"Oak Gardens Place was okay, but we didn't choose it because it was larger, and they didnt have any openings. The staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The activities were similar to most of the places we visited, and a number of them were helpful. The dining room was very open, it looked very large, and was very nice."

"I visited Care Partners and they were very informative. They were good and the rooms were fine. They have activities. I went to their memory care unit and the staff was courteous. My sister-in-law was a resident. It was a good layout and everything was fine. I wouldn't hesitate being there. I like that it's all on one floor and it's more like a house."

"I initially wanted HeatherWood Assisted Living & Memory Care because I love that place, but my mother couldn't go there because it was registered as an RCAC. (It needed to be registered as a CBRF.) It does have a CBRF wing but that was full, so I couldn't go in there, and that really discouraged me. Nevertheless, I love everything about it. It has a beautiful garden, and it is a small, homey, down-to-earth, family-type deal. It's very good, and it's my number-one choice. Price-wise, it's much better than others, plus they promise to never go up in price in your lifetime, which is unbelievable."

"I would pick Care Partners Assisted Living and Memory Care in Eau Claire West for my parents. It was a very clean and nice facility. The residents were playing a game in the common area, a lot of the women had make-up on, they had their jewelry on, and those were important to me. The activities there had everybody involved, the women seemed very happy playing, and the hallways had no dead-ends, every hallway would end up right back in the common area. The biggest selling point for me was that there was an assisted living side where my dad could be, and he would just walk down the corridor to go visit. It smelled good in there, the other thing I liked is that it had a secure area where my mom could go, and it had a path that she could walk."

"LakeHouse Chippewa Falls was very clean and very well kept. The residents all looked very happy to be there. It's open air, like the yards and things were all very nice. I only interacted with the lady who gave us the tour and she was very nice. I know another resident who lives there, and she says that the staff is always very helpful. Their laundry service is completely free and they will do it for you or you can do it yourself. They do not allow cooking in the rooms. They don't have a stove available, so you'd just be heating up with a microwave. They have a community kitchen that the residents can use. That seemed very nice, except it's not like you could just make your own meals there. It would be more for baking or special occasion cooking. They also had a large dining room such as if you want to have your family over and the dining room that all residents use was very open, airy, and well-lit. We did not try the food other than the muffin, but we were able to see the food that was on the table. One nice thing is, although you have to eat their food, you have a menu that you can choose from. There are always a couple of different entrees that you can choose from. The staff seemed very helpful. They had elevators available. They had safe stairways that were very nice. The hallways were well-lit."

"I was able to visit the assisted living facility of Colfax Senior Living. The coordinator was very nice, answered all of my questions, and gave me a thorough tour. The facility is very nice and has everything. They have senior apartments, assisted living, and memory care. It was very homey and very clean. I saw the rooms, and they're nice. I didn't see the activities going on, but I did see the craft room full of crafts. It was organized and looked very nice."

"When we got to VitaCare Living-Bloomer I, they weren't expecting us at all. The main lady wasn't there so her assistant helped us and she didn't know that much. So, we didn't get much help. She showed us around the rooms and I was disappointed in the rooms. They weren't prepared for me at all. Then the lady that was there didn't know what to tell us. She had no idea. They didn't have any brochures for it to look at."

"The food here was very good and the staff were generally quite responsive to any issues that family members would bring up to them. There were a lot of activities to do that kept the residents well occupied. People were generally as happy as one could possibly expect in a situation like this. The place was very clean and well looked after every single time I visited there over the course of many years. My father was here for a while and all of the staff remained very attentive to him as a person the whole time. Not only that, but they also remained very open to my coming in and talking about his care whenever I felt like doing so. This was a great relief and I would fully recommend this location to anyone who finds themselves in need of such a facility as this. It was a very good place. "

"We visited Country Terrace of Wisconsin in Stanley. They only have assisted living. My father was at a memory care unit the last time, so even though this is a small community, it wouldn't work for him. They do have locks on the doors, and it's a good community. The staff members are excellent, and very friendly. Everything about the apartment was clean and suitable. I believe you'd have to bring your own furnishing. The hospital is right down the road from them, and the pricing is comparable to everybody."

"The Classic at Hillcrest Greens is awesome. When my dad was alive they put money down to go there. It was a beautiful place. They have different levels of care but you stay in the same apartment, and they bring the care to you. The memory care is a separate unit because they lock it down, otherwise you will stay in the same unit you rent as your care develops. Their dining area was very nice, and they order off a menu. It's not like you have to eat what everybody else does. They had outings, farmers market stuff, a weight room, they have everything."

"We stopped into the Family Tree assisted living facility while in the area searching for a new home for our aunt. Family Tree appeared to be well taken care of from the outside, with plenty of lush greenery for residents to enjoy. The residents seemed very content and well cared, as we walked through the building. The entire interior design was easy to navigate with beautiful views in a calming décor with lots of light and fresh air. The backyard included many places to enjoy the grounds safely. There were plenty of park-like benches with many beautiful trees and well-manicured lawn space. The private spaces were decorated according to individual taste, within a homey and airy atmosphere. Each space had nice views of the area. The bathrooms were all designed with rails and seats. The main dining room looked comfortable and spacious. The residents enjoy healthy, home-style meals in the casual restaurant setting. The food smelled and looked delicious. The menus included many great dishes. Snacks are offered throughout the day and whenever desired. The exercise center includes exercise classes and equipment with instruction. Seniors also safely navigate the lovely pathways and spacious courtyards. The activities include an impressive calendar of events with many stimulating activities such as visiting the many cultural establishments in the Eau Claire region, where they can enjoy everything from nature walks to fine dining. The residents all looked content in a stimulating, yet tranquil environment. The kind staff attends to their needs in an expert, caring and considerate manner. "

"My mom moved into Heritage Court Memory Care recently. It's good and we are very pleased with it. They're very caring and very attentive. It seems like a good fit for her. Her room is very nice and very clean. She has her own bathroom and it has nice furniture. They provide the bed and the dresser. I'm very happy with it."

"I got a very positive first impression from Grace Willowbrook. The person during the tour was very friendly and very honest. The rooms were very adequate. The dining area looked good. Some accommodations looked a little old, but still very pleasant. I saw people getting their hair done, and there's a little library."

"Heritage at Oakwood Hills was very clean and well organized. They have a good percentage of workers among the patients, but they do not take Medicaid, which is a problem for us. We talked to some of the residents, and they were very happy there. The rooms are a little bit smaller, but that would work. I know they have activities for the residents."
