"We're using Elite Home Care for my mother. We wanted someone for four hours and the majority of the agencies were eight hours. We were able to get four hours a day for my mother, which was what we needed. I liked their flexibility. My mother likes to have a little companionship in the evening and showering. Washing up in the evening is when she needs the most assistance. The caregivers seem caring. My mother's content. It's just initially it was a little rough because many of them came from Brooklyn and were in Lynbrook, so it took a little while for them to get somebody situated during the week and the weekends. They're not consistent with the time every day, but they've gotten better because I spoke to them. However, they're not so engaging. My mother wanted them to maybe wash something in the sink and they're like, "We don't do that." There are very few things that they do. It's very basic."

"My 95 year old mother was a client of Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn from September 2016 until January 2017, when she came to live with me in Pennsylvania. My mother, who continued to exercise and enjoy socializing well into her 90's, had become physically and mentally frail. A friend had a wonderful experience with Home Instead in a different state, so I decided to try the Brooklyn service. From my first tearful phone call to Home Instead (during which I shared my mother's entire life story) until my last conversation explaining that my mother was moving in with my family, every staff member my mother and I interacted with was extremely patient, compassionate, empathetic, and professional. I was truly impressed with the communication between office staff, providers, and clients! If I called the the main office to make a schedule change, the Home Instead staff person I spoke with told me how much my mother's caregivers adored her, and was always aware of the wonderful stories about my mother's childhood that had been shared during visits. I felt that everyone at Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn really knew and loved my mom, and cared for her as if she were a family member. Senior care is a true calling for all who were involved in my mother's service plan, and not just a job. Providers often picked up games, puzzle books, and favorite food items for her, and one even had a friend who was a plumber fix my mother's thermostat! Although I left some microwaveable meals in the freezer, my mother's caregivers often had food delivered so they could cook a fresh, nutritious meal from scratch. My mother's caregivers still call to see how she is doing and to say how much they miss her. I enthusiastically recommend Home Instead Senior Care Brooklyn to anyone looking for in-home care for a family member. "

"I get the help needed inside the house, but I need the aide to drive my parents to some of the doctors' appointments. However, none of the aides can even do that, and they can't even roll her up and down the ramp. They oversold their capabilities in that respect. The cost is comparable with the other providers. They do light cleaning, help with bathing, walk them around, organize cabinets, and do personal grooming, which is the most important thing. They're very good aides. One of the positive things they do is provide services to on a discount for going back and forth to the hospital and the doctor. They also have a good RN case supervisor."

"My 91 year old mother, an upper east side resident, has started showing some signs of memory loss / Dementia and I wish we would have called these folks sooner. Balancing my busy schedule between work, the kids, and taking care of mom more than we used to really started to take a toll. "We chose Synergy HomeCare because I had gone through many agencies and they were the most accommodating to me when I spoke with them on the phone. My husband has an aide three times a week. They start with a nurse in the beginning and then six months after, the nurse comes back and rechecks him. The caregiver is wonderful and the best I've ever had. "I am using By Your Side Home Health Services for mom. They came in and provided her care while I was at work. So, they helped change her, washed her bedding, fed her, and cleaned up the kitchen. They also helped, like when the PT people and the nursing team came. They would communicate with me about who came and why and then let me know how she was doing or if she had a problem, that kind of thing. They were excellent. Administratively, they were great, kind, and great communicators. The person they sent was awesome."

"My wife became too much for me to take care of & Right at Home was there to help us. They made sure she was safe, took her medication and was clean and dressed.
