"Riley's Grove Assisted Living & Memory Care was beautiful and up-to-date. There's plenty of staff and activities. They were very attentive and informative. They spent lots of time with us and answered our questions. There was a birthday party going on that day. They recently had a 4th of July celebration out on the back deck and when we had gotten there, they had just finished up a social hour. The apartments were very clean, very immaculate, and very welcoming. The dining area was very comfortable and also very clean. The outdoor spaces were very beautiful and again, very welcoming, and very comfortable for any resident to be there. There were flowers and places to sit."

"We've registered for a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath villa which is detached from the main lodge. It has a laundry facility within the unit which we really liked, all utilities are paid, and there's extra storage space. We're going into independent living. The staff seemed very friendly and competent. We experienced a luncheon and the food service seems to be good."

"In July of 2019 when my husband and I decided to move back to the Midwest to be near our adult children, I began searching the internet. Rivertown Ridge immediately caught my eye, so I contacted the sales office. Meredith was very kind, patient, and helpful in answering my many questions. In August, we sent in a deposit. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Unfortunately, my husband passed away while we were still in Florida, but the genuinely friendly staff at Rivertown Ridge made the move an easier adjustment for me. My apartment, the dining rooms, and common areas are wonderful! There’s a variety of activities, but no one feels pressured to participate. "The Cortland Wyoming was very nice. However, the colors of the rooms were pretty dark. Other than that, it was great. They had a lot of extra things for seniors. They were awesome. They were very helpful and very informative. The rooms were a little small. The common area was awesome, though. It was very welcoming and comfortable."

"My sister had to be placed on the memory on very short notice right at Christmas. They people got her in & squared away when I never thought it would happen. Great service. The staff was excellent & the accommodations wonderful on the 3rd floor! My special thanks to Sheila who made this experience so good. She is not paid enough!"

"We focused more on the memory care area at The Cortland of Northview. Part of it was under construction, so we couldn't see it. The parts that we saw, I would give it a four. It was quite a unique arrangement. My wife didn't care for it, but I thought it was interesting. All of the units opened into a singular gathering area. There were no hallways, so that was unique in that each door opened into a public area where there was the dining and entertainment and those kinds of things. There were no hallways to confuse anybody. I really liked that about it. We just met with Sam, who was in marketing, and he was incredibly helpful and interacted with all the residents there as we walked through the building. He clearly knew everybody. They did have a fenced outdoor space."

"When Mom was recovering from a TIA in a nursing home, she realized how much she enjoyed living with other people. For thirty years after Daddy died, she had lived alone. Gradually her physical stamina had diminished and her world grew smaller and smaller. Less driving, no longer able to attend church, she decided that she didn't want to go ut back to an empty house. After visiting all the available assisted living facilities in the Grand Haven area, I took her to Christian Haven. We toured the facility and as we left, Mom said, "This is the only place that speaks to my spirit." I could rave about the fabulous made-from-scratch food, the 15 activities each week, the phenomenal medical staff, the gentle shower aids, and the immaculate housekeeping. All are amazing. But the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual nurturing is is priceless. Mom is happy, safe, and content. I thank God every day for Christian Haven. "

"My father-in-law is in Lakeshore Assisted Living. It is really nice. The staff is really caring. The facility is very clean and looks very homey. There is a lot of one-on-one attention. They are in the price range that we need. The food is excellent. It is home cooked. They ask them every day what they want, they fix what they want, and the food is really good. It is like a home kitchen, and there are only 14 people in the home. They have big activities for them. They play bingo and cards. They have exercise to be fit. They take them to the park and to the movies. It is just a Christian based home. They are an excellent facility, and I will recommend them to anyone. "

"We put our mom in DaySpring Assisted Living. She doesn't like it but I don't know if that's typical or what. She wants us to take her back home. She hates it there I guess. She is at what they call it, Assisted Living Level One. She's got dementia and stuff, so she might be in a wing with worse people in there probably. She's not that crazy, but there's other ones there that are a lot worse than her that are talking down and walking around, then come in her room and all that, and she don't like that. She has more of a memory problem but she's not crazy, like there's some people that are kinda crazy in there, that's what she's saying. All I can say is that she doesn't like it, but other than her mind she's physically doing pretty well. She doesn't even know how to use a cellphone early and stuff like that. She said the food's excellent and she gets her hair done there. That's the only two things she likes. There's one or two staff she likes, some of them aren't as nice, a couple of them are, but some aren't, I've heard that. Some have more patience. You gotta have patience with her 'cause she's hard of hearing. She wanted to be moved somewhere else, but when you move her somewhere else, it could be worse. DaySpring was always highly recommended to me. They could probably put her in a wing that's maybe with some people that she could actually talk to, but I don't know for sure. The problem is we can't go in there. We can't see it ourselves. We have to go strictly on what my mom says. The room looked nice, but when we go there we just talked to her through the window on the phone; it's all we do. I think it's expensive. She's in a private room. They're supposed to have some activities. I've heard they're not doing any activities, but they did say they had some. The food looked good. I saw they brought one meal as we talked to her through the window, and it looked pretty good for lunch."
