"Tri-Cities Retirement Inn is an assisted living and they have a separate memory care section. The facility looked nice. The rooms were cozy. Most of their rooms have two occupants, so you have a roommate. Some of them have like a main room with a little kitchenette with a sink. No burners or anything, and then some of them have a little bedroom off to the side so that there are two rooms for two people. Some are apparently studios, and they have two people in them, but I didn't look into any of those. The young lady who helped me was wonderful. I told her I thank God for people like her. I didn't sample any food or go to the dining area. They had just a common room, but there was no access to burners or anything like that, and there was a lot of supervision. It's an older sort of building."

"Three Rivers Place is one-story, it's not super big, and the people there are super nice. My mother had a good room, it was nice and bright with a lot of windows, it was well-laid out, neat, and clean. Because of the coronavirus, there are no group activities, but they have scheduled activities that they normally would have done. The staff did well. My mom didn't eat much, but when I looked at the food it looked good."

"We have a very good staff at Brookdale Canyon Lakes who keep our place clean. We have a two-bedroom with a full-sized kitchen, a living room, and an outside patio, and I’m very happy with it. We eat in a common dining room; the social recreation is fine. We’re happy with the price here. I don't have any complaints at all. "

"I lived at Sun Terrace for 7 months after recovering from brain surgery. I recommend them. They're very good. The food and care are excellent. I felt like I was a queen. I was spoiled. Independent living is getting better! If I had my choice, I would live the rest of my life there. "

"We toured Sun Terrace Hermiston for my mother-in-law. I pretty much like its location. The location is perfect because it's right there for her doctors, shopping, and stuff like that. They have everything available for the individual as well as for the family, too. They have both independent living, assisted living, and special care if you need it. We saw one-bedrooms. I haven't seen an apartment or a two-bedroom, but I think they're pretty standard and pretty comparable. It was very clean. The people were very respectful and friendly. They had a recreation room where residents could go do some group cooking if they wanted to or sew or whatever. So, I thought that was very appropriate. They had laundry rooms and a hair salon, too."

"My mother was a resident of Life Care Center of Richland. She started out in physical therapy. The staff was wonderful. However, sometimes the call time to get to her to go to the bathroom wasn't as quick as we would have liked it, so my mother would get up and go by herself; she shouldn't have, but she did. Everything was great, but the only thing that pulled the wool over our eyes was when she was no longer able to get physical therapy. Medicare stopped paying, so she had to start paying out of pocket, but we weren't really notified. We knew they had stopped physical therapy and that at some point she was going to be paying out of pocket, but we didn't know it was going to double in price. My brother was getting prepared as to how much we were going to have to start paying out of pocket, so when he was there visiting he asked how much it cost per day and they said $171. However, we got a bill for two weeks that totaled $6,000, and that's not $171 a day! That's what Medicare cost and not their cost for out-of-pocket. We got blindsided. That lack of communication about how much she was going to be paying out-of-pocket was troublesome to us."

"My husband is staying in Guardian Angel Homes. What I like about this place was that they have cottages, so it is more of a home-like situation on a bigger scale. They got different levels of care. They also have a well-trained staff. "

"I was very happy with the care my mother received at this facility. The staff was very helpful in guiding us through the process. Thank you for what you do and please know most of us appreciate the job you do. Job well done!! "

"My mother-in-law moved into Fieldstone Grandridge. The place is very nice, it's very clean, and it smells good. It doesn't smell like urine in a lot of places, and it doesn't smell like death. The staff is friendly and helpful. She said there's some food that she likes, and some food that she doesn't. They have a very selective menu, so that's very nice. It's not, "You have to eat this today, and you have to eat that," she gets to choose what she eats. It's laid out very nice, and most things are on one floor. There are a few things on the other floors, but it's all pretty much in one area."

"Fieldstone Memory Care Kennewick was a nice place. I liked that it was laid out a little bit better than the other facility. But the location was not convenient for us to go and see my mom. I liked the rooms better. They had a little more privacy, even though they were shared rooms. The staff did a good job. The second time we went there, we talked to one of the nurses, and she gave us a lot of information we needed to know. They had a pharmacy there. They have a kind of a theme setting in their building. They got a movie theater and stuff that my mother would be interested in."

"Initially, I was really pleased with Agape Care with what they would offer for my father and at that time they didn’t recognize that he was not yet living with anybody especially people with other medical issues. He was very uncomfortable, and he was not used to the food that they provided. He lost some weight, and he just has a particular diet that he has had, and it’s not the typical diet that people have when they’re trying to take care of their health. He grew up on a ranch with meat and potato, and he very seldom had noodles. They are really cut and dry about his food, with lots of butter and cream. That’s not the best healthy diet for other people in different circumstances so he lost a lot of weight. His room was perfectly fine, and they let us go in to a smaller room to get in there a few days early, and then he was moved in to a larger room which was great and very appropriate for him. It had nice windows. I wasn’t pleased with the bed because my father complained about that after about a week. The only other thing that I really was kind of disgruntled about with his room was the lights were always low, and it was hard to get light bulb to put into his light, but his room was perfectly adequate other than that. I think the people were very nice, and they were in process of a new owner, new manager, new staff in general, and along with that comes kind of a little miscommunication although I believe they got much better at it. He was there for two months and establishing their particular workers and what they do. One thing I didn’t care about was dad had to get to know many people, but he seemed to adapt okay to that. I know they’re trying, and I know the new owners are trying, but what I can tell you is I would not recommend anybody for it. Not with my dad’s experience -- it was not great for him. They weren’t setup for him either, and they recognized that at the very beginning so we paid more because dad was going to be outside their normal scope and when they found, he wasn’t really outside their normal scope. I would not recommend the place as much as I like the owner, and she knows how we feel because I’m an honest person and she is too. It was a mutual separation because he never really fit in there with the other residents, and he needed to be in a different place, so it’s a mutual leaving. It was easier for most of the family to get to see him more frequently. "

"My mother-in-law lives in Hawthorne Court. She is in independent living. It is very nice and clean. The staff members were nice. My mother-in-law likes it. They do everything. They go on little outings. They have indoor activities. They do exercise, craft, and get-togethers. It's expensive, but I think they all are. They provide the meals, and they have nurses on staff. So it depends on how much care you need and how much it costs."

"My Dad stayed at Windsong for a Month. The staff that took care of my dad was great. Excellent communication . The food wasn’t the greatest. The front desk people could have been more friendly ."
