Independent Living Communities in Fairhope, AL

"I’ve visited some friends who are living at The Brennity. The place is certainly a good solution for them. The food I tried was good. The rooms are small by the standards of a home, but the facility seems well-run and provides the care that the residents need. They seem to have more than adequate staff, and they seem to be giving proper attention to the problems of the people who are there. They seem to have programs for anybody who wanted them. "

"The Seagrass Village of Daphne was beautiful. They have three sections. They have the villas, which are completely independent. They have apartments, which are independent, but they can get meals. In the villas, you have to cook your own food, but you're welcome to go to the dining room. I'm sure it's for a small price, though. The third section is for assisted living. I only looked at the villas for independent living, and they were very impressive and pretty big. They are in the back of the facility, and they have 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom ones. I looked at the 3-bedroom villas first, and I didn't think they were that much bigger than the 2-bedroom ones. Also, because they have 3 bedrooms, the rooms aren't as spacious. They took me to see the 2-bedroom villas, and I was impressed. They have full kitchens with appliances and everything. Their bathroom is also a good size. They're very nice. I got to meet a number of people from the staff. For anybody who's looking for independent living, I highly recommend the villas. Most of the stuff is located in the apartment area because that's the first thing you see. They have a pool and all the amenities there that you're welcome to use as a resident. The community looks very nice, and they definitely have land to build more villages. The staff members were all very kind and considerate, and they answered all my questions. At the end of the open house, one of them took me to a two-bedroom, because the open house was in a three-bedroom villa. They were very helpful. The facility looks like it's brand new, or at least the villas do. The ones we went in were spotless and fresh. They were still putting together the 2-bedroom one. They hadn't put it in the microwave over the stove, so I'm thinking they are building as they go."

"I’m really impressed with it. I loved the dining concept and that they had separate wings for memory care and assisted living. They’re open and had little spaces where people can sit, do games, and read. They have very nice and well-appointed separate rooms. Their menu specials changed every month with usually five or six selections, plus they have standard items on the menu that you can order. The staffed seemed very interested and engaging. They had a lot of activities for the residents, like taking them out on outings, and were willing to make and take people to doctors' appointments. They put more emphasis on staff training in memory care. "

"I toured Asher Point Independent Living of Mobile. The tour was good. I like that it's almost all-inclusive and there are other residents around for my mother. They were awesome. Everybody was very friendly. The structure of the building was good. They had a recent fire, but that's on the list to get fixed, they said. But everything else looked good. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very nice. We were interested in the studio apartment, which was roomy considering it was a studio."

"I toured The Reserve at Fairhope. The facility was beautiful. It's brand new and very nice. The memory care facility residents don't have access to outside. They have one small courtyard thing, but the residents aren't allowed to go out there by themselves. Otherwise, the facility was nice. The rooms were big, the staff seemed great and attentive. The food was good too. They have different options."
