"I toured Heritage House and the staff was very good. They seem to have a very experienced staff and they have a caring attitude for all of the residents. I didn't look into the room as they're fully booked. Their memory care unit was smaller, I believe there were a dozen rooms, but I was more interested in the general feelings rather than the specifics of the individual rooms. Heritage House has three clusters of rooms, two of which are assisted living, and the one is memory care. All of the online information shows smiling people, as you might expect, but I didn't observe any general activities there and the online photos didn't make clear to me who were memory care residents and who were assisted living residents. Also, the facility was a little bit older."

"We’ve been pleased at Abundant Care, but there’s not much to do as there are only 6 residents. They have a musician come in and play piano. They’re very nice people; they very good care of the residents. My husband has not had any negative comments about the food; he is satisfied. It’s a lovely facility, has a beautiful outdoor, and every room has its own bath and patio. It’s very nice. Each room has its own control for heating and cooling. It’s very well run, and I really don’t have any negative comments. Here we have like 1 or 2 caregivers for six patients. "

"I visited Valle Verde last May, and I will be moving there because it has all the features and the activities that I was looking for. It's also situated in a good location. The cost is reasonable, and the food is excellent. The rooms are all on the ground floor, and they were all remodeled. It seems that the facility is well kept up. The marketing staff was much more suitable when I went there again. "

"My experience was very positive. The nice thing about Covenant Retirement Communities is they allow people to stay there for two nights and arrange for visitors to have meals with the residents in their dining rooms. You're allowed to explore the local community, and they had religious activities like bible studies and prayer meetings. The staff was very pleasant and very enjoyable to meet and talk with. The Samarkand was a former hotel, and the rooms were not standard. They were different in shape. They were very nice and varied in size. There were multiple buildings there. The dining room was very nice, and they had three meals a day. They had outings where they take the residents on the bus, and they had various activities on the campus itself. I liked the religious aspect of it. They were very focused on the Christian faith, but they did not discriminate based on faith. "

"Villa Riviera is more affordable than any other place I had seen. They didn't want an application fee, which was great, so my dad would have saved money just paying a monthly fee. The place looked clean, and some rooms have a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was great. They were in the middle of an art class when I was there. The people that live there looked happy, too. It's very affordable. For dementia care; it was almost $3,000 less than where dad is at now. So that would be a place that I would definitely consider."

"My mother spent almost a year here before she passed. The staff was great and very nice. The only thing that bothered me was after her passing are family did not get any kind of condolence from them. A simple card would have been a nice. I received condolences from the hospice care facility she was in for only 2 days. I guess its just a business to the owners. "

"I visited Fountain Square of Lompoc and toured their memory care. The tour was good and the person giving the tour was fantastic. It was very informative and she made me comfortable talking about any issues. The other staff members who were there were pleasant, too. I checked out some of the rooms, it was an old building but they were nice. The single rooms, which are the private rooms, are a little bigger than the companion rooms. I'm not too keen on companion ones but all the rooms were nice. People had them decorated, and they had their stuff from home there too. It gives the person a sense of ownership. It's not like losing a home, it's like they're going into their own home as well, if that makes sense. Throughout the whole thing, I think the private room is what I like the most. The halls are decorated very nicely. They have events going on for the people that are there, too, so it looks fun. The facility is also clean."

"I've got some friends who live in Casa Dorinda. It's a very high-end, beautiful, but quite expensive place. That's the top-of-the-line, incredible food, and beautiful architecture. Everything about that place is excellent. The staff was very attentive, polite, and delightful. The food is excellent, and even their cappuccinos are good. I noticed they were having an exercise class, they had lots of activities, and took different buses to different places."

"We went to AAA Kindness Care Home. It was fine, but I think it's out of our price range. I can't say anything negative about it. It was very nice. It was very clean. The people were very friendly. She did interact with the residents as we were walking around, as she was showing us things, and she explained everything. She answered all of our questions, and she showed us rooms, and everything seemed very nice. They do not have transportation services for the residents, so they don't go on any outings, which was one of the things that we liked about the other two places that we visited. It's very nicely arranged, it's very open. Most of the rooms have outdoor access so they can go out on their patio, which is nice. And the views are just amazing."

"My mother is at Hillview Residence. My friend's parents are there as well, so they're very good. Hopefully, she's gonna be short-term, so she can go back home. It's been family-owned for over 35 years and they're local. The owners live down the street from me and I didn't know that. The staff has been there long-term as well, and they're all very friendly, very detailed, precise, and caring. They have two dining rooms and they looked nice. Her room is nice. So far, so good. Everything looks nice and clean. They have activities every day during the week like music, crafts or bingo. She's only been there a couple of days. So far, everybody is very good. The facility is very nice. They have a very nice outdoor area. They're doing good so far."
