memory going. For younger residents, they have walking in the community, painting, and gardening. They have a lot of nice activities. They have a gardening club too. Also, when my daughter was in high school, they would go to Rosewood and play for the residents on Christmas. They also would go and do cheers. It was a really nice thing when that was going on before the COVID came.

I will be moving to Rosewood. They're very, very friendly. I really liked it very much. The staff member was a very nice guy. It's a high rise. I'm not looking forward to being confined to a building, although I am on the first floor, but I have a patio for my dog. The building was attractive. The only room I saw was the one I'm gonna be in, and it's a one-bedroom with two big rooms. It has a full kitchen and a big bathroom. I saw the dining room, which was not being used, and it's brand new and it's beautiful. At this point, their dining service is open from 7:00 in the morning until 8:00 or 10:00 at night. The meals are all covered, and we just go over and order our meal there.

Rosewood Retirement Community was beautiful and the staff was friendly, but their pricing was rather steep. You had to buy in on top of your rent and that kind of turned us off. They have a physical therapy room and they have pools as well. It was located in a nice part of the town. It was one of the older places in Bakersfield because my grandmother lived there 40 years ago, but they kept it well-maintained and updated.

I have a family member who has been at this SO CALLED "health care facility" for weeks. the oath for health care is DO NO HARM. I guess you could say that the staff at Rosewood does no harm, because they do NOTHING. Whether or not they are properly trained is definitely questionable. What is not is the fact I have yet to find staff on any level who have empathy or compassion for the beautiful souls that provide them a paycheck. I work in mental health and I would not recommend this supposed health care facility to anyone. I watched countless patients calling out for help this morning while staff chatted and took their sweet time, IF AT ALL attending to the patients. Elderly and ill sitting in their chairs looking lonely and bewildered as staff ignored their needs. WAKE UP! It's called being a human. Take the time and do your jobs and maybe even go a little further and treat these patients as the precious humans they are. Perhaps the staff at Rosewood should take a good look at themselves and ask "what if this woman or man were my parent, brother, sister, grandparent, etc, would I behave differently?" These fine patients would be better off in the street. DO NO HARM. Rosewood is a sad joke. negative stars.

Of all the places I've seen, I was impressed with Rosewood the most. The overall ambience suited me. The staff were very pleasant. The man who was working with me called to see if there was anything else that I needed answered. There was good followup. He answered my questions properly and courteously. There was a beauty salon.

Since my last visit and opportunity to share my impression of this facility, I have visited friends there several times. They are the happiest folks you would ever want to meet! They love the food, the variety of activities available and the friendly, caring staff! I could not recommend this facility more highly!!

Rosewood Senior Living Community is a good facility. The staff was nice, and the rooms are good. I saw people walking and also saw some painting. They also have a swimming pool, and they have locked-in doors.

I have toured Rosewood Retirement Community. I was all set to go in there. I had the money for the room monthly, plus I had the entrance fee, but for some reason or another, they combined that with my age and they refused me, so I gave up then.I liked everything about it. I liked the room. I could take my pet with me. I had a luncheon there, and it was very good. It had a nice big, living room and a separate bedroom, big bathroom, and the kitchen is right off of the living room. Kitchen/living room together. It had a small partition between them. I looked at a studio apartment, which I could afford. Mostly, bingo was the biggest activity. They have different card games. The neighborhood is real nice there. There was a hospital right behind them. That's where my wife passed away. I had her in Rosewood the last month she was alive.

Rosewood offers the most friendly, caring, qualified professionals that I have experienced. It is a pleasure to visit and see the delightful attitudes of both residents and staff. The activities available for all levels of residental, assisted, and the health center living are marvelous. The food is outstanding!! I highly recommend anyone looking for a GREAT CCRC to visit this campus.

The atmosphere at Rosewood is very dark, not decorated nicely, and it's an older place. That alone gives you different feeling about the facility although the apartments were nice and it had a full kitchen. During meal time, you have to serve yourself. They had a point system if you eat. If you go over with your points, they charge you and I thought that was a little ridiculous. They seemed like they had a lot of activities. We actually did speak with the residents who enjoyed the activities and they said they liked living there.

I am an independent contractor that has been working for families who have a loved one in the nursing care portion of the facility. I specialize in touch therapy for the critically, chronically and terminally ill and have been making such visits with residents there for about 5 years now. I have also been in nearly every other care facility in Bakersfield doing the same work. Rosewood is by far the most attentive, patient/resident conscious facility I have had the pleasure of dealing with. The staff shows a level of attention and care, coupled with getting to know each resident in a wonderfully family like fashion, that gives the patients and family members peace and trust knowing that the facility truly cares. Now, this isn't just the nursing staff. EVERYONE affiliated with the facility has a caring smile, takes that extra moment to really say hello and see that all issues are remedied, from the janitorial crew to the Chaplains. They are constantly upgrading the facility itself so it doesn't fall into disrepair and remain on the cutting edge of the latest rules and regulations to keep all levels of care safe for residents as well as employees. The staff know their clients names, favorite activities, food and drink issues, sleeping and activity regimens, basically the likes and dislikes as though they are their own family and I see the clients reflect such love and calmness back to me that I know they are cared for beyond the standard. Maybe the fact that this is where I would want to be at this stage in my life says it all. I think Rosewood should be the 'Poster Child' to have as a goal for other facilities gauge their standards of care by.

what a wonderful place. People care and actually give you choices. Therapy staff were so helpful and motivating. Food was even good and again more choices. It's certainly not your grandmother's nursing home there. Will go there when it's my turn for knee surgery!

The staff is very caring and knowledgeable and is willing to listen to all the crazy an elderly individual can throw. They are all specially trained and equipped to deal with anything my uncle could do. He had a habit of roaming the halls and creating stories but both of these were no issue. The staff was caring and kind and knew just what to do to make it easier for him to live there. I would gladly recommend this place.

I visited Rosewood a little over a year ago. I was doing community service for my high school so I chose to volunteer at the Rosewood Retirement Community. Every time I was there the staff seemed very friendly and helpful. Everyone that was staying there also seemed very cheerful and happy as well. It was always very nice and clean in there. One of the jobs I did was to set up for a party that they would be having for the people that stay there. They have a lot of activities for the seniors to do and it seems like fun. They also try to keep things decorated for the holidays and it creates an atmosphere that feels homey and cheerful. They have a wonderful facility. The outside grounds are very nice and beautiful, and they have great places to walk or sit and enjoy the outdoors. It is a very nice place and I would recommend it to anybody.

"We're just doing our homework," we say when we visit Rosewood (CCRC) in Bakersfield, CA. And you know what? They are just happy to have us visit; even multiple times. This facility is number one on our list for our future home. Rosewood continues to update and improve their decor and recently added a very nice pool, spa and bistro. We'd also like to complement Susan, Director of Sales and Marketing. She's great! When we're ready, our new home will be Rosewood.
