The staff are very courteous and helpful. The food has also improved quite a bit since the hiring of a new chef. Recently, they have started having family events for the residents. The most recent was for Mother's Day weekend where the staff hosted a brunch for the residents and their visiting family members. Excellent food and decorations.

Grand Pines is a great place for my mom to call home. The staff are kind, caring and friendly. They take good care of her needs. The food is very good. I sometimes have a meal there with her. The activities are many and enjoyable. The staff knows she enjoys them but can forget to go, so they come by to remind her of activities. They go on trips to restaurants and have musical groups come in. Families are encouraged to join in special events like the Easter Tea, Car Show, and Mother’s Day Brunch. These have all been beautifully presented with delicious food. I look forward to attending with Mom. We had our family Christmas Party in the Family Dining Room which worked well and made it so Mom could attend. I can’t say enough good things about Grand Pines.

The Mother's Day brunch was wonderfully done. The food was phenomenal and the staff went out of their way to make this a special event.

We have moved my mom into Grand Pines two years ago. They're very nice. Their facility is nice. It's not quite as nice as the other facility and it's older. The staff there is pretty good. Like everybody else, they're having staffing issues, and the manager just left there. The new guy is coming in, and I think there's a meet and greet later this week, and I'd like to do that. He seems very, very competent. My mom enjoys that place. It's nice because it's in Grand Haven, and she grew up in Grand Haven, so she knows some other people who live there. That's the big factor right now that she has a little bit more social contact now that COVID is better. The rooms are nice. There are several different floor plans, so you can choose anything from a studio. She has a one-bedroom. They have two beauty shops. They were doing a quarterly community event, and they would have people come in and do different things. They have an ice cream social. They have some other things that they do like grandkids can come in for Halloween and dress in their costumes, and they get a kick out of that. Unfortunately, she's been there two years and the year and a half of that was COVID, so of course, all of that stopped at that point, and they're just starting to do that again. The location is nice because it's right in Grand Haven, so it's centrally located. My mom's doctors are there and that kind of stuff, so that's been pretty convenient for her. It's not convenient for me because I don't live there, but it is very nice. They had the chef leave and now they have a different one, and she makes things a little bit different. My mom complains that they have a lot of rice and pasta, but the food is good, and what she eats, she likes. The facility itself is very nice. It's a little more institutional than the other facility. It's an older building. Her room is very nice, and she's got two rooms. It's very expensive but it does include a lot of things.

My father is being taken care of very well at Grand Pines. The staff is excellent. The living atmosphere is nice. His room is very nice. It has everything that the residents could need. They have a TV, games, and nice sitting areas, but they don't do much. The residents are in wheelchairs and they just sit around, but they are doing a great job with my father.

The rooms at Grand Pines were OK, but since it's assisted living, they were more like hospital rooms than apartments. The place was very nice. The grounds were maintained, and the staff was friendly. I spoke to a couple of residents who seemed happy.

Location was a big concern for my dad. And Grand Pines Assisted Living is not far from home. My mom has only been in there for three months in a secure dementia unit. Everything is very, very good. The staff is extremely caring and exceptional. You could tell that there is a genuine interest with family members as far as how we are doing and the care that my mom receives. Everything else is very good, the upkeep and cleanliness. I was there quite often during meals and just by looking on it the quality of the food looked very good.

My grandparents moved in during the second phase of construction this past summer. I have been seriously impressed with the level of care provided to the residents. The facility has many amenities for residents and guests alike to enjoy. There are regular scheduled events everyday as well as special events during holidays. My grandparents have enjoyed guest speakers, lunch trips to local restaurants, trips to local areas of interest such as museums or orchards. There are parties thrown for residents birthdays, farewell parties for staff members, holidays parties, cooking baking at Christmas, even a library for all residents and guests to enjoy. I have enjoyed the small kitchen that can be used to bake or cook a treat or special meal for a resident by heir family. This facility is more than an assisted living center it is senior community that provides an extra set of hands when needed. I would love to live there myself and I am far from retirement age.
