My grandma can't speak English, so she can't talk to her caregivers. They sent different people every day.

I just needed them post-surgery care. I really did not need that much care after because of the type of procedure. I liked that they got me someone quickly.

I was not in pain, and I felt like I was just paying these people and they were just adequate. I like that the women who came here were very pleasant and nice.

Some of the nurses were very caring, and some weren't as caring. There were occasional days that they couldn't get care to help me with dad.

At first, I had caregivers who helped me and did whatever I wanted. I was expecting them to clean and do things I can't do, but they just come to sit and talk.

I would have liked them to have better communication, staffing and consider who the patient is. I would have liked the communication to be improved regarding scheduling, with the family, when they are not coming and advanced notice given.

I am personally disabled myself, and there is no way I could do the things needed to help my mother. I like the staff. They are always responsive and the people they send out are great. We have one girl that is permanent, who we adore.

They could provide us with a back-up to make our life easier. They could have a back-up when people don't show up. You are just left with nothing if someone doesn't show up.

Some were very good. Some were not good. The last one we sent home. I would not recommend them because we were on the schedule and when they would send someone, they did not show.

The client is very comfortable with her current caregiver. We have had a couple difficulties this time around, we have had people show up on days they weren't supposed to be here and other times them not show up when they were supposed to be.

Some of them are sleeping on the job. My husband had a bell, and they would not respond. Many times I came and his diaper was really soaked. Some of the caregivers did not have good bedside manner. They come in and out. Sometimes they are good and some are not good fits. I only had 4 good caregivers.

They could help by showing more initiative rather than sitting and waiting to be told what to do. They need to have mobility training for the staff and hands-on training. Different people show up at different times. It is very difficult for them to have the caregivers show up for more than 1 or 2 days in a row.

It give me four hours a day to do what I need to do. Taking care of my wife 24/7 would be a strain on me since I am elderly too. The people they send are good and helpful. I haven't had comeliness yet.

Mom gets bathed on a regular basis now. I'd tell a friend that if they had an elderly friend or parent that needs someone to come and bathe them, they would be a good option to do that.

Actually, my mom is the client, but she's in end-of-life care and is nonverbal, so I'm managing her care. Care Advantage came well recommended - but I'm having trouble seeing WHY. After my mom's massive stroke, I contacted CA to arrange 24/7 in-home care for her final weeks. We are 72 hours into the relationship, and already we've had a 3-hour coverage lapse, and, FAR more important, two different caregivers have let my mom sit in a wet diaper overnight!!! I don't care about small coverage lapses. Things happen. Folks get sick, or have other crises, and call out. That's understandable. Sending out folks who don't know how to keep a patient clean and dry is NOT understandable. It's inexcusable. Credit where it's due: Several of the caregivers have been quite good, and the one who is here now is outstanding. I've requested that she be assigned to us for as many shifts as possible. The agency has been - less than responsive to my concerns. They were very apologetic and responsive to the coverage lapse, but that's of far less concern to me than caregivers who either don't know how to do the job, or won't bother! Situations like these are so difficult. I will probably never in my life make decisions or take actions where the stakes are any higher - few things could possibly matter more than making sure a loved one is comfortable in their final days! And I fear I've made a dreadful error in working with Care Advantage.

The caregivers helped the most by knowing what to do and doing it. They gave assistance and help immediately. We had a need and I was given a number for them by someone. They were in for a short period of time, and the services didn't start on time, so we had to adjust. Care Advantage could improve their communication and the person that they sent, the one day she was there, I had to tail her and ask her to do certain things. She wouldn't do things unless we asked.

Care Advantage has helped the most by providing qualified people to aid me with the things I cannot do myself. It's been positive by providing the help I need. My schedule is all messed up when they come in here, and they are very accommodating. I have a sister who fills in on some of their times.So, it's not easy to juggle all these people, I guess.

I called for a driver to help me to get to an appointment and 3 different people showed up to take me. Then they made me wait in the car with the 2 aides while we waited for the aide to show up to come with us and then I had to pay all that time and pay for three people to drive me to the appointment. A caregiver came and then they had to leave early and then I got billed for all of it.

Most of the time they didn't do much at all, they would just sit,. Some people got involved but not often. They needed to be more consistent, they had a hard time finding caregivers.

The caregiver watches my husband completely. The caregiver is late and calls the scheduler and tells them that they will be late. We need to know what to do. We want better commutation. They do not get back to me.

There's only been one person that has come that seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. Just one thing we've had a problem with, is my dad would get familiar with someone, and then they would send someone new in. It's a huge thing when you have to change the person that's taking care of the person.

We didn't know how many hours we needed for assistance so we did a split shift which caused them to not assign us regular aides which makes it hard for a patient with Alzheimer's. They need to get their scheduling down. There is a lack of scheduling and they don't let us know who is coming and when. We had a few aides we didn't want to return.

They could have taken him to the senior center that he likes to go to. They can have better communication. They were supposed to be here at a certain time, and I would get a call way after the fact saying that they aren't showing up. By then, I had already left.

If I didn't have them, I couldn't work. They are a necessity. The caregiver I have has a very natural smile, and my mother responds to someone being pleasant and smiling. If she are people that aren't smiling, my mother will be upset. My caregiver is always giggling and interacting with my mom. I like the fact that they are not going to sit and be on their phones all day. Their phones are used to sign in and sign out. They have high expectations of their help, and they check on them personally to make sure the expectations are being fulfilled.

The problem I have with them is that they have not gotten me a full-time, permanent caregiver. I would like them to correspond with their clients a little better by informing them of information that they need. They just don't communicate with their clients.

It would have been nice to have someone to vacuum if my cleaning person couldn't come. I didn't use them that often, but it was good because they were kind to me. Everyone was very kind. She sat in my living room and ate her food. I had to tell her that my living room is not for her to be sitting and eating. She left her container with a drink in it sitting on the floor. I don't know why she did that. She thakes what older people say personally. My mom has dementia so she says stuff that is not quite right. Somebody who is in this business should know better than that. My mom is not receiving any care right now, but the quality of care my mom had was not good. I already called in. I asked for a different caregiver, but in the meantime my mom went into the hospital. She should be out of the hospital today, and they are supposed to be looking for somebody different to start on Monday. They were not happy when I reported the caregiver. I was told that sometimes it takes a while to get the right fit. I was hoping the first lady would be fine, but I understood that I might need to call back and get a better fit.

I've had some major issues, and some of it isn't their fault with people not showing up. I don't know if the scheduler is overloaded, but we've had some scheduling issues. I thought that they were taking fair care of him, but he thought that he was being neglected. His biggest complaint was that they would just be on their phones. They were very conscientious and they were receptive to his needs. If he said he wanted something to eat, they would cook for him. It was always when he asked, never just on their own.

The Chesapeake nurse supervisor didn't show up, didn't call to let me know that she wasn't showing up, didn't answer my call when I phoned her an hour after she was supposed to be here, and I still haven't heard from her. Office scheduler frequently does not tell client when aide will be late or not coming. Notice needs to be at least a day in advance to plan for other appointments, order for rx pick up, and grocery pick up. Not able to take a nap when expecting aide, but I couldn't do so because I've been expecting visits from Care Advantage all afternoon. Instead of preventing stress and making life easier, it is disruptive, especially for people with disabilities and in pain. How difficult is it to assign someone the responsibility to plan arrivals in advance?

I would tell a friend that Care Advantage had very respectful, pleasant people who were willing to do whatever they were asked to do. Care Advantage certainly made things easier because my spouse was not able to help me as much after my surgery.

The caregiver that Care Advantage has sent cannot lift Mary and she wasn't told exactly what she would need to do with the care. The services are a lot of help, but if Care Advantage had told the caregiver more about the case they could have sent someone else.

I wouldn't recommend Care Advantage because it has to do with accommodating the hours I needed. I have little to no motor skills, so I can't cook. I can't flip things or stir things. I don't walk, and I can't push a vacuum.

We've been with Care Advantage for a couple years, and the care has been spotty. Usually we have trouble on the weekends with getting staffing. A lot of times they'll say they have a caregiver that is scheduled, and they usually don't show up. For the last five weekends, no one has showed up. If the caregivers don't show up, it's very impactful. I can't plan anything. There were times that my daughter would have an event and we would buy tickets, and we couldn't do it. The fact that they're not reliable is impactful. As far as an impact on Robert, having an aide is very positive.

Care Advantage doesn't send you the same caregiver on the weekends. Generally, they did a good job keeping the caregiver the same during the week. The services helped the most by being with my mother so that I could run errands. They kept my mother company.

Care Advantage kept losing the paperwork and the administration was not responsive. The services were distressing because the caregivers couldn't help me. The administration of Care Advantage could have squared away their paperwork and sent the caregivers. That would have made things a lot better.

I would probably refer Care Advantage to others. However, my biggest issues are with caregivers that regularly don't show up for scheduled appointments, and the office staff is also difficult to communicate with over the weekends. The services with Care Advantage could improve by letting me know whether the caregiver is arriving this weekend. Additionally, calls to the local office result in a list of names of people without any indication of their department. I've requested that this be fixed, but no work has been done on this regard.
