The Huntingdon was a wonderful place. It didn't take us long to find out that there were no openings, so we didn't go too far into it. It's an old grand hotel that they made out, so everything was so nice and clean. The person we talked to was very good and very nice. They showed us the pool, their own garden, and there were people sitting, watching television. It's a very nice and beautiful place.

Personal Care Attendants assist residents with their activities of daily life. Support is tailored to the needs of each individual. Help with bathing, dressing, and medications are part of our services. As a resident's needs change our individualized care will change to meet these needs. A licensed administrator coordinates all residents' care. Three well-balanced meals are prepared and served in our dining room daily. Thought is put into providing choices that are familiar and delicious, like home cooking, while paying close attention to special diet needs. The thing I liked about The Huntingdon was that it was in the community where Mom was when we had to decide to move her, but they are a money machine. They get the seniors in and make people pay the $2,500 registration fee, and there's a lot of people that have moved out right after two weeks, So, they're collecting your first month's rent plus an additional $2,500. I think it's a rip-off and the food there is horrible. They need to have staff present and I think all they're trying to do is make money and they don't mind about the residents that they have. There were times during the middle of the day when there's nobody in the office or nobody present. They had activities. They had bingo. No movie nights and they had people coming in, like schoolchildren, for Valentine's Day to love the seniors and that kind of stuff.

- Special Comment: Our licensed administrator can help each resident become established with area health service providers including doctors, therapists, private duty aids, hospice programs, etc. We can make appointments, arrange transportation, and handle prescription delivery. Updated medical information is kept on hand including living wills, special emergency requests or other information based on doctor's orders or personal wishes. A little extra care makes a big difference.
