I have visited many times. Staff seem so happy and when they're happy, mom and dad are happy. There seems to be an environment of respect and everyone is genuine and happy to help each other out. The mood is just warm and inviting when we walk through the doors. No wonder my mom's doctor highly recommended it.

My dad was at Mountain Terrace Senior Living. I tried their meals, and for dinner, I thought that the presentation was acceptable and tasteful. The room was nicer than the other place. It's a nice size, and it has everything that my dad needed there. It had an attached half bath, which was nice. It was certainly spacious. It had enough room for him. There's good lighting and ventilation. With regard to the staff, I thought that the people I met were pleasant. And for the value for money, I thought it was certainly reasonable for what we were expecting. It was good.

My mom is currently staying at Mountain Terrace Senior Living. I don't know if anyone else is having issues, but they are having issues with a big turnover or lack of help. I don't think she's getting the attention that she needs. They kind of promised a lot of things that I don't believe she's getting, and I know some of it has to do with COVID, but some of that is just laziness in my opinion. It's not as clean as they said it was going to be. Their communication is terrible. These are things that I'm just really not happy with. They don't communicate a lot with the family at all. Their staff is constantly changing since my mom's been there. In less than a year they've gone through almost everyone; the executive director, the nurse, and the activities director quit. Every time I go there, it seems like they have more spaces. That's hard on the people, because they're old, and they're used to some of these people that they can kind of depend on, and it's just been a revolving door of people coming and going there. She's not getting the care she should be getting. Probably one of the better things that they have is, they do seem to have a decent menu of a variety of food for them. My mom at first complained quite a bit, but she's less complaining now because of that. I'm sure she's as used to her own cooking and so forth, but I think their food is good. My mom's got dementia and she needs help getting there. She's also got macular degeneration, so she can't see that well. I think sometimes they don't go there and get her to go down to eat. Sometimes she maybe just thinks she hasn't eaten, but sometimes she'll say to me that she has missed meals, which I'm not happy about at all. They have very little activities. They promised all these things, but it is COVID at the time, and they can't. They're in and out of lockdown all the time, and then the activities are shut down. They try to do things within the center, but my mom has macular degeneration, so she can't do a lot of the things. I don't think they try hard enough to get them active, or they do nothing outside, except they can sit out there. They should be doing some activities that are outside so that people can be more active. I don't know if it's because of lack of help or because they are short-handed. It's very expensive, and much less than they promised. They had promised nursing and staff. At first, when she went there, they were doing medical testing, blood pressure checks. If she would have situations, they could have done an X-ray there or they could have; now, there's none of that. Everytime something happens, like a small fall or something, I have to go there and take her into the emergency room. There's no medical care there at all anymore, and that's part of the price.

We went to Mountain Terrace Senior Living. I thought it was very impressive, it seemed like they genuinely cared, and I felt it had a warm atmosphere and very caring atmosphere. The rooms were very clean, modern looking, and seemed to be well maintained. It's very comfortable and easy access to two major highways, and there's a very popular restaurant a street from them, Vino Latte. The food in the dining area was very good, tasty, and served efficiently.

I liked Mountain Terrace although we are not just ready to go move just yet. I walked into their dining room area, and it looked like everybody was enjoying their meal. The head of the place was very informative, and he took me on a tour to see the rooms.

We've chosen Harmony of Wausau Terrace for my mother. For one thing, I was impressed by how friendly the staff was, and the facility had a lot of amenities with very open spaces and very nice rooms. They have just been very accommodating; they took my mother on a tour, and they asked her what she liked about the place. My mom told them that she wanted to be close to the dining area on the first floor, and they were able to fit every specific need that my mother said she wanted at that time. One of the things was the occupational and physical therapy that they have right there on the facility. Actually, it might have been Bingo and cards they had going that afternoon. They also had like a little chapel that was just kind of a quiet area with a beautiful view, and they did have all kinds of different services there during the month.
