Encompass Home Health of Central Texas San Antonio, TX

We hired Encompass Home Health of Central Texas for my dad. I wasn't at home, but my mom was there, and they would come and help him with his catheter. I think he had a bedsore that they were attending to as well. They were helping him to do some exercises and walking him around the house to get him moving. They only came a couple of times a week, so it wasn't very much. The nurses were very caring, but there were one or two times that the nurse would say, "I'll be there at ten," and they wouldn't show up for a while. There were also one or two times when we called them because we needed them, and it took forever for somebody to call us back. Another nurse came at a time that she was supposed to be there, but she just sat in her car for thirty minutes out in our driveway. It was like, "OK, isn't she going to be helping us?" It was weird. We were still satisfied with what they were able to provide, but if my dad were in a situation where he was in pain or something, I don't feel like Encompass would have been there because of the way they reacted, like when when we reached out to them outside of the scheduled appointment, and the communication was not good. I hope that they would do what they say they're going to do.

The advocate or liaison for the Encompass Home Health was good. She went above and beyond to try to get us what we needed and helped us walk through it because it's our first experience. She was a big help with the set up, gave me connections, and followed up to make sure everything was in place. I would rate Debra as a 5; she was good.
