My sister and I were in a panic because our Mom, who has Alzheimer's was going to be released from the hospital soon with a new feeding tube. One of the CNAs at the hospital recommended Brightstar for home care and we're so glad she did. They got us signed up on VERY short noticed and had someone at our home to help the day after Mom got discharged. Right now my Mom needs total care, help with hygiene, dressing, everything --and they even helped with the laundry --which wasn't expected but greatly appreciated ;) We love the personal home helper and the nurse that came out to do the assessment. everyone has been friendly, professional, punctual and very helpful. We don't know what we would have done without them. I highly recommend this agency

Without them, she would have gone to a nursing home and possibly died there without family members. They came through at the last minute and significantly changed her life. I used two agencies and they were the better choice by far. The best thing was that they were so professional. My dad got Covid from another agency's nurse and so they ended up dropping my family. This agency kept sending caregivers which was what we needed. They really came through for my family.

It takes both Linda and I to help him get down the three stairs and go into the shower. Without them I wouldn't be able to manage. They can have better communication. I have BrightStar Care West Lake County for 2 hours every day. They come in, they clean up my husband and then they leave. So they do their job, though he doesn't need a lot of care. We've already been using their services for more than a year. They also do other things, they might make him a light breakfast which is minimal, they'll go get him his shoes and things like that. The caregiver is different every day. I wish I could get a caregiver every day and I don't have to tell them where the silverware is, or the cups are and so on. Every day I have to tell a different person. So nobody gets to know each other or even know where to find the towel, soap, the basin, and everything to wash my husband. In terms of the billing, they take it right out of my visa card. I would recommend them if someone for the most part just needs minimal help. The caregivers are not able to change bandages, or put medicine on, or give someone medicine. Aides can't do that.

The schedulers don't listen to your needs. They just do what they want, and it doesn't matter what the clients' needs were. Most of their caregivers end up leaving.

We hired Bright Star for in home care. The provider offered care of the dependent and light housework. Dad was gotten out of bed, taken to the kitchen for breakfast, then onto the couch. On the days we did not have in home physical or occupational therapy, that was the extend of his care from Bright Star. Dad was on the couch and the caregiver sat in the kitchen on her cell phone. A few times, we had other providers from Bright Star, they did more house work than prsonal care. No assistance with therapy. A representative came to the house for evaluations of the caregivers, but nothing changed. Communication was poor. We were left without a caregiver a few times because of call offs. Its a daunting task finding a caregiver. It's expensive. We just wanted what we paid for.

I would definitely tell people about Bright star. My caregiver is unique and wonderful. It is wonderful not having to find someone to drive me when I have to go on an errand. I have been thanking God all day today for the amazing people in my life.

If the caregiver is going to be late, they will call me and let me know ahead of time. For example, my aide was in a car accident, and the office called me as soon as they found out and asked if I wanted a replacement or if I wanted to wait. My aide will come in, give me a shower, and make me comfortable.
