"We toured Oak Grove Assisted Care. The tour experience was very good. We only met two people: the woman who oversees the facility and one of the nursing staff. They were both very kind and helpful. They're very nice apartments. The ones we saw were the smaller ones. It was one nice-sized bedroom, a living area, and a full kitchen. One of the rooms had a walk-in closet. So, the spaces were very nice. Their dining area was nice. We know that the food is all homemade. However, we did not get the opportunity to taste the food."

"I toured Stoney River Assisted Living & Memory Care. They were very welcoming. They wanted to know what his needs were and how they could support that. They were very nice. They showed us around. The staff was friendly. It was very clean and spacious. The rooms were large and bright. They had gathering places for families and the residents. It was very community-like."

"Atrium Senior Living was a beautiful facility, they have birds in cages on the lower level, and it’s kind of relaxing. But I wasn’t impressed as you never saw nurse at the nursing station; there was no one to answer the call. I remember standing there one time as the person that I visited needed help so I went down as they won’t answer her call. But as far as the facility goes, it’s new and beautiful."

"We stopped in to check out the Harmony of Wisconsin Rapids as we were in the vicinity looking at assisted living options for our aunt. We needed to come earlier than planned, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The manicured outside grounds looked spacious and well kept will plenty of room for parties and for residents to enjoy easily and safely. The main rooms were nicely decorated and the residents seemed quite happy. The activities looked interesting, from local entertainment, to cultural happenings in the region. Residents are encouraged to participate in everything -- from outdoor outings such as nature walks, to in-house events. The snacks offered looked healthy and delicious; the staff encouraged everyone to eat regularly, including healthy snacks that are offered throughout the day. The food we tried was delicious. They make every effort to accommodate as many tastes and dietary needs as possible. Our aunt would really like their menu options, which seemed to have a lot of variety. The library was nicely stocked - and we were told that many of the residents are avid readers, like our aunt is. She would particularly like the garden area, where many of the residents spend quality time. The residents here all looked well cared for and happy; we could see our aunt blending in well here. "

"My aunt is at Hilltop of Pepper. I have been going there for several years, and I like the place. The times I've been there, I would give them a five because they are friendly, and my aunt's room is beautiful. You can go outside, but you can't get out of there unless you go through the main door; it is a locked place. I have been there when she was eating, and she liked it although I didn't taste it myself. They asked if I'd like to eat, but I didn't have that much time to stay. At one point when I was there, my aunt was in distress because of mouth sores or so, and I didn't know where to find the staff person because it was during lunchtime, and the one that there was the cook, so I mentioned it to the cook, and the cook went and got one of the gals that takes care of that kind of thing. She came and looked at it, and then she went and got some medication, put it on my aunt, and took care of it. "

"I think The Renaissance Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids is nice. I had a really good tour. They had a lot of activities. I saw an outdoor space. I toured them twice, and I took my mother. I remember that it had like a full kitchenette in some of the rooms. The tour was great. They spent a lot of time answering questions. They have two-bedroom units. They have a pool table and a library; there are definitely activities. They have a hair salon and things like that. They have a meal plan. You can sign up for as many meals as you want, and then they charge you based on that."

"My dad moved to Hilltop Grand Village. It's always up to date. It just seems like everybody that worked there was very nice, and the whole facility is just very nice. It's pretty new. It's about seven, almost eight years old. So, it was pretty up-to-date on stuff. His apartment is pretty spacious. He has a one-bedroom, and it's a pretty good size for one person. They have a swimming pool. They have activities. They have mass there. They have a barbershop. They do pedicures, manicures, haircuts, and a home therapist if they need it. They cook their own meals. They just have a lot. The value for money was very reasonable."

"My mom moved to Our House Senior Living - Wisconsin Rapids Assisted Care. It's a fairly small facility all on one level. I think they only have about 22 rooms, which is fine. It was nice, well-kept, and clean. The staff was very friendly. They attend to my mom's needs. They do activities throughout the day. I know they have a lot of activities. They even sent us a list of a calendar of what they will be doing from bingo to exercising, quite a myriad of different things. I think that all assisted living is too expensive, but this one is very comparable, possibly even a little more reasonable than some of the others."

"I visited the Brown's Assisted Living Center approximately two weeks ago for a job interview. During the time there, I saw some things that sparked my attention. The first thing I noticed was the decor. While it looked lovely on the outside, the inside was furnished with antique looking furnishings, and just felt very old and uncomfortable. It is important to note that the assisted living home is not for elderly; it is for mentally disabled patients of various ages.I got to see the staff interacting with the patients, and thought they did a fairly well job. They interacted with them in an more personal environment, doing things that included watching television and playing games with the patients.The manager of the facility was not the friendliest person in the world, and I was not impressed with her attitude. It does concern me to think of how she would be interacting with the patients. Overally, I believe the patient's do get good care at Brown's Assisted Living, but the atmosphere should be more welcoming and better furnished. "

"The rooms are very spacious. I like how the bedroom and bathroom are separate from the living area. When my mother moved in, the room was in excellent shape and smelt like the brand new carpet smell. The food is delicious. I love the ala crate options for breakfast for my mother. The staff and management are great. Management has been very involved and willing to answer any question. If they don’t know the answer, they are quick to find it."

"My father was there . He was very hard to please. But he loved it. Great staff and food. I checked alot of places , this Riverview is way the finest in the area. Beautiful, very peaceful location. That's what a home should be. They have and can provide different levels of care if needed. "

"Point Manor is a nice place, and they keep it clean. There are 3 floors, and the first floor that my mother's on is the assisted living. They have their own private bathroom and a little kitchenette area where there is a microwave and a sink. It's not a big complex. My mother is perfectly happy there. I think they have a very varied menu. I feel the caregivers are nice people, and they care about their patients. They've gone out of their way since they know we now live two and a half hours away instead of just 2 miles from her. Overall, it's a good place. They had all kinds of things from arts and crafts, they play different games on weekly basis, bingo, apples to apples, they have musical people come in, and different events that they can socialize the residents. The staff does activities as far as picnics, Christmas parties, and family get togethers with potlucks. I think they do a pretty good job with the activities. "
