Ideal Home Care has been caring for my mother for the past 2 years. Words cannot express my dissatisfaction. Her aide calls in sick constantly and there are NO replacements. Also you can forget about coverage during any of the holidays. This past Christmas there was no aide for almost a week. The aide is inattentive to my mother's needs. Basically all she does is make sure my mother takes her morning medicine. She refuses to give nebulizer treatments even though I ask her to do it time after time. The aide does not cook. If it doesn't come out of a box she won't make it. The aide says she cannot give my mother a shower using a transfer seat, even after I showed her how to do it. She said she would sponge bathe her instead, but doesn't do that either. I've found my mother with caked on dirt on her feet and her night gowns drenched with urine. The aide doesn't think to put cream for dry skin or trim her nails. Even if I ask, this still doesn't get done. I've complained to management to no avail. For the past 6 months the manager has said they are replacing my mother's aide because they recognize the aide is not doing her job. To this day still no replacement. The treatment is borderline neglect. Please do not use this service.

If I could leave zero stars for Ideal Home Care based in Hauppauge, previously in Medford, I would. If you are considering using this agency, please contact me first and I will give you four years of horror stories, the last being: On Friday, the office manager “C” from Ideal called me to state that she was sending a new aide to relieve the aide that had already been working 10 days straight 24/7. I stressed with office manager “C”the fact that the new aide be made aware of my father’s condition since he is bed ridden with a catheter and is on hospice, and also the fact that I was working around the clock and would not be around to meet or instruct this new aide. Office manager “C”assured me that the aide was instructed on all aspects of my father’s care. She even went on to tell me that the aide had been in their employ for many years and was well trained. Then on Saturday when their new aide arrived, “MC” at 8:30 am, she was annoyed because she found that my father was confined to a hospital bed and was not mobile. She claims she was informed by the office staff at Ideal that he needed minimal assistance getting to the bathroom. She told all this and showed her disgust to the aide that was leaving his shift; he knew The replacement aide, “MC” was not happy. Then 15 minutes later “MC”, the replacement aide, left too! She closed the door and walked out… Leaving my father unattended! She proceeded then to wait on my driveway and call an Uber. A staff member “A” from Ideal Home Care did not call me until 10:06 AM to let me know that the replacement aide on the case left my father alone. THAT IS ABANDONMENT!!! I was 5 1/2 hours away from my home and could not get there right away. Staff member “A” from Ideal Home Care stated she was having problems finding a replacement aide; that in fact she called over 21 aides and couldn’t find a replacement. I told her, “that’s NOT my problem! Get the owner of your company, Nicole to my home to care for my father”. Staff member “A” said Nicole, the owner was out in field signing up new customers. I went crazy when I heard that comment… “You’re worried about signing up new customers and you can’t even take care of your existing ones.” Ideal home Care did not send a replacement aide until 2:50 PM, which means my father was alone almost 6 hours, and that aide left at 10 PM. That meant my father was left alone again from 10 PM at night until the following day at 9 AM. My father is entitled to 24/7 care, seven days a week. By the time I reached my father’s bedside, his urine was purple. My father then passed away on Wednesday morning. So if you are thinking of using Ideal Home Care for your loved ones, think again!

My mother was in a nursing home for rehab temporarily and somebody there recommended Ideal Home Care and I just went with that. I didn't do a whole lot of comparison shopping. I just went with the recommendation. My mom didn't really need a lot of assistance. She's basically at risk for falling so she needs someone there to watch her just in case she would fall. Other than that, she's pretty mobile. She can dress herself and can take care of herself. So she didn't need any in depth assistance. She also needed someone with a car to drive her on errands because she can no longer drive. The caregiver had a car and was able to drive her. There were a couple of times we needed someone to go accompany her on a long hour on a rail road to her dentist in the city. When we needed that, someone was supplied and it went well. We're very satisfied with Ideal. Their service was very good and we had a pleasant experience. Everything was fine when we had them. Generally we got the service that was promised.

They were actually advertised in a book we get every 2 months in the community and I just happened to see it and I figured I would call. They got back to me very quickly. I never had really a problem with them. Whoever they sent out was good. My husband was bed-ridden and the caregivers took good care of him and attended all his needs. They helped him shower and prepared him meals. I think they can improve on punctuality management. Some of the caregivers back then didn't come on time. We had some problems once in a while with that but overall we were really satisfied with their service.

I had them for about two and a half years. I was very satisfied with their service. The woman who received the care was a very difficult woman to work with and I think they did quite a very nice job. She's a friend who doesn't have any children and her husband asked me to be a trustee before he died. I'm very pleased with the caregivers. We had them starting in 2009 and we had tried 24/7 care, 12 hours and 10 hours. Only once in a two and a half or 3 years they couldn't provide somebody for the first 3 hours of the day. They're really excellent. Nicole herself visited on several occasions if there's a problem or concern. She's a hands on gal.

I had another provider that they didn't have the quality of help I'm looking for. I contacted my Aunt's long term care policy. They gave me a list and I chose them. Nicole is very hands on. She came to the initial assessment and she's been there many times to other assessments. Every time my mom would come home from the hospital, Nicole would be there again to conduct and assessment and a care plan. Whenever there's a new aide, she would always come with them and introduce my aunt to the new aide. All the aides were really wonderful. They've been very confident and very caring. My aunt has mild dementia. They were always very patient and always took very good care of her. I am very satisfied with their service.

I needed somebody to help my husband and one of my neighbors had a visiting caregiver. I asked her if she knows anybody and she gave me Nicole's name and number. It's been very good with Nicole. She has very good people working for her. The caregivers she sent were very kind to my husband. He needs help in everything really.

They were recommended to me by one of the medical people. It was a very good experience with them. I still have one working for us. We've been very close to her. She's very competent and attentive. She does a very good job. She helps me around and watches over me. I have been using Ideal Home Care for close to 2 years now. On the management side, they had been very good, cooperative and nice. I never had any problems with scheduling or anything like that. Overall, I'm satisfied with their service.

Nicole was very nice and we had a nice chat together. I just felt that she's a nice lady and I tried their service out. The lady Nicole was assigned to me. She picked me up to take me to my doctor and drove around 15 minutes. She waited for me. When I was done with the doctor, she took me home and then she made lunch for me. She did a little bit of cleaning around the house. The only thing that I can comment on was that she didn't have a car to drive. She said she had to drive my car so she had to learn how to drive my car. I originally thought that they will provide the car but according to Nicole if I were to use their car, I have to pay additional money.
