I visited the Brown's Assisted Living Center approximately two weeks ago for a job interview. During the time there, I saw some things that sparked my attention. The first thing I noticed was the decor. While it looked lovely on the outside, the inside was furnished with antique looking furnishings, and just felt very old and uncomfortable. It is important to note that the assisted living home is not for elderly; it is for mentally disabled patients of various ages.I got to see the staff interacting with the patients, and thought they did a fairly well job. They interacted with them in an more personal environment, doing things that included watching television and playing games with the patients.The manager of the facility was not the friendliest person in the world, and I was not impressed with her attitude. It does concern me to think of how she would be interacting with the patients. Overally, I believe the patient's do get good care at Brown's Assisted Living, but the atmosphere should be more welcoming and better furnished.
