We like Nekoosa Court for my mother because it is a smaller facility. It's also a senior living. They have studios and duplexes, so if you're moved in and you're okay, you could live in a villa or an apartment, and then if you need more care, they try to move you into the studio apartments where they have quicker access to you versus the apartments and the villas. The staff is very helpful. They're very friendly. My mother enjoys them and they enjoy her because she likes to joke around with them, but they've been very, very good with her. They serve three meals. I have tried their food and overall, it has been okay. They have an activities director, and there's something going on every day except on the weekends. They have exercise, bingo, and entertainment comes in sometimes (somebody that plays the guitar or the piano). It's hard sometimes to have some of the people in there play cards because some of them don't understand or don't remember, so they try to make it enjoyable for everyone. They also have crafts and activities where they'll make something in the kitchen and stuff like that.

I liked Nekoosa Court. I was impressed. I like it. The staff was friendly. The residents seemed to be doing well. The rooms were very nice, well kept clean. Seemed like a lot to offer as far as activities and things to do. We got a packet that tells you everything. We saw the sample menu. My mother liked it also. I just like the look and the atmosphere and all that they had to offer. We were introduced to some of the staff and it just seemed like a good fit for my mom.

Nekoosa Court was very nice, but it didn't fit our needs. My father-in-law is more mobile, and he's not in a wheelchair. The staff was very attentive and answered all our questions. It was a very nice tour. The facility was very clean. They had nice-sized rooms.

I saw a nice studio apartment at Nekoosa Court as well as the common area. The place was very pretty. They have a beauty shop, transportation, and none of the meals are included, they're separate. By the time you add your meals and anything else you want to do, it would be expensive. The people weren't overly friendly. You had to order your meals ahead of time in the dining room, so it wasn't just where you could go in and dine. You had to make arrangements. The dining room was adequate sized. They had raised gardens, so you can garden in the summer. The one thing I didn't like about the place was it was too big, and I prefer a smaller facility.

I was very impressed with Retirement Community-Nekoosa; I liked it. The property was nice, clean. and neat. The staff was friendly, and the facility has lots of room. The apartments were really of good size. They have gardening where residents can take part like vegetable garden. They have tress and plants around the facility. They also have bingo and crafts, and they take you shopping or to ball games.

The food at Retirement Community of Nekoosa is terrific. I had one meal there that I if I had gotten it at a restaurant, I would have been happy. The dining room needs updating, but I think they are planning to do that. The staff is tremendously friendly and kind, and the residents all seem to be happy. They have it all. They have the ability to lead independent lives with their villas, which is where my parents ended up going. They have villas, so you feel like you are in your own house, but you can still go over for meals. You have to walk about 75 ft. to get to the meal site. My father is super independent and has his own car, but my mother is the one who needs so much help. He has his own garage and can still go places like he is living a normal life while she is getting the attention she needs. They have the next stage where if they needed more help, they could go into the apartment building. In the final stage, they have the actual nursing home, which is a wing off to the side, so it is great.

The person who gave the tour at Retirement Community of Nekoosa was really good. He gave us a nice tour and showed us everything we needed and wanted, and we liked it. Out of all the places we visited, that was the one we liked the best. The rooms seemed to be bigger than the others. The place in general, was just very friendly. The residents just seemed more outgoing.
