"My mom is in Life Care Center. I've been to a lot of nursing homes when I was looking around, and this one is the nicest. It is cleaner, the staff is nice, and they have all kinds of activities there. I never got to taste the food, but mom seems to like it. I would recommend them to others. "

"In a word....RUN. This place is not equipped to help your loved one survive. My mother has COPD and was resident for rehab at Ridgeview for a short time. They were in no way able to take care of her. Her room mate had to yell and scream for staff to come and help my mother or she would have died. No place to put your loved one. Run from this facility."

"My parents' doctors are at The Heritage Center. My mother went into a coma, and she's out of it now, but she's going to need special care, and we just want to keep her close to the doctors. That is the only reason. They do not like it necessarily, but that does not matter. They're not there yet. They're going to be there. We're just now coming out of the hospital, and we're getting ready for them to go in. I think the staff was good. I was told breakfast and lunch were excellent; quite a few people pass on the dinner. They did everything pretty good. Everyone seems to love it. My parents have four friends who live there already. "

"Regency Retirement Village - Morristown was probably the largest facility of the ones that I have toured. They had several different levels of care as you needed more care, you would move to another wing of the facility. The staff was very engaging and knew residents by name. They had really good activities. They had an amazing activity director that had an amazing number of activities ranging from chair yoga to activities outside of the facility. They had a theater room that was set up with a popcorn machine, and it was just really nice."

"Although the facility is a little on the older side, it is definitely "Homey". As soon as we walked in the door, you could hear and see "life" happening ( I think the game they were playing was Hot Potato and the residents were cackling with excitement). This facility is free from odor, and you could see the staff interacting with residents at the turn of every corner. The Administration is very knowledgeable and found the office staff is very accommodating to help. We are very pleased with our visit and will be sharing with our mother about our experience during our visit. "

"The rooms were pretty small at Dominion Wellspring Sevierville. I didn’t spend a lot of time with the residents, but I can see that everybody seemed happy. The staff was nice. They gave us their calendar of activities, and they invited us to come any time. They give emphasis on the religion. They do very good religious things for people. Their staff is very in tune with that, and that is very important to me. "

"We liked Wellington Manor and the style of its rooms. We also liked that it had a memory care. The staff and the accommodations are fine. The memory care is good. The cost is very good because it's much less expensive."

"My mom lived at Heritage at Knoxville for two years. The have very big rooms and their food was good. They have very reasonable prices and they always make the family very welcome. They do bingo, and they also do flowers. They take some day trips and walk to the mountains. They do not have clinical staff and that is probably one of their shortcomings. They just have caregivers, but they really care about the people that live there. "

"South High is more then anything I could have ever dreamed of for my mom. She loves it at South and the staff is wonderful. They are her family away from home. I trust them 100%! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone!"

"We have moved my mother-in-law to Renaissance Terrace. I chose it mainly because it's one of the facilities that accepts the CHOICES program. It's one of the two facilities in this area that accepted the CHOICES program for the assisted living level. The staff were very helpful. Everything was fine. The place is very spacious and we are very pleased with the facility. The rooms were the best from what I've seen in the area. It is also very spacious. I would recommend them to anyone. "

"We found The Courtyards Senior Living (The Orchard) for my mother-in-law. The place was about a year old. It was really nice. It had everything that she needed, and it was only about five minutes from here. We liked the look of the place. They seemed to be well staffed. It had a kitchen where she could order breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It was a nice, higher end place for a good price. It covered everything like food, laundry, and bath. They had a doctor on call who was familiar with older patients and made sure they would be taken care of. They had entertainment and movies. They had church on Sundays if you wanted to go. They had bingo and stuff that older people liked to do. It had everything. "

"The staff at The Courtyards Senior Living- The Meadows was really friendly. The lady showed me one room after another and then the staff came up and she was telling them about the rooms and stuff like that. They were very bubbly as they showed me the assisted living. It was closer to where I live and I just love the friendliness of everybody. The maintenance and cleanliness were excellent too."

"I moved my mother to this wonderful facility over a year ago after several months in another Knoxville assisted living. Courtyards on Inskip was always my first choice, but they didn't have an opening when I first moved my mom from her home. You could not find a better place anywhere; I am convinced of that. I visited every facility in town numerous times, and some in other cities, to be sure I was choosing the best place. The Courtyards is just different in all the ways that matter. First of all, you feel at home immediately upon entering the facility. The facility is airy and has lots of windows; the individual resident rooms are larger than anywhere else, with nice windows and beautiful bathroom and large closets. The residents enjoy a beautiful backyard setting with gazebo and seating, fountain, and garden area. And as the director, Cindy Winegar, likes to say, you feel just as good when you leave at the end of your visit as you do when you arrive. I sleep well at night knowing my mother has this kind of caring environment. The employees are simply amazing, from the director to the activities director, to the wonderful nurses, to the cooks and cleaning personnel who all help with the caregiving as well. Everyone there is a caregiver at heart and they function as such. They go WAY above and beyond the call of duty. They are super busy all the time but they treat you and your parent as though you are the most important people in the world. The food is wonderful and my mother, who had lost weight in her first assisted living, gained back the weight and then some to become much stronger. This was one of my main concerns. Everyone at the Courtyards is family, not only to my mother, but to me. The staff is so well trained, and it is obvious they have ongoing training and are well versed in all aspects of cognitive decline. They have helped me so much and guided me along the journey of my mother's memory decline. You can feel pretty alone without this kind of help and guidance. The cost is lower than any of the other facilities I would have considered for my mom, and they don't hide any fees like the others. What you see is what you get. The Courtyards is simply head and shoulders above any other place. I pat myself on the back daily for finding it and moving my mother when I had the chance. This is where I plan to go when my time comes!! (Sometimes when i see and smell the food I'm ready to move in now.) "

"My mom is in NHC Healthcare. It is excellent. I can't tell you anything bad about it. The facility is nice and clean and it looks like a little hospital. There is no odor. The staff on the floor that she is in is excellent. They answer my questions. They take excellent care of my mother. They have activities for the residents that they can walk to, or they can be taken to and from and because some, such my mother, can't walk so they just wheel her down there. The food is good and it is prepared hot. However, my mom has been there close to three months and it took me almost two month of constantly reminding them to put a pillow under my mother's left arm to elevate it, because if they don't it swells as she has no movement on her left arm and hand. Also, I'd like for them to bathe mom a little bit more, not that they don't change her when she needs to be changed, but just her whole body needs bathing a little bit more. But overall they are excellent. "
